I just discovered Danny and he is a classic! He needs more US exposure. He's right up there with the best. Smart, insightful, honest and spot-on! We need comics now more than ever. They're all that's going to keep us from tearing ourselves apart!
Just saw Danny tonight at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Been a fan of his since he first started coming to Australia which I believe at the time I was about 14 or 15 at the time. Now, 15 years later, I finally got to see him. He is, hands down, the funniest man! I hope I bump into him here in Melbourne and have a good chat with him as he seems very friendly.
Danny Bhoy is a RIOT! I don't know when I've enjoyed a comedian more. I especially like that most of his stuff is clean. He uses a lot of personal experiences, and they're just astoundingly funny. Clever man! How in the world has he got 21 down votes? Are they brain dead or missing a funny bone?
Danny talks about being half Scottish half Indian - try being half Kiwi (New Zealander) and half Australian (Tasmanian to be exact!). Talk about the two headed sheep jokes I get all the time LOL
I wish he'd come back and do it again. He had such a mix of guests and he didn't necessarily ask the "obvious" questions. Imo, he was like Graham Norton in the sense that I always sensed that his guests were comfortable and enjoyed it.
This bloke is class.... Better than most UK comics he gets UK comics whereas America doesnt understand interacial things.. I saw Danny and I saw him in Bristol in person and he was class so funny
Seeing him in March at the NAC. CAN't wait. Better stock up on Depends. He totally kills me. When he does the bit about when Scots sing their national anthem "Oh Flower of Scotland" and add stuff at the end of each line, I just about fell off my chair...tears streaming down my face. Very funny. Can u imagine a double bill with Danny Bhoy and Billy Connelly? I think I'd blow a gasket.
Canuckmom1958 know exactly what you mean by that !! Both very funny men ! I find with the Scottish sense of humour and the Irish as well ( im of Irish heritage) it's more a dry wit type of humour that you find with very few other people in the world except for maybe here in Australia but then again lots of people like myself of Irish or Scottish heritage so the humour is similar!
I'm glad Danny doesn't just go on about his race I think often it's lazy comedy, oh we're like this, white guys are like this hahaha they can't say anything though or it's racist.
How can he have been the only mixed race in his town when he has an older brother 😳 (i know this because his brother is one of my teachers at school...) 😂
So he basically avoided his dad's relatives for two months..like that's not strange? I don't know of how more you could insult people..they came all that way and you basically ignore them or just nod ? I wonder how is father felt about that bahaviour. Sure he got had to give up his room and shit...but when you have zero interest or desire to know that side of *your father* ....guess what? *He's not going to feel like he belongs* . Ironic that Danny says he was surprised his father could use the internet- you don't know shit about him period.
Why are you so angry about it? He did say he couldn't speak their language, and they couldn't speak English either. And he was not the one who chose to move to the garage.
