@@Rasv- must be easy to be that high when you got the best car on the grid. The last three seasons Red Bull has for the most part of the season the 2nd or best car on the grid. Sergio should be finishing in those positions at the minimum He is 7th right now
Him and Tsunoda are in such a weird spot at RB, and the longer Checo stays the weirder it gets. I feel this is especially bad for Daniel due to his stock not rising so far with his comeback, just middling. The problem is the lack of seats at most teams for 2026 and beyond. His only real options are both RB teams and both seats rely on Checo to continue failing.
@@JOSETV1In what way does Checo deserve his seat? He's been terrible and could cost Red Bull the constructors championship. He should've already been replaced but he's kept there just because of merch sales, sponsor money and Liberty not wanting the ticket sales for Mexican GP to tank due to Checo being fired
@@JOSETV1 Checo doesn't deserve his seat. He's not good enough to be a wingman for Max. Just look at the results; if Checo keeps doing what he does Red Bull will lose constructors' championship. He can't afford to be bad this season.
@@eduardosantana8300 I feel like they're unhappy with Yuki's maturity. As in, he isn't getting more mature. The last thing they need is both drivers spitting the dummy regularly at Red Bull. Daniel is obviously a lot more mature, but he hasn't covered himself in glory with AT. I feel like there is characteristics that they don't like in either Tsunoda or Ricciardo and they obviously aren't seeing what they want in Lawson. I would imagine Lawson is done already, they would have given him more seat by now if they thought he was a better choice than Ricc/Tsunoda/Perez. My guess is they will probably keep Perez at RB, then likely drop Ricciardo, give the seat to Hadjar and then see how he competes against Yuki. Maybe Ricc stays on as a substitute/3rd driver, I'd imagine he will find a seat at a lower team - maybe daddy stroll will finally give up on his dream of getting Lance to the top of f1 or double down and sack Alonso for someone he thinks Lance could beat.
Incredible how Riccardo went from a terrible McLaren season where everybody said he is washed. To now, where he might be a RBR driver again. That's F1 I guess.
@@wplegend id still rate him the best out of the midfield if he has a good car that suits his needs like the renault or redbull. dont forget right before that 21 mclaren season Daniel got p5 in the wdc in a car that was 5th fastest. and hes the only driver to ever be close to verstappen. Checo, albon and gasly have always been between 4 -7 tenths off verstappen. but daniel and maxs setup are quite similar and Daniel at the end of 2018 when he wasnt invested in redbull anymore due to his car breaking like crazy was only 2 tenths off verstappen in pace
Personally i dont understand why they dont just switch Checo and Danny for the rest of the season and simply see who does better. The better performer gets to keep the Redbull seat, the worse of the 2 moves over in RB for Lawson
As fans of both of them, this would’ve been perfect for the two of them. Switch teams, see who does better, and then make the final decision to switch them back or keep it the way it is
I said this before and I’ll say it again. If Perez is seriously gonna throw the WCC for Redbull. Then promote either Daniel or Yuki, bring Liam to Vcarb. Put Perez as reserve. Then go from there
The reality for Vcarb is that major sponsors aren't interested in a team for junior drivers. Big sponsors want big names driving their mobile billboards and Danny Ric ticks all the boxes, whereas Yuki and/or Liam, aren't in the same league.
This is what I am thinking, Checo will be dropped at the end of season if Red Bull loses the constructors championship so that way they can say " Hey we gave him a chance and he didn't deliver" to save face. Then they will bring Daniel in for 2025/2026 and give Liam his promised F1 seat at VCARB if he doesn't flip them the bird and move to another team like Alpine or Sauber/Audi, but this makes the most sense. Lose the championship, blame Checo, promote everyone's favorite Aussie, give Liam what was promised, and carry on.
If I was in Liam’s shoes I’d just make a pitch for Audi. Do like Piastri and just say “I won’t be driving for any RB outfit” Give them the finger for just toying with him for the past year or more.
@@bemvey Audi didn't even want Sauber junior Theo Pourchaire: a driver who vastly outperformed Lawson in two seasons in F2 and was an actual F2 champion. Piastri won F2 & F3 championships in his rookie season, so why would Lawson be in crazy demand above some of these guys like Pourchaire, Drugovich & Schumacher? He clearly doesn't have the kind of leverage to try to bluff/blackmail RBR into a seat.
