He wasn't fella. Who did he beat ? He NEVER overcame adversity in the ring and Holyfield and Lewis faced far better competition their whole careers. Greatness isn't how good you look, it's about achievements in your era.
@DoctorF1984 ha ha the tyson that hit low, butted, kneed in the groin, hit after the bell, elbowed, scraped his head across foreheads, tried to break arms and of course bit. He beat nobody apart from a terrified light heavy in Spinks and an old, inactive Holmes and fell apart EVERY SINGLE TIME HE MET RESISTANCE. Holyfield and Lewis faced far better competition their whole careers and Holyfield in particular had more will and character in his little finger than Tyson had in his whole body
@Noel-ji8nm You're clueless. Someone with a glass jaw goes down over a single punch. That was NEVER the case with Tyson. Also, your technical skill comment is pure trash. Tyson was one of THE most technical heavyweights of all time with his peek-a-boo style he learned from Cus. Older Tyson didnt have the same heart as prime Tyson. That's the difference.
@@rotaryperfection once his youth left him in 1988 he never fought that way again, he had great style 86/7/88 all his opponents were older accept two. However, he not only avoided the biggest rematch in history, he avoided then top fighters : Bowe Tua Morrison Foreman Ibeabuchi Mercer both Klitschko's Briggs Mcall Rahman etc even Moorer. Choosing names McNeely Mathis McBride etc is not Greatness! His teenage style was great. There's other champions CVs to compare with.
I remember watching this live I was cheering Tyson got whooped but now over 15 years later it breaks my heart seeing the look in his eyes when he got dropped. He looked drained and now knowing how his life was and how much he went through and how hard he has worked to have a happy life and has a very good heart and is a very nice humble human being and is not the monster he was made out to be. I'm so happy for Mike and where he is at in life now. This fight hurt my heart.
Yeah this was Depressing to watch, it's like watching your Favorite Hero get Destroyed by someone inferior right before your eyes. You don't know how to React.
@Jason Voorhees Roy's footwork is non existant at this point. Both look even in hand speed though, I think Roy's chin is also non existant as well at this point.
@@johncastle1984 yep it is a guy doing something he don't wanna do.. He ain't I love with fighting anymore.. He was fighting to be the best until hollyfield humbled him twice.. Mike gave a spirited effort but hollyfield beat him.... So after that I don't think he believed he was able to be the best so he was fighting 4 money... Maybe he got one last bit of hope an drive that he cud knock out Lewis but that was such a horrible beating 4 Mike... He knew fine well he weren't beating no Lewis. Holly or klit etc. So he was fighting guys he was meant to beat 4 money An then sadly he started even losing to them in last 2 fights.. So it was deffo game over
Тайсон в 86 году разобрал бы его на части и упаковал...нашли чему радоваться.. Майк легенда и я всегда буду восхищаться им как чемпионом..Он лучшее что было в мире бокса
@@2011Transformersdotm bro I've been boxing at amateur level for 12 years. Why have I never gone pro? Never been good enough or ever decided it would be a good idea for me or my my life. Have I won more than I've lost? Yes. Have I lost to opponents I thought I'd walk through? Yes. Have I been knocked down? Yes. Have I knocked blokes down? Yes. Bro, I'm not claiming to be anything spectacular or special. All I said was, if you're in the game you're in it to win it or you'll lose. Simple as that. No need to start coming at me.
B H you don‘t get it. These boxers Go through hell and back because of Other reasons. Tyson Did not loose because of his age or what Ever you call it, you can See that He still had that Fire. Ofcourse he can’t be as good as He was When He was Young. He lost because He had a lot of problems in his life. It’s Not about loosing or winning in a boxing Match. Loosing doesn‘t put you down in boxing. No disrespect to you but It‘s easy how you talk if you got no problems in life. Many people Talk if it was only hitting eachother and they do Not see it as a negative sport, it has a lot of Bad sides.
@@2011Transformersdotm hey listen mate, I appreciate your writing to me. Just take a read of my first comment and perhaps understand it? Did I mention anything that you have spoke about lol? No. I simply said if you're gonna play the game. You're gonna win or lose. And so either way, to either opponent, team, country whatever.. a win is a win. Simple as that. I love Tyson. I'm a huge fan. But again, a win is a win. Regardless of what's going on in your life or their life. A win. Is a win.
I have got a movie DVD of Mike Tyson as a guest appearance with Paul Hogan in Crocodile Dundee In Los Angeles I am dedicating this movie DVD to my old school friends who are both sisters as I hope to see them both again very soon to Chris and Hester from Billyxxx
Mike tyson will always be the champ in my eyes, I grew up watching him pound the sh,,,t out of every guy that had the stones to fight him..no one ever hit harder than Mike Tyson, a legend in boxing forever and wiliams would of been laying down in round 1 if Mike was in his prime,he knows it to Tyson was a TANK with big guns' Live on Mike Tyson the most dangerous boxer of modern times but yet has a big heart
Yes, Tyson was no Foreman. Big George won the title in his mid-40s. That's a real champion. Tyson was a boxer who bullied his way to the title, because opponents didn't know what to make of him. Once much taller fighters figured out how to keep little Mike away, he was done. Lewis was his age when he pounded him to the canvas.
