Great video I have just read House of X/Power of X!! As someone who never read X-Men, who never watched the OG X-Men animated series until now, as someone who has a very vague memory of watching pieces of the Fox X-Men Movies. I liked House of X/Power of X, and I found the Jonathan Hickman’s information pages to be very helpful. How it gives out basic information (Mutant “levels” along with the concept of level etc) while going in depth with new information (Krakoa’s physiology, and its potential of growing medicine and gates. along the internal working of Orchis and the factions that formed Orchis) Orchis is cool, Nimrod is just awesome. How Nimrod is a super powerful sentinel but with a simple somewhat innocent mind/A.i. I could see Nimrod as a kid; who you’ve told not to press the red bottom and all he wants to do is pressing the red button. I am so interested to see what’s next for the Krakoa Age and where it goes in the future. X-Men “97 is truly amazing a beautiful blend of classic X-Men animated series nostalgia with a modernize flare. Bastion is truly diabolical and it is very cool they found a way to tie Bastion’s origins to the original animated series. You should do an overall season review video and a video specifically about the ending, with theories and your opinions on comic storyline they could be using. When do you think Mr Sinister worked for Bastion, was Mr Sinister’s plan in the original X-Men Animated Series all for Bastion? Mr Sinister wanted Jean and Scott’s genes from the beginning
Damn right Shadow Of The Green Goblin is on this list! Coy sold it well but when I tell you out of all the comics I’ve read (30….I’m no comic expert but I know a lot, just need more money to buy comics) the Gwen Stacey and her mum talking is so so heartbreaking and so well written. Also, I’m going to start reading this FF, my question is how is Doom in this run? He’s my second favourite Marvel character besides Spidey?
This is a great week! Last week i got daredevil 1-8 and birds of prey 1-8 and im excited to catch up on those! I’m also on issue 6 of F4 and issue 8 of Doctor Strange. Also got completely caught up on Avengers, Invincible Iron Man, all of the current Ultimate runs, all Blood Hunts and a couple more. Also just picked up this weeks comics and about to dive into those!
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤ Great finally for X-Men 97. I forgot to answer you on the react with Greg about “pogrom”, it’s a Russian word meaning destruction and pillage against the jewish people in Russia for ethnics reason. The word is also used to refer to other attacks against the Jewish in several European countries. Since Magneto know his history well it hit harder in the context he used it ❤❤ Much love
I started off really iffy on Birds of Prey, really only because the first issue technically spoiled the end of the first arc of Green Arrow (not really its fault, I know, but the association was still there). Even with that, though, the book eventually genuinely won me over, and it’s now become one of my most anticipated books each month. Love what they’re doing win Sin and Megaera (if I remember that name correctly).
I haven’t read any comics at all, but whenever I see a trailer reaction on reels rejects you’d have so much appreciation, insight and love for it and I always liked that about you it’s the passion and I just wanna say thanks for everything that you do and your knowledge of things is really nice and inspiring it almost gets me more excited for things to come. The 2 things in marvel I’m excited for is Secret Wars and the hope to see God Emperor Doom and Daredevil Born Again… let’s just say I’m very excited 🎯😉
Thanks for the weekly wisdom, as always. I keep wondering what the Black Panther and Spidey 2099 boards are that flank your Deadpool bust. Are they skateboards?
Here to enjoy and support. I rarely comment, but Coy, as usual, your knowledge and love of comics gives me the greatest joy. I always want to hear your opinion of the TVs and Movies because of your comic knowledge. I love comics, the visual story telling is great for my ADHD brain.
Coy, though I read the original Wolverine series for a bit back in the 1980s, I've never been a big fan of his solo comics over time. Maybe I'm more of a Cyclops guy. Knowing that, do you think I should read back in this about-to-end run on Marvel Unlimited, or just wait for the new number 1?
Personally I’d wait for this new #1 I really REALLY dug this Benjamin Percy run! But I’d go back to #1 on it. So I’d try out this new 1 and if you dig it grabs trades of Percy’s from the beginning!
Thanks Coy for another great comic book review! Love it! I know this is a petty thing to focus on but I really want the DD emblem on the Daredevil Born Again series LOL. But I’m still excited!
Look this is old news by now but Coy’s Capacity to just tap into and summarize certain storylines with various comics on the fly is just downright impressive. I remember the first time I watched him talk about comics in the collider days and I was blown away. True Fan through and through keep going Bro!
UPDATE on the f4 cast!Natasha Lyonne has been added to the cast, I think she’s going to be play Alicia masters especially if John Malkovich is going to play “puppet master”
Just started ‘Something is Killing the Children’ last night(yes, I know bold decision) but I am absolutely loving it! I never thought I’d like comics that didn’t have superheroes in them but I like this genre of comics more than I thought I would. Thank you for getting me back into comics. Sending tons of love and hugs from Thailand ❤️
Oh yessss Love to hear comments just like this! So appreciate you letting me know (and for discovering something outside your comfort zone!) Thank you!
Hey coy, I was jw, I have already caught up on ultimate spiderman…loving it btw!!! But I just found out there’s like the ultimate invasion and universe books before that…do I HAVE to read those to understand more? Or is it just extra material? (Not in a bad way obviously lol but like ya know)
@@CoyJandreau thank you!! And thanks for always answering every single comment!! One of the many reason you are my favorite RU-vid…don’t tell Greg and John tho🫣
This week in comics. So many amazing titles. "Agatha All Along" its release date will be a bit bittersweet for me, it airs on my dad's birthday. Sadly I lost my father to cancer, but he was able to watch the first two episodes of X-Men 97. And oh my stars and garters, he loved it. My dad absolutely loved all things Marvel, DC, and comics style storytelling. It feels so weird without him here any more. But I am thankful I knew him when he was alive.
About 15-20 physical then 20-30 digital! (I buy all the books I collect , spidey / X-men / Deadpool etc) Then the rest are a matter of how the publisher gets me reader copies
@@CoyJandreau Thanks for the response! How is it reading digital? I've just started getting back into comics again and I haven't tried any digital versions yet.
Didn't realize F4 had an ongoing. Sounds like fun Cage seems to be in a DGAF mode. Taking projects for fun and not to pay off his debts. Who did the art on that DD displate?
DD displate is the great Alex Maleev! Haha that’s funny I was thinking cage had slowed down a bit and seemed to be doing more what he wanted (like noir who he’s talked about loving deeply) Oh dude, one of the best ongoing out! Exceptional book
I had to look up Maleev because his name rang a bell. Cross it Power Rangers, because the last trade I read. Did a gorgeous cover for them and has done others
loving the love you’ve been giving saladin ahmed’s daredevil lately! as a diehard DD fan, i wish more people were reading and enjoying it cause im loving it!
great video man! will be tuning in weekly from now on! which Fantastic Four comics/storylines would you recommend for an absolute beginner to get ready for the film, and hopefully fall in love with the characters for the first time?
Absolutely this current run! Only 20 issues in! 2nd to that the Waid / Wieringo run 3rd - I’d say the run written by Hickman Or go classic and feel nostalgic for OG COMICS with Kirby and Lee
@@CoyJandreau thanks for the recs!! I think I’ll start with the current run and then check out some of the Stan and Kirby stuff; I’ve heard the Galactus Trilogy is good and I’d like to see where all of this actually started. thanks!