I think redbull also need to accept that no other driver will be close to Max in that RB20, and that they can’t expect someone to compete for wins. They NEED to save what’s left, but it won’t be more.
You're 100% correct Red bull need a solid number 2. Like Botas Barrichello or Coulthard someone who can mop up when their teammate has a collision, engine failure etc. Checo isn't that guy not sure if DR is that guy either but the longer Checo stay the more respect he will lose in the eyes of the fans.
Red Bull is not really expecting anyone to beat Max. They just want a solid driver who performs regularly, not failing Q1, Q2, or crashing non stop. Problem with Red bull is that Checo not performing.
@@Milkywayboy i wouldn't blame Redbull doing so last year. This year, Checo is failing again because he fxxks up with his own race with stupid mistakes and qualifying results.
of the four drivers qualifying average position it Max , Daniel, Yuki and of course Checko is last. it seems like while the RBR choice to keep Checko was a very last minute thing. I suspect their are some back room discussions and contracts being prepared for the end of the season. It's pretty clear Daniel and Max along with Yuki and Liam at RBVisa next year. If we don't hear Liam's people are talking with Audi after the September deadline. I bet there is a contract in place behind closed doors
Danny Rics points in the last 1/4 of the season could have looked alot better with decent strategies, VCARB has dropped the ball here. RB are shooting themselves in the head with Checo, the rumours say F1 stepped in and asked for Checo to stay. There's no guarantee that Max stays at this point, increasingly looking like he will move on for 2026. I think Danny is needed for stability. Lets face it the whole RB org is still engaged in civil war. At this rate its not inconceivable the war ends with RB with Darth Christian and Yoovidhya and VCARB with Emperor Marko and Mark Mateschitz.
Fire Checo, DR gets his seat for a season or 2 have Yuki vs Lawson and promote the one with better results to the seat DR was occupying. Done. Everyone is happy (except Checo but honestly he doesn't look happy now either)
I say keep Daniel lower level he’s had his chance, remove Perez for yuki, up Lawson . And when hadger wins f2 make him reserve until Daniel is finished
He's been doing better recently, matching and even beating Yuki who has grown and is regarded high now. Idk if Danny would be very special in Redbull but i think he might perform better than Checo is atm
@@BlissifiedHH its clear that the vcarb just doesnt suit him. It is well known that his driving style is very close to maxs, and the only team that leans to slippery driving style is Redbull.

The fact that Red Bull didn't sign Sainz shows that Horner isn't really interested in outside drivers, just stroking his ego. The best thing they could have done is sign Sainz (for Perez's seat) and sign Lawson (for Ricardo's seat).
Sainz technically isn't even an 'outside driver.' He came up through the RB Junior Program, and drove for RB Torro Rosso when he was first starting out before Renault.
The real problem boils down to the fact that the RB juniors driver isn't "working" anymore. Between Vettel and Max, ot produced to WC level talents. Who's in the pipeline now that's a comparable talent? The cutthroat reputation has become a real liability now that Merc, Mclaren, Alpine, Ferrari, etc. all have established junior programs with various levels of success but generally much better stability. The RB driver line up was historically informed by the competitive advantage it had in the junior driver program, but it just doesn't have that anymore.
I guess the nub of it is RB's favoured options are performing disappointingly and dreadfully, while those it doesn't trust are performing. It doesn't help that Max can cope so well with a car tuned for speed at the expense of driveability that likely any teammate will struggle. So make a more driveable car and bring in one of the performing 'less trusted' drivers. Not so easy ...and then there's 'team Joss'... Personally, while I'd regret the loss of Max, I'd quietly breathe a sigh of relief when he and more importantly his dad finally leave.
@@YoungMaster_626well ricci drove max's car last year silverstone race week and his time would of put him 2nd on the grid that race! I think .3 slower than max! Not sure what else he could do to prove he is the best option to take the seat!
Given Checo's current form and the language after Spa, it definitely feels like a snap decision to keep him and it's sad how many deserving drivers are missing out because of it.
