Yeah, "dizzy" in the literal, physical sense, I learned "schwindlig" - "Ich hab noch nie Zigarren geraucht, und das erste Mal ist es mir schwindlig geworden" But "dizzy" in the figurative sense overlaps with "stupid", "silly", "scatterbrained", and I think some of the other respondents are thinking of that sense.

We (in Mittelhessen) also say dormelich which I assume comes from hdt. taumelig (not researched, just my gut feeling)
