Peekaboo style at its finest. He used his constant head movement to set up his punches too. The thing I find most impressive was how he seamlessly changed stances constantly. He would knock so many people out with lead left hooks because he shifted to southpaw as he was throwing it so he could follow through with his left leg planted back and shift back into orthodox for the next punch. It's really not easy to move like that and generate that kind of power with both hands. His technique was flawless.

One of Iron Mike's many greatest assets was his monstrous ANGER. He was mentored by one of boxing's early masters, Cus G and that was a hallmark of Cus' strategies as well. Bobbing his head was also a signature Cus move of his significant training. Speed, low center of gravity, brawn and ANGER! What a combination, and hasn't been seen since Iron Mike retired. Nobody worked the speed bag as ferociously as Tyson. Literally as brutal as a HUMAN TANK with no other distractions from the time he was a teenager, fighting every match like his life depended on it!

That reminds me of a fight, not against Tysion, but with a fellow Brit, Amir Khan ... The guy was a talented amateur. Hell, he won an Olympic Sliver medal in his weight. After that, he decided to turn pro, which everyone thought was a mistake. Even Frank Warren, the famous promoter, himself said that Khan still had a lot to learn, as although he won 101-9 fights as an amateur, the Pro circuit is altogether different. That saying, his first few professional fights went well, until a fight came along that was a preliminary one towards an actual title bout, and the first match to air on the pay-per-view Sky Box Office. Hardly surprising, given that Khan held a Olympic Silver medal, that fight against a relatively unknown Brazilian, was hyped to the stratosphere. Sky made it sound like it was going to be the fight of the decade. But the Brazilian was no push over. He may have fought less than 50 fights, but had zero losses, and most of his wins were pure KOs. I remember all of that well, because I went to a pub with a great mate of mine, to watch the fight. I ordered in the pints, just before the bell went, while my mate went for a piss. In that time, Khan was knocked down, twice. First time, he got up, and although a bit wobbly, still threw a fair good punches. But then he got sledgehammered, sending into a corner, before sliding down the ropes, onto the mat, for a brief nap. The whole thing lasted less than 50s. So my mate came back, looked up the the screen, and wondered what the hell had happened. He wouldn't believe me that Khan was floored in the the time it took for him to have a piss, until they showed a replay, in both real time, and slow motion. My friend, whom boxed as an amateur himself --- and learned that whilst he had a strong left hand, had a glass jaw, so he quit whilst still ahead --- shooked his head in disbelief at how much of a glass jaw Khan had ... and still has ... So, yeah, been in a kinda similar situation ... you get some beers in, settiling yourself down for it to go the distance, only for it to end even before you finish your first pint ...

Iron Mike Tyson was, and still is, the Greatest fighter of all time. He also always showed tremendous sportsmanship, something little to nobody ever talks about. When Mike knocked out his opponent, he always waited until the ref signaled the fight was over, then he was the 1st person rushing over, to help the downed man to his feet, to make certain that his opponent was alright. Money has changed definitely. Boxers get paid more to build hype for a fight. The camps are still usually only like 1-2 months, but the hype of who is he fighting next builds anticipation and that brings more cash. Mayweather (idk how to spell it) did that the best, so he got paid the best. His style was pretty boring, but the hype and anticipation of seeing him lose brought millions to his pockets.

Paul None In his prime Tyson was probably a top 10 heavy of all time. Now, anyone who puts Mike in the top 3 or so, just shows they know absolutely nothing about the sport of prize fighting. I like Mike and have nothing but respect for what he has done with his life. Those idiots who believe that Tyson (at 53) could beat a descent fighter make me laugh. They talk about Tyson's one punch KO power (which he never had) for the reason why he could whip anybody. Tyson was a cumulative puncher, not a one shot type like say a young Roberto Duran in his prime. No, Mike hit you you 5,6,7 punches or more to weaken you and crack you that great uppercut to put his man down and out. Stay retired Michael & stay healthy bro'.

Tyson only about 5'10" and fought guys 6' 3"+ He was always at a disadvantage. Yet he was so fast in the ring and could duck the shots more than anyone.

Imagine being on the wrong side of his street aged 13 or 14. He’s lucky not to have killed someone - brutal hitter. Respect - despite his indiscretions - none of us is an angel. This guy actually brought the theatrics of Hollywood’s Rocky Balboa to life, launching opponents off their feet and onto their backs, out cold. 🇬🇧❤️🇺🇸