I hope Daniel goes to Red Bull, considering that in the last few races he's been outperforming Yuki and he hasn't been that far behind on average, while he would be a massive marketing ploy and bringing in Yuki would be incredibly risky with regards to his (and Max's) temperaments. Remember how even though Verstappen crushed Sainz in 2015, they still had a horrible rivalry? I'd then expect Lawson to go to Red Bull in 2025 with Hadjar going to Super Formula for a year after winning the title this year before partnering Lawson in 2026, with Lawson now providing the role of an experienced driver (he has extremely surprising maturity), but this is contingent on Perez' sponsorship becoming a non-factor.
This! So many people are looking at ricciardo as so much worse than tsunoda when if you look at statistics he is only slightly behind tsunoda on pace overall which was aided by the terrible start of the season and the dnfs that were no fault of his own. You don't see people so vocal about the teammates that are heaps further behind their teammate unless it's Perez and vcarb as a team has one of the lowest gaps between the two drivers. I believe red bull should swap Perez and Ricciardo for the rest of the year and depending on performance Ricciardo can be placed back in the vcarb for Yuki and Perez can be dropped for Lawson
@@PokeGOAT17 1. But in the last couple races Ricciardo has been better 2. Tsunoda with Verstappen might cause unneeded tension within the team like Sainz did 3. Ricciardo is more marketable than Tsunoda
@@Exo-riahMexico is a growing market, that is true. But there are more Australian/Japanese fans and those fans are more willing to buy merchandise for their favorite driver. Checo has his seat because of Carlos Slim, not his fans
@@07_danishwistara29 Actually it's a combination of both; Slim etc. providing huge sponsorship and the vast majority of RBR global merchandise being sold at Mexican & US GP's. Also, actual RB beverages rapidly gaining popularity in the lucrative Mexican market and selling more each year that Checo races for RBR.
I'm not sure why there is any confusion. I think it is pretty clear. Horner wants Max and Daniel at Red Bull, Yuki and Liam at RB. Hadjar comes in as reserve driver. That takes effect from whenever they manage to terminate Checo. In 2026, Yuki is no longer required because Honda is gone. Don't come at me Yuki fans, I'm not saying he isn't any good. But for reasons we the public may never know, Red Bull don't seem interested in him. If Max stays and if Daniel has a half decent 2025 they keep them both at Red Bull and bring Hadjar in beside Lawson at RB. If Max quits they will probably try to replace him with one of the McLaren drivers but that will only be possible if they are still a top team which may depend on how they go building their own power unit. The only doubt is around the question of who gets to call the shots. If Marko is still living under the delusion that he is the one who chooses the drivers that might all change. But I suspect he doesn't really care anymore. He has given up on trying to find the next Max and is acting more like Max's manager these days.
Simple. Checo = Guaranteed sponsorship money. Ricciardo = Might fail upon moving back and without the sponsorship money eventhough he's popular. Bringing Ricciardo back now doesn't make sense. What if he completely shits the bed and Redbull ends up losing the constructors anyway? It makes sense to keep Checo.
Driver stagnation is going to hurt F1. Keeping drivers like Ricciardo, Perez, and Magnussen have kept seats full with declining results. This while young drivers sit in simulators and fans don't get to see their talent in the big leagues. I'd much rather see Lawson drive then watching Perez flop around in the low midfield.

RB found themselves with 3 out of 4 seats being some kind of a "paydriver". Yuki for his Japanese passport/Honda connection, Daniel for his PR and sponsor appeal, and Perez for merch/red bull drink money sold in Mexico and sponsors.
Both Riccardo and Yuki seem out of place at VCARB unfortunately Yuki doesn't have much options until Honda are back and Ric probably thought he will be back at RB especially with Checo continuing his poor performance. 2025 will be interesting
It doesn't make sense that "everybody expected Checo to be replaced" unless you believed rumours at face value and subscribed to social media conspiracies and IF Ricciardo was comfortably beating Tsunoda, which he hasn't done and most likely won't do. With the safe option of not kicking Checo out both Checo and Ricciardo have likely their last season in the sport, if none of them deliver you can be sure both will be out
I think people are missing the point. There’s no need to replace Perez at the moment cuz it won’t make any difference at all. Red Bull is not in a good place at the moment and replacing Perez won’t bring them back, plus they don’t have anyone to replace him with that for sure is better than Perez. They know what they’re doing, for now they need to work on their car and then worry about a driver that can keep up with Max.