@@franksmith541 then why did Louis wait 15 years later to fight him? And not in the 80s when Tyson was killing shit none of them guys wanted to fight her until he lost to buster Douglas. Lewis and Holyfield caught Tyson in his downfall
Mike , You always a champion for me. You would have finish this fight in 1 round in your prime days. You are legend and Once a legend always a legend. Love ya 😇
i hear these excuses all the time tyson wasnt in his prime was tyson in his prime when he fought buster douglas he was 23 got used has a punching bag so what your excuse for him now
Flashes of Mike’s greatness in the 1st round a little in the second. This was not a game Mike Tyson, this was strictly for a paycheck and no one can fault him for it. Still a legend and Danny Williams is nothing more than a trivia question.
@@hi-dl4kw I don't care what he said, he's bs too & you ate it up..Had he ko'd Williams - which he nearly did - the conversation would be quite different..anytime an opponent withstood Tyson's ferocious assault & fought back(see Buster Douglas), Tyson becomes a stationary target without making any adjustments..Tyson was a warrior in this fight, he couldn't get his signature quick ko & he faced a guy that was no 🍅 can.. give that other warrior his due respect.... that's it Don't wanna hear the excuses, e.g.'s, paycheck, partying blah blah...you think he cared about the IRS? Gimme a break. Partying, that's a joke too.. just crying excuses & disregarding William's heart, ability & chin. Tyson's boxing IQ went into the gutter once Don King got his slimy tentacles on him.

майк уже по старел тут, он уже устал,но для меня он самый великий боксер спасибо за его прекрасные бои в моем детстве по сей день нету лучше него даже не такой бокс щас как в те 90 годы!
@@Boom-tq8ct Well, there's an exception to that, because Holifield was playing dirty LOL however, there's pictures circulating the Net that shows, the both of them taking pictures together.
@@Boom-tq8ct I see, you're being sarcastic lol., but of course it was a good few years after, because Mike was still a little bitter after the hard fought lost and Holifield didn't take to kindly of how Mike marred off nearly half of his ear however, the fact still remains, they've let bygones be bygones.
I owe it all to my father cusatine. I miss you. U are the reason who and what I am. Thanks Dad. Lost but never forgotten around the holiday season. I’ll see you on dah other side ONE DAY WHEN THE HIGHER POWER CALLS ME HOME FOR GOOD.
Tyson é uma lenda no entanto não tinha mais o vigor da década de 80 , Tyson sofreu com embates pessoais e com uma condenação um tanto questionável ... Neste combate já se percebia que não era mais o mesmo!!!!
Non of the great heavyweights ever retire when they should. Whether it was Jack Johnson, Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes, or Mike Tyson. This is how they make their living and much of what they know. The mind says yes I can and the body says otherwise. Hearts of a warrior.
@@moedem And another one inventing feeble excuses for Tyson losing. You know why Mike Tyson lost this fight? Because Danny Williams took everything Mike could throw and still knocked Mike out. Stop with the pathetic excuses you Tyson fans always invent. And please. Don't reply with your "ifs", "buts" and "primes" lol, thanks.
1like the way waited3 seconds to start counting then stopped again to tell danny to go.to a nuètral cormer were he alreay was .sad for mike but i hate to see biased refs like that
Mike didn’t want to be there, he still had the ability to beat a lot of these guys he just really didn’t want to, what I mean is his heart and his mind weren’t into it anymore, and that’s okay, it’s okay to move on in life, he had a legendary career
Once you age in boxing you have too use the mind over matter as matter is fading so mind has to make it matter end of!! Tyson was in a savage battle with drug abuse not training like he should have been and more about drugs and party than boxing but people still where willing too pay good money too watch him just for that possibility a glimmer of old Mike still existed in him somewhere!! Seen more of the old mike in his 2020 training videos than we did in last dozen fights he had for sure!! I don't want too see him box properly again but few charity exibitions against some of the aged pro's who are of his time too Danny Williams rematch would only end in Tyson's favour now with say cutting it down too 4x 2 min rounds head gear on if you want too wear it etc!! will give the old boys a reason too claw some fitness back and everyone and a good cause gets a pay day out of it because no charity works for free always some one being paid!!!
Mike tore his left knee miniscus towards the end of the first round. If it wasn't for that injury he would have clearly finished Williams in the second round for sure. That injury completely took the mobility and power out of Mike's punches. He actually went in for surgery the following day for it.
People shouldn't forget, Williams was an exceptional fighter. Tyson might or might not be in peak condition, but Williams successfully defended his British and Commonwealth heavyweight title with only his left hand. With a knockout. There's no shame losing to a man of Williams' calibre. And Tyson needed to lose a couple times in the ring to make him a better winner. If he hadn't learnt to lose, he might not be the winner he is today. He loses with the same gracious humility that he showed when he won. THAT's why he's still a winner today. And people should also remember, Danny Williams was no chump.
