Dante's Inferno: (The 9 Circles of Hell) - The Divine Comedy - See U in History - Dante Alighieri Art: Paulo Vaccaro #Mythology #SeeUinHistory #History #MythologyExplained
@@yaboigamerdouji7573 Well, Dante's inferno did contain alot of elements from different stories, didn't it? Maybe if i find stories that have elements related to this i can trace it back to the stories they originate from and find oldest fanfic that still exists.
I love how Dante's Inferno is a combination of greek myths and catholic myths. And I love the artwork, it ,the voice-over, and Dante's work itself. A masterpiece
@@tribulation138 it was also a political device as well since he referenced individuals in his lifetime that have wronged him and exiled him from Florence.
I'm Italian and you have perfectly explained the division of Dante's Inferno. Dante was and is one of our best Italian writers, I'm glad you were able to explain the Inferno in a really detailed way, it's so well done that I got chills.💗
I love the fact that there are no obstacles infront of the entrance just so that people with disabillities dont have a problem going in, and for the fact that there are no doors it sends a positive message that everyone is welcomed
I can't even count how many thousands of retellings I've heard of this. But I've never heard it narrated so well. This is one top-notch "reader," and speaker!
Dante’s Divine Comedy is one of the greatest works ever written and this powerful retelling with artwork is really thrilling, made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck! I don’t think Dante meant it 100% literally, he used it as a vehicle for social and political satire and a wake up call to repentance. The main point of the punishments is to get people to repent: these sinners have got to realise fully the pain they’ve inflicted, the grief they’ve caused, and the righteousness of God’s justice, otherwise they’ll just go through eternity feeling terribly sorry for themselves. Some of them, such as Paolo and Francesca in the whirlwind of lovers, would do it all over again if they were alive, so they’ve not really repented at all. 😢
@@arletteniragira511 i understand Dantes inferno more as a satire about how blindly people believe in religion without thinking by themself.. guess thats why its called devine COMEDY..
@@donalain69 That's not how you are supposed to think about it. It's a "comedy" bc of the variety of ways of linguistic expressions, from comic to stately/solemn. And it's doesn't only talk about religion, but also politics, emotions, people, human suffering, morality, and only if you have read it you could understand. It's and incredible, immortal piece of artwork. Shame on those who judge without thinking, and deeply understanding.
I'm an avid reader ,lover and admirer of dark fantasies, crime thrillers and gothic genre. This, however, has traumatized me. Dante was,is and will always be the pioneer in what he has written. Hats off to the animators, musicians and the writers of this channel. Keep doing what you're doing! Love from India!
I think the actual reason was because Lucifer was trapped there to the waist level, Flapping his Wings, causing enormous winds that forever keep the Lake Cocytus frozen.
Another interesting fact about the neutrals is that they were also being punished by being forced to chase a banner that was moving insanely fast. In life, these souls did not have loyalty to anyone (in other words, they did not follow any banner). Now they forever chase the very thing that they had rejected.
Very well done! I can't help but marvel at the historical figures. Like Cleopatra, Judas, Ceasar, etc, etc, etc. And how their names & deeds are so remembered. How they will be known for all of humans existence! Crazy to think about considering the times they lived. To become so infamous. Despite living in a time where people were so disconnected.
Actually is called "Comedy" without "Divine". "Divine" was added by the printing of 1555 (Ludovico Dolce), as a reference to what Boccaccio said in his biography of Dante
I watch Dante inferno every couple years so I won't forget the story .the anime movie adaptation is awesome the way they introduce multiple drawing styles as the story progresses
Why not both? the evil a person commits will consistently outweigh good deeds. Baptism is simply the method of preventing that statement from being true. So that a person's small good will become great, and their great evil, nonexistent.
sigh the whole religion of Christianity is about “Control” like fr, it’s their choice so why force something that they don’t wanna do? it’s like forcing a child to eat food that they didn’t like, rip.
@@callthepolice4988 The act of baptism is, in short, "washing away your sins." It doesn't literally make you a better person, it is a way to ask God for forgiveness and a second chance to BECOME a better person
for some reason I get vibes from the Dantes inferno video game genre xD, some of the designs look nearly similar but an interesting take on the story! what's funny is this was a fanfiction written by Dante after his distain and dislike for the church since the current pope was doing very poor job, and what's ironic is they took this story in incorporated it into their canon
It perfectly describes life. Not after life but living life. Brilliant author with an amazing psychic capability to "channel". We assume there's after life to avoid recognizing that this is all about live, the pain each endures, the non negotiable consequence of our moral and ethical decisions. All layered, all personally consequential, all dynamic and ethernal. Welcome to Life.
What an incredible job! Seriously... The narration, the dark art, every layer described with wonderful description! I love Dante's Inferno and am always wanting to find out more! Bendeciones!
I have 'The Divine Comedy' in a leatherbound format! Its an amazing literary piece, with many fascinating concepts!! Always looking forward to Purgatory and Paradiso!!
Nice interpretation and summary! Great graphics and design too! The Divine Comedy is one of my favorite books. I've read Inferno twice and Purgatario once not to long ago. I'm yet to read Paradiso.
Beautiful video i love divine comedy but u forgot to say about the three heads of Lucifer pale yellow at right , red in the middle and black on the left . I can't wait for the next one
@@Phantom-ns8dm exactly, and why should we even be scared of "sinning" in the first place, when we could wilfully not harm others and just live righteous lives without getting forced to it?
@@ArmandoLuis1318 also the fact that the only time where god is shown and proven is when your dead. Like they literally made it up so poorly and people still believe it. You have to have a sub 70 iq to believe in god
This would've been very helpful for my preachings back in the day! I've read Devine Comedy but this is most comprehensive narrative I've ever heard! Covers so much various types of sins!
I love your channel. Excellent explanation.and illustration. It made it (in the words of my generation) "real". Glad I discovered it (or that the RU-vid algorithm discovered it for me). I love the Greek parables and tragedies, but I have forgotten more than I have learned. Your video is concise (like a historian s' lecture), clear. Instant subscribe and thumb's up. 👍
I always thought Dante inferno was of Roman? As a Greek it is very cool to see so much Greek mythology added in, Χάρος for the boat, Μίνως for the judge, the script on top of the archway for the gate is written in Greek and many more.
I'm in it. It's not so fun and alot of crying babies waiting for their loved ones. Think nursery in a quarantine at an airport, and airlines you booked with are Pan America World.
@@yeedig01 ppl like to call everything a rip off or copy cat of something else that game was called the god of war rip off and wannabe but it was amazing to me both games are.
You know what another great punishment would be? Having an image of paradise above them so they could see where they could have been if they had been faithful to God and been righteous in life instead of eternal suffering
1:07 the sign says: "install all the hope that enters here" with wrong tense and syntax sorry i am greek i couldnt leave it in greek the expression/syntax/grammar is not all but every "abandon every hope those who enter here"="εγκαταλείψτε κάθε ελπίδα όσοι εισέρχεστε εδώ" εδώ is here you can cut it is not mandatory