2025: Move Checo to other discipline but still with Red Bull Yuki with Max in RB Daniel with Liam in RBR 2026: depends on performance, but many options to choose from or Max leaves RB and the problem solves itself 😂
i think this is mainly down to one major factor: horner’s consolidation of power after he was almost ousted. Before this past winter Horner just liked Checo and Danny as entities, even when their performances were wanting. During the Controversy, checo and danny were the two drivers who came out publicly behind Horner. Ffw to now, Horner is secure in his position, Helmut’s influence is minimized, and Horner can keep the guys he likes regardless of how good their recent track records are/arent.
Only issue I had with this remark from Daniel was that last sentence "If my heart aint in it anymore" thats NOT the same as not being on the level anymore while holding up the youth. Its not the same thing. Your heart can be still in there, but simply not perfoming on the needed level anymore (which I dont think is the situation now, but thats not the point). He kinda contradicts himself with that last sentence

If Liam doesn't get a seat in Torro Rosso and he is available, where will he actually go? It's not like there are a lot of places for him to go to. If there was an 11th team, then this wouldn't be a problem but yeah
Binotto is looking for young drivers for Audi. Bortoleto is being touted as the main name, but i can bet that Marko will try to slip Liam's name in there. I think there are no other options for next year, but for 2026, we could see seats at Haas and Alpine opening up if their rookies have a bad debut season.
DR being openly critical of Helmut Marko, and DR saying he will go when he's ready and not before suggests; - he has backing from above and knows it - he knows what's coming and it's in his favour
6:50 TBH, idont care for juniors, Horner HAVE to give back on loyalty to his main drivers, why? its the right thing to do, and make sure future main drivers understand its worth for them in the end to be loyal to Horner.
My take. Horner is hedging his bets with DR. If Perez fails after the summer break DR is the only choice to take that seat in the short term. Alternatively if Max leaves at the end of the year Perez or a junior won't cut it at RB as the lead driver.
if you want the situation where VCARB can to do what Toro Rosso use to do back in the days, then both Checo and Daniel should be out, with Yuki moving up to redbull then we can find a newer rookie (propably Hadjar) to partner Lawson
Yes! We need more juniors. I don't think the driver pool has ever been this stale? I really hope Liam gets a seat. Hopefully Alpine go with Doohan. There's just something exciting about young drivers that we're missing out on.
RB could just find Ricarrdo a job as a mentor or driver coach - Daniel doesnt need to be a competitor to assist Yuki -- he would do a great job with Lawson as well. Giving young drivers a chance is the only way you know what their potential is. Lawson could be smashing it this year if he was given the chance he should have got.
Like how you all defend Daniel even after his embarrassing years at McLaren, but you believe he will be great at RB. Delusional people you are. What Checo did in RB, no one else managed to do after the supppsed brilliant years from Ricciardo. He is crap now because of that car being constructed for Max driving style.
You're literally contradicting yourself. So Ricciardo can't regain his form in a car that suits him after the McLaren stint, but Checo's form is down to a car that doesn't suit him...but that's fine? Make up your mind!
I like how you don’t have a clue about what the facts are, it’s hilarious and shows that it’s you who is delusional. The Maclaren was a piece of sh#t until 2023 and Checo has done nothing in the RB. He got results when it was the best car by a huge margin and the moment it required actual effort to stay with Max he’s nowhere to be seen. The fact that the RB is designed around Max would actually suit DR better than Checo because he and Max prefer a similar type of car and have more similar driving styles than Max and Checo.
@@housecat84 That the car is built to be fast are straight lies from red bull for thier marketing reasons. Max fan here, the car is build around max. Check max interviews. Start of season = checo is good, end of season after upgrades checo = bad.
@@vinnie4v277 it’s not a lie, it’s a rule of thumb for any car. Oversteery cars are faster than understeery cars so if a driver can tolerate or thrive in an oversteery car, they will be faster, as they rotate through a corner faster if they’re controlled. This is where Checo falls flat. He can’t handle oversteer, and he can’t adapt to the updates. It was the same case as last year too.
