I thought they did the smartest thing with this prequel that you dont usually see with others. A simple stoy with character depth and real emotion. Tension is still there, Aliens are still cool. Parts with a helicopter rattle your seat. But in the end it was the performances and Character development that sucks you in. Frodo kicks ass in this I might che k out a Marinette show now. Im not sure if there was anything I didnt like. Glad it didnt become another Independence Day or War of the Worlds movie.
Ep6 is my favorite of the season. But I don’t think anyone gives as much credit as they should to Hiro Murai for producing this and Atlanta. This series even still at s3 is fire!
I thought that was a Chicago Bears logo when I first saw it lol. I know the show is set in Chicago and they’ve done some cross promotion with the Bears, but still had to do a double take
Napkins was such a fantastic episode man. Right when it started with tina losing her job and applying to 100s of places i knew it was gonna end up at The Beef and we'd see mikey. Bernthal's character really just has this amazing presence throughout the show from all the connections all the other characters have because of him and how that affected everyone throughout the previous seasons. So when mikey shows up and we get that talk between him and tina i couldn't help but just constantly smile became this show really is just about a giant family and everyone in it is sooo important
I'll comment in every video that the Faks really took me out almost every time they showed up. In the words of Kristian Harloff, when they showed up it felt like a bit. The Josh Hartnet cameo didn't work for me only because the conversation didn't work for me. I don't know one future spouse that felt the need to ask the ex permission to marry their ex. So, I guess it wasn't really the cameo as much as the scenario. I don't think I've seen John Cena act before, but this isn't what makes me want to see more of him. The one Fak, I kinda wanted to see was francie because of the mystery history with Sugar. Other than those small qualms, I'm liking this quiet season that seems like the quiet before the storm. The episode with sugar and DD was the best... so much depth.
I guess it just showed that Josh Hartnett's character is the kind of person who thinks he should have gotten the ex-husband's permission, even if he didn't need it. It just showed what he was thinking and feeling.
@alexp601 yes, but very unnecessary and an unrealistic. A better scene for me would be him expressing that he understands the importance of Richie's presence in their lives and his desire to include him in the wedding as Tiff's ex husband and father of her child
"If it grows together, it goes together." It's one of the most important lines in all 3 seasons. It's a key line in the farmer's market episode, but I think it's the mission statement of the season. There are other episodes I'll lose my mind about. Napkins destroyed me. But looking at the season as a whole I really think that line is the summary thesis they are exploring anddddd....? Love it. This show is *special.* It's not running at everyone's speed, I know, but it's digging in and letting you breathe in these characters and... that's not an easy thing to achieve. From the actors, directors and writers. This is. Great. I dig it so much.
Season 3 is the prologue to Season 4. I love The Bear but this season seems like a lot of spinning their wheels. Granted, they’re gorgeous wheels with cool rims & what not but still…
I kind of get what you mean, that this season feels like it's spinning its wheels, like it doesn't want to move forward too much. But man, I'm loving those spinning wheels so far!
Yeah, that is the feeling I get for sure in this season. The Bear is a cut above the rest in how special it is. However, out of 3 seasons, this one is my least favorite.
I also joined this show in season 2 by word of mouth. I love how season 3 is kind of a previously on.... while adding to the story. Getting Tina's back story worked so well. Ayos directing was perfect. I'm so happy this show isn't going through the second/third curse. The acting, writing, directing is still on point and exciting. And while I love John Cena... why are we adding chaos into a already chaotic situation???
No wonder your review is so detailed and precise: you’re an industry kid. Hospitality folks either love or get triggered by this brilliant program. Oh, and belated congrats, Coy.
What would make it feel like a season 3 for you? I guess the first season was about tearing down the sandwich shop, and the second season was about building the new restaurant, and this one is the running of the restaurant, so they all go together as different seasons for me.
Off topic…rewatching X-men animated series clip and saw Ice-Man against X-Factor got me thinking if they could bring back Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends!!!
I love everything about this series. My favorite thing is that the dialogue doesn't feel like a script. It always feels like you're in the middle of real conversations. And can we just talk about the editing? It just makes every scene so interesting. Thanks for reviewing The Bear. I wish more RU-vidrs would react to it!
Hi Coy, so I wouldn’t consider myself a horror fan but I loved Part 1&2 so I thought to try this movie. If I’m honest I got so emotional all I’ll say is in the bar. I want to say your cinema is crazy! Your little walking from the screening to the exit is crazy! I love their designs. But yes throughout the whole movie I was like leave the cat be😂
I did a triple feature of bikeriders, this and kinds of kindness yesterday. Saw this in IMAX and man what an experience! I'm definitely gonna go watch this again soon. Didn't realize how captivated I'd get following these characters. And man I love the continued trend of the last shot of each of these films being a BANG
Chef of 8 years here and The Bear is the most accurate, honest, and entertaining show that dives into this crazy, chaotic industry that I love. I've experienced almost everything depicted on screen, especially the variety of people you meet and work with. As crazy as they are, they are your family. I absolutely adore this show and the way they comment on how important mental health is. Thank you Chef Coy for these reviews!
Hey man. It would be awesome to send in superchats with what people have been reading. I’ve been going back through dc as I’ve only just gotten into comics over the last few years. Just read the Jeph loeb supergirl run from 2005. Pretty great. Also loved her new 52 run but I hear many didn’t.
Didn’t realize that type SUPER chat was a different button! Just turned it on supers should be avail not for comments not just live streams. Love most of loebs stuff! And like the lions share of new 52 supergirls was hit or miss for me depending on arc! But overall think of that era fondly Glad you dig it!
@@CoyJandreau cheers coy. Thanks for your constant passion. You and James Gunn are two of the biggest influences for to go to back and get into it. I’m coming to comic con from Australia this year, hopefully I’ll make it in to hall H or catch one of your panels.
Least believable thing was the cat lol... he didn't make a sound or a hiss at ONE of those things?! But yeah loved the movie, and about 30 min in I realized why Harloff loved it so much... it's literally the story of someone trying to get some NYC pizza...
Wow man, really beautiful and heartwarming movie, not really the action packed blockbuster it’s advertised to be, but more about the human experience even during tragedy. Good performances by lupita and Quinn. A quiet place day one gets the Richy seal of approval 👍🏾
This might be my favourite episode as well, with all the fights being amazing. Of course I didn't care about all the jedi, and I knew since they saw a sith, they wouldn't survive, but I at least hoped the ones we know would. I was really shocked when Jackie and Yord died, and more emotional than even I thought I would be. The sith reveal didn't surprise me much, because I suspected it from the previous episodes, but I really liked his performance. Overall, I'm not super excited about the show, but I like it a lot and I hope they pay off the reveal of what really happened in the past
I loved this one. I may enjoy this one more than the second. Maybe the first. I don't know. I just saw it. Need to let it sink in and such. Point is, I enjoyed it alot.
