A very nice example of a mid sixties Dansette Record Player from the UK. Wile I'd never heard of this brand, Dansette became a household name in the late 1950s and 60s, much like Hoover. The restoration was quite straight forward and the sound, while not really not stereo, is nevertheless pleasing.

Cheap and cheerful - an old expression that sums it up. The ingenuity that allowed limited means to enjoy a basic "stereo" sort of sound is evident. Dansette was a well-known brand of its time back in the 60s. Instead of bass and treble, the basic design of this price range usually substituted "tone" control instead on players of this type. The auto-changer added the attraction for younger customers to load a pile of 45rpm pop discs.

Hey Mark, I read that Dansette were the largest seller of players back in the 60's in the UK. If you were going to but a record player you would have to buy a Damsette, just as if you bought a vacuum cleaner it had to be a Hoover. Thanks for watching 😀

Nice, I think that could be a low hour record player by the way the pc board looks. A lot of times the pc board has that burnt in color at the output and rectifier tube areas on the bottom of the pc board. Looks well-built and the ceramic sockets which are heat resistance prevented that the burnt in color. Can't wait to see the turntable repair.

Yes, it was very clean. I've not had much edxperice with those circuit boards, and I don't like them as they remind me of today's electronics lol I've nearly finished the turntable, all looks good

I think googie searching Dansette schematics you may find some at the radio workshop UK site. Sound from both speakers should be the same as they are controled by a double gang balance control. Should clean the controls and it should sound equally good . Great job without using any schemaitcs and testing it with the other record player.