Lando would be better suited for a transfer to RedBull, he is a agressive driver, he would be a good pupil for Marco, competitive and Oscar is dominating for now in a McLaren it works dont fixe it. Ricardo is an enigma for now no one seams to have a definite opinion about him. Daniel enjoys a great favourability as a personality in F1. RedBull cant just brush him off, we all expect better results from him , and we cant pin down for sure what is the chalenges he his facing with the team or the car. Every body would want to see Daniel driving a performant f1 ride. His experience his status aren't convincing arguments. we need to see results.
It's Foam theory time. I believe it is Yuki that is in the most danger of losing his seat. Yes, he signed a new contract, but so did Sergio Perez and that didn't stop throngs saying Perez was going to be out. I think what Christian Horner is waiting to see if Yuki will lose his temper one more time. It came to this because of Yuki's uncontrolled anger at team orders earlier in the year where he drove dangerously after the race. That kind of behavior will take a while to live down before any team considers him for a seat (ref. KMag). I think one more uncontrolled anger situation will be all it takes, and Yuki will have made up Christian's mind for him. If that happens, I believe Red Bull release Yuki and bring in Liam Lawson.
The Solution........Red Bull enter officially the World Endurance Championship, and IMSA. 2 Cars in each. Creates 12 seats (3 per car, 2 cars per series), and all their junior drivers are on the world stage, and F1 drivers jump in at Le Mans. The ultimate place holders.
The longer this goes on the more I think it is about the Max seat and less about the Checo seat. With Max and Marco linked so closely together Horner is vulnerable to the maneuvering of the Verstappen camp. With Ricardo in the background it seems to calm Max and makes the promise of removing Checo seem real.
The story about DR being the coach to Yuki, when Yuli was wiping the floor with him makes no sense. - then VCARB reportedly setting the car to more work for Daniel... is that slowing it for Yuki? - the story that DR is some car set up wizard now after not being this at previous teams seems ridiculous. VCARB does well, DR brags it's all him and, he stopped VCARB going down the wrong rabbit holes. (I wonder how the engineers feel). Next race the VCARB performs really badly. So was this plumment down the wrong rabbit hole all DR. It strikes me that all these stories are BS hot air, because DR is favoured by the powers above and will do anything to keep him.
11:28 Handling his emotions on camera? You mean how he likes to say "I won't say it but..." and then he says it anyway. He just virtue signals someone who won't say things on camera and he does anyway. When he says "I'll save it for later" is that really not saying anything on camera? It's very clear he's upset with the team when he does it. Not saying the actual words gives him a pass? I don't know about that. He's not good at restraining himself at all, he just shows the image of someone trying to, but ultimately you always know when he's angry cause he makes it obviously clear.
what are you talking about? Daniel is one of the calmest drivers and doesn't let anger dictate his races, unlike verstappen or tsunoda who both make mistakes under anger (Like max in hungary 2024 or yuki in mexico 2023/bahrain 2024). When they're racing they're full of adrenaline and anyone could have an outburst, yet Daniel doesn't. He makes a point of letting his team know he's unhappy or angry but doesn't dwell on it. Everyone including russell, sainz, zhou, norris, leclerc, tsunoda, sargent, raikkonen, vettel, schumacher, hulkenberg, perez, hamilton, verstappen, albon all make their anger clear in the race by shouting. Very few like Bottas, magnussen, piastri and Ricciardo doesn't. They keep their head down and race like normal. You're making an issue out of nothing, Yuki himself has credited Daniel for showing him how to handle things and keep calm on track.
There appears to be a lot of internal turmoil at Red Bull and it's reflecting in the people leaving and on track performances. This possible train wreck seems far from over.
Seems to me that Red Bull (ultimately being a marketing company) are treating F1 as 'racing as a means for marketing' rather than 'marketing to pay for racing'. They can't bear to lose those sweet sponsorship dollars Checo brings in or the PR power of Danny Ric, so they're leaning on Max to do all the winning. This is what I hate about modern F1.