@@tommackay7433 Yes because hes still fighting when he's well out of his prime, he's 50 for gods sake. He was 34 and 3 at the time he fought Mike Tyson.
I will never understand why boxers celebrate when they beat an aged great...you would think that a supposed warrior would know in his heart and soul that they didn't beat a prime fighter but instead beat a fighter at the end of their rope
Gotta have a warrior's heart to be a warrior. Larry Holmes felt awful after his fight with Ali and had 2 tell the ref the fight was over. There's an honor code in reverence to the greats.
Even though Tyson was past his prime here, he landed some very powerful punches to both the head and body of Williams. Those body shots were especially brutal. Give Danny Williams credit for taking punches that would have knocked out plenty of heavyweights. He deserves credit for fighting back and winning this fight. UPDATE...not sure why some are misinterpreting my original comment. I am trying to give Williams credit for how he fought back against Tyson. Tyson fans refuse to give him credit for beating Mike. So I did it.
@@tgh223 Of course not. But he was about 38 when he fought Williams. Clearly past his prime. But like I said in the other comment.. Tyson landed several big shots and Williams deserves credit for taking them and fighting back the way he did.
If Mike could not knock you out within two rounds, he had a hard time going the distance and winning. He had short-term skills, not skills for the distance.
At 6:51 of this video Tyson blew out his ACL, badly, operated on the next day. Nobody even mentions it to this day! It’s plain to see the way this fight is going prior to Mike destroying his knee while throwing a left hook! He should have pulled out when he went back to corner.
@@johndrake694 @John Drake that is mostly untrue. Just look up the names, and note that he was never dropped in 2nd career and won the title again. The early part, yes, but there are excellent and also dangerous fighters too. Tyson and Bowe both arguably avoided him, too. I think Tyson has a chance, but if you look at Tyson's mixed success against big strong guys and consider Foreman's size, chin, power, jab and will, Foreman would be favoured to win.
Everyone loses sometime in life. It's about what you do with that loss. Mike has made significant improvements since this fight with his himself, his choices in life and hopefully his future.
Remember that an old lion is still dangerous. Tyson is certainly one of the best boxers that none of mother have not childbirth like him. His place is always in our hearts.🤜🤜🤜🤜
@@leonardkoqak741 Mohammad Ali was also one of the good ones, but Tyson's boxing method was different, he always fought forward and I think he was the best. We had a lot of good boxers and we still have. my comment was for on this fight.
Perhaps Tyson is a legend. However, his poor behavior in his later fights, his admission of drug taking , trying to injure opponents arms in clinches, biting, quitting in final fight, and perhaps against Danny Williams too, pushing a ref over, are remembered and considered in his overall career. Perhaps if he retired much earlier, then more people would consider him a true great ! I would always expect a peak Ali to beat a peak Tyson. Perhaps an 18 year old Tyson could have beaten an 18 year old Ali. I am certain that Ali in his mid 20s would have beaten Tyson. Just my opinion, but a well considered one, from a boxing historian and fan !
Obviously you must be EXTREMELY stupid or EXTREMELY young to call the Most KNOCKED OUT Heavyweight Champ the Greatest. Ever hear of Ali? Joe Louis? Rocky Marciano? George Foreman? Joe Frazier. Tyson is the MOST Overrated Fighter of All Times!
@@thespy7795 I will second that my freind 👏👏 I have never heard so many deluded people , Tyson was exiting in a lack lustre era, he would have never lived with the legends you mentioned.🤙
The Hug Saved Him, No Doubt About It. He Has Been Knocked Down In The First And Subsequent Rounds By Tyson. A Hug Ought To Be A Penalty Beside The Head Boot.
Pet theory of mine. Tyson didn't have the mindset nor the diciplined lifestyle that fight. He took the fight against Jake Paul to have a shot at the 'final fight' he and all of us deserve. Win or lose. Just a last glimpse of the warrior.
Regardless of Mike tyson winning or losing I'll always LOVE MIKE TYSON HE IS STILL THE BEST AND ( ALWAYS WILL BE YOU GO MIKE GO AND GET EM GET EM ALL🤜🤛
Mike's knee ligament was damaged in 4 places in the 1st round he wanted to keep fighting and could barley stand. This is why he was wild in the last round and could not move well. Judges had the fight 3 to 0 for Tyson until Williams knocked Mike out. 10-9 10-7 10-9 30 to 25 Tyson. Mike needed to get in top shape he was over 233lbs. Mike's best fighting weight was also 216 to 220.
Tyson could easily win, but he couldn't stand up after the KO due to a knee injury. 6:46 The time when the injury came to his knees !!! But he never gave up !!
Your still a legend in boxing history, my idol mike"iron man" Tyson, we miss you and we love you here in the Philippines, rest of in peace iron mike Tyson....
This is the time when Tyson thought he only needed to land one punch to KO his opponent. Forgeting that in his prime, it wasn't the fact he had power in one punch. It was the punchers in bunchers, the timing the accuracy that precision the hunger that made him devastating..
