I'm about halfway through Frank Miller's omnibus, I pre-order Bendis/Maleev vol. 1 with a plan to read the Bendis and Brubaker runs together. I always like introductions in omnis. A little behind the scenes commentary goes a long way to make the price a little easier to justify.
I love the miller run but reading bendis and brubaker back to back made daredevil my all time favorite character immediately after finishing those runs for the first time. a distinction he stiill has
BRO, I could not AGREE with you more: When I say reading Bendis & Brubaker’s run back to back is an EXPERIENCE. Both writers are called to write grounded crime related stories and both writers showed their true strengths. Brubaker showed out immensely with the twists and turns. Woooo what a ride. Wonderful review bro.
Thanks so much man! What’s wild to me-even loving both writers-is how seamless they did the handoff from one run to another. The runs are still distinct and yet the voice of daredevil, the characters, and the world felt largely consistent run to run I felt which is just incredible to me. The Bendis run may be my favorite DD run but Bendis through Brubaker is my favorite era 👏📚
Of all the books you chose this. Hahaha. I just finished pt.1 omnibus and had this on a to buy next list as well. I actually got the Zadarsky omni part 1 instead, because of the alternate cover with Elecktra is just too incredible. Anyway yes the part 1 of this is soooo incredible. The writing is just fantastic, amazing story telling. Loved every inch of part one and so far was my favorite Daredevil I have read. After the show he has slowly become a favorite. But yeah opted for the other and you rub it in. Hahaha But you dropping he's your #1 character was HUGE, never heard that before. Also the split omnibus thing, I get it. It is more easily accessible to people split it. From a poor man a 60 tag vs 120 is a lot better. And without a doubt just from part 1 it stands even alone as an absolutely fantastic read. I love and understand both. But yes you got me it's definitely coming next.
Oh yeah Daredevil is my #1! What won me was Brian Michael Bendis’ run! If you’ve never read that run I highly recommend seeking it out if you’re a DD fan-it immediately proceeds the Brubaker run and the transition run to run is incredible. Zdarsky is also amazing, no bad options here 👏
@@TheComicBookReport I haven't yet. Because it was out of print last time I checked. But I know so many people said that is the best. I started with this last Zadarsky run, only second half but loved it. I will definitely get it when I can asap. But now I have to get this part 2 first. Hahaha. Bats is always my #1 but Moon Knight by Mckay has been number two. But Daredevil is so great I am open to him moving up. Loved pt.1 so much.
@@dannytorrence9424 so many of the modern DD runs are fantastic! Hope you have opportunity to read more. Favorite hero order changes here to there but I think I go: 1) Daredevil 2) Batman 3) Spider-Man 4) Wolverine 🤔🤔🤔
@@TheComicBookReport Definitely always changes but I will do same 1:Batman 2:Moon Knight ( Although he's currently dead.) 3: X-Men & Wolverine combo 4: Daredevil 5: Spider-Man ( Both Miles and Peter) I cheated because moon knight is dead and wolvie an X crew are same category to me. He's that #1 but I love them all.