9:26 nah it was not really effective we have seen that sense Daniel left Red Bull for Renault. i dont agree with the "jr team" approach at all. i think Red Bull really need to make sure RB are NOT a jr team, cuz jr teams are just a competition blocker, to block other teams to enter F1 and produce more competition on the field.
Daniel performs only under a certain car style, it was the same with Vettel and Raikkonnen in 2014. Give them a car that is not their style they look amateurish, or at best are beaten by their teammates at all races. This was the same for Ricciardo in 2021 (1st half of the season as his second half was good after his win) and 2022. When the car works they look like nothing could/should beat them - Ricciardo 2014, Vettel 2011-2013 and Raikkonen 2003-05. If Ricciardo goes back to RBR he is going to need a car that works to his style, otherwise his return is pointless
I think Yuki will not get the Red Bull seat, regardless of any merit based system. They will keep saying he isn't ready, or whatever the excuse is, but I don't think he is even in consideration. My guess is the links and sponsorship with Honda, and the way that they are going to start making their own engine from 2026, they don't want to put him into the main car. That is why I am predicting Ricciardo will partner Verstappen next year, Perez will leave the team entirely, and Lawson will join the second team, and eventually replace Ricciardo (or Verstappen should he choose to leave, as every news outlet loves to suggest)
To me he’s definitely good enough to be in f1. The problem is red bull has 5 drivers good enough to be in f1 and are surprisingly afraid to be cut throat even though that is what they have been previously known for.
RB is soo secretive about their driver agreements, I was always under the impression Danny was a defacto pay driver (using his Mclaren payout) or driving for free. Which would obviously affect a merit based promotion within RB.
Ahhh mate what's so hard to understand about the Checo decision. Redbull clearly don't want to have to pay him out by breaking his contract before the end of the season. It's simply a case of at what point in the constructors championship is it more expensive to drop and few places and get less money or pay him out. I am assuming there is a performance clause in his contract that will allow them to part ways at the end of the year. I would not be surprises to see him axed after this year is done......Ricciardo to the top team......and Lawson to RB
I like Daniel’s personality but he is NOT the answer for Redbull. Tsunoda has outperformed him the majority of the season and deserves a better chance but Redbull won’t give him the chance cuz he’s not charismatic and his English is not good. Checo has the sponsorships behind him at least. He can perform better with a car that suits him, we’ve all seen it and he can play the team game, we’ve all seen that.
I do love your videos and I watch most of them but recently they’ve been stretched out too much to get to 20 mins. It feels like quite a bit of waffle/filler and repetition. Shorter, punchier videos about 10 mins would be good. I tend to get halfway then find something else to watch. Just some honest feedback - best of luck!
Yeah, it's starting to get like Aldas, who I gave up on because he was needlessly waffling on to push his videos in to the 10-20-minute range, when he could basically make all his points in a 5-8-minute video.
Not complicated. He lucked his way into yet another drive for , in this case vcarb, after an utterly dismal set of failures with teams he tried to convince you would be the next big thing. He was given the chance to show he was better than tsunoda and therefore by some weird inference that he would perform better than Perez whom it would appear has been given dodgy equipment. However he has been beaten by tsunoda and be definition is no longer wanted by red bull so will be sacked at the end of the year. It would be an embarrassment to sack Perez and put Riccardo in that seat. He is the very epitome of a driver that does not deserve that seat.
The only reason he is still around is that mediocre former Ferrari driver of a father in law of his and Marko being compatriots and bosom buddies. Yet no one mentions it.
@@mikespearwood3914 oh come on, do your homework!!!! ... I dropped all the hints here... One more for the lazy... He used to own 50% of Scuderia Toro Rosso, and still holds stocks in the current VCarb... How else would that smiling mediocrity of his son in law still have a seat otherwise? 😂😂😂😂
I think they're just waiting out the contract clock on Liam. They'll let him 'free' once he doesn't have any seat options. It would be a horrible thing to do, but in my limited time watching F1, Red Bull doesn't seem to give AF about screwing people. They are ruthless. If your confused about a motive, it's usually something to do with money.
I dun think Daniel shld rush to get the 2nd seat. The 2nd seat of RBR is a career killer...so he has to really be prepared and ready to hit the ground running.
