Everyone working on these Disney plus shows should have to watch daredevil like they make them watch Superman . Daredevil is the gold standard of marvel tv .
“Isn’t Duality the very nature of being human though?” Wise words Achara.👏🏽👏🏽 Also if I were in Foggy’s position I would be pissed at Matt for lying to me for so long about his gift, but I would forgive him in the end because of all the good he had done. I’m a man who tries to see the whole picture and in the end (as reckless as Matt had been) he is right, we don’t live in a world that’s fair, sometimes we have to take action, even if it’s outside the law.
This episode drives home the lesson: Cherish the time you spend with your loved ones. Don't let too many opportunities to see them slip by without doing so. Someday, all the years, months and weeks you have to spend together will turn to days, hours and minutes, and you'll regret all those opportunities you had and missed.
Me too! But its because the conflict between foggy and matt. Man, it was heartbreaking. If I was Foggy, I would be pissed but most of all I would be sad and felt betrayed even though I would understand why he did it. I definitely would want a break but yes not immediately throwing away that nelson murdock sign 🥲
This is honestly my favorite episode of season 1. This was very emotional with Foggy and Matt’s friendship’s breaking apart and Ben’s wife have memory loss
This is one of my favourite episodes. Loved the flashbacks showing how they 1st met and how their relationship will change going forward. Interesting insight to how much the physical aspect took it's toll on Charlie was an interview I listened to with Cox where he said that he was so sore and bruised from episode 9 in the fight with Nobu that he loved and needed to just sit on a couch pretty much this whole episode.
Foggy wants to do the right thing by being legally fair, but at the same time thinks it's unfair to just know the truth. It makes his own skills as a lawyer come off as irrelevant because Matt "Just can/knows."
0:21 Oh wow. That is a little funny, but also interesting. This whole time Steph's been saying that Daredevil needs a suit, but didn't know what his suit would look like. And we all thought she'd find out in the S1 finale, but instead she watched the She-Hulk episode and that's where she found out what Daredevil would look like suited up (although it's a different color).
OMG! I literally just sat down with my chili cheese dogs (one is actually a smoked sausage), and was just thinking to myself: _"Ahh man, what the hell am I gonna watch? Can't find any good vids..."_ It's almost like this upload was meant for me specifically! You're timing couldn't be more legendary! 😍👍💖🔥🐐
loving the reactions to daredevil these days and the love the show gets is awesome. I felt bad for both matt and foggy and I really like there friendship. I still wanna give matt a hug tho
The disney mcu could never make an episode like this. The closest we got was seeing what happened to Marc in Moon Knight. This episode has the best portrayal of friendship in the mcu. Its dark as hell without losing a sense of humour and hope. This is peak marvel to me.
I understand why Foggy is so upset I always got the impression that despite Matt being his friend he is a huge inspiration and role model for Foggy. Foggy followed him away from a great paying career I would be pissed too
Besides the sense of a friend's betrayal, there's no way Foggy could continue being the kind of ethical lawyer he is if he were knowingly involved w a brutal criminal - it's like learning his partner is running a coke ring - this is the limitation of the genre - we can't really question Matt's intentions, cuz he's the "good guy" - but in reality it's psychotic behavior, and nobody would want to be around someone like this - even in a superior show like this, Matt's innate "goodness" is never once doubted, even when he's torturing people - I'm impressed how far they allow Foggy to stand his ground as someone betrayed, instead of succumbing to the pressure of genre and audience expectations and falling back into line as "our hero's buddy"
I live this episode. Top 3 of the season for me. It’s very well written. Grest way to give backstory. That was a dick move on Karen’s part. It’s nice to hear a female perspective on Foggy’s final reaction to learning about Matt. I’ve always thought he had an overly dramatic and annoying response.
That's what hawkeye was supposed to look like... and in general, in principle, street serials are not like clowning with stupid jokes, which is shown by the MCU Here each character is a personality....in phase 4 there is not a single new character that would be interesting to watch with the exception of the black knight and it is not known what will be made of him
I have a question but it is a spoiler for later this season and the 3rd season... What bugs me is that foggy has such an intense reaction here when finding out that Matt is doing something outside the law, which will jeopardize Foggy's whole career if it came out as he will be accused of being an accomplice and hence, is very mad and hurt about it to an extent that he sort of leaves their office, but in season 3 when Karen reveals that she killed James Wesley (sorry if I spelt his name wrong) to him, he supports her. Now I get that they are different things, but Karen did lie to him for quite a long time (1 whole season) but also, the fact that if this information came out Foggy's career will be jeopardized even more and the accomplice thing still stands because when this event of Karen killing James Wesley happened, she was still working as an assistant for Foggy and Matt. So his reactions just don't add up.
obviously both sides are right between the two but like I feel for foggy. even if I agree with Matt more. Matt is breaking the law and it can get him and foggy and Karen in danger
I have a feeling that season one will just be canon because season 2 seems like it would be tough to make canon and season 3 seems like it would be tough to make canon because of season 2, I just hope the writers and directors watch the netflix show to get a overall feel for the character.
Yeah, then you compare this to anything that Disney Marvel put out for a few years, now... It's day and night, water and wine, etc. Writing, character development and some action is everything that makes the movies and tv shows great... or shit.
All y'all in the comments acting like you wouldn't react exactly like Foggy if you were put in the same position 😆 So if you found out your business partner at a law firm and your best friend in the whole world was a criminal and liked to pulverize people at night, you'd just be like "oh yeah dude, rock on!" Get real LOL
duality where there is a middle path. how can you be both an opressor and a savior? i mean maybe you can argue that is what he has already been doing. killing the poor to save the city (though how killing the poor saves a city is beyond me. as is running crime in said saved city lol its a THING bro). whats that old saying? the need of the many out way the need of the few? the many are the poor, the few are the rich. so he (kingpin) should be sacrificing the rich for the poor. build NEW, SAFE, CLEAN, AFFORDABLE housing, not for the ultra rich but for the poor. raise the prices of these fancy buildings he already owns. go kill the rich and take their money and companies for your own, not targeting the rich. so for me, nah you cant be both an oppressor/colonizer AND a savior, when the ones you are trying to save (the rich) arent in any trouble
Foggy was...weirdly whiny. "You LISTENED to her heartbeat without her PERMISSION???" Really? "Yes. I listened to her burp once without asking first, too." In law, if you do it in public you have no expectation of privacy. Just because Matt hears better and more does not make it unethical. And at NO point was Foggy like: "You SAVE people! That's SO cool!" Foggy was just selfish and self centered in this. I lost some respect for him in this episode.
I was truly annoyed with Foggy in this episode. I get that you’re mad but he’s acting like an upset girlfriend, and Matt is out there protecting people when the law won’t.
He's not just mad, he trusted Matt and sacrificed a very lucrative job to partner with him, based on his trust, which he finds out was a lie. This also jeopardises foggys whole career and could possibly be implicated as an accomplice.

@@chinmayudyavar won't be jeopardized at all, since Karen acted completely on self defense, nothing illegal. Matt is practicing vigilantism which is illegal. And foggy didn't leave a Jon to open up shop with Karen and knows her for a few years only
That Karen alert on the phone was like a warning to me that what she was doing in the episode was going to have a a very bad conclusion to someone in the show. I could feel it the first time I watched the series I just didn't know who. One of the reasons why I don't like Karen. If she had let it go a character would still be alive in the series. This was a significent turning point in Matt and Foggy's relationship. I understandhow Foggy felt and I would've needed some space to think of how I wanted to handle it. That pervy dad got what was coming to him as far as I'm concerned. Episode and reaction was great. Until next time 👍👍✌out.
