It would be very interesting to see a custom campaign that includes Battlefleet Gothic mixed with regular Warhammer 40k. Like maybe have a few battles in the campaign consist of battlefleet and a few in the table top game.

In the UK and Europe and Australia there is a decent fan community keeping Epic: Armageddon alive. Under normal circumstances the UK has a tournament a month with between 15-40 people turning up each time. In 2019 the first World Team Tournament was held with teams from England, Scotland, Poland, germany, Sweden, US and a mixed group of poeple from elsewhere, over 40 players. Then in France the singles team tournament was held with about 50 people. So...it's alive and played vigorously. Just need to see if there's any activity near you! Lots of 3rd party support as well for getting models if you're not up for scouring eBay for originals.

In the official section you can find the remastered rulebook. It has all rules from rulebook and armada and faq2010 in one masterful book. The fleet book is being made. XR is in the non-official section. BFG revised as well

When the Torture cruiser got in behind the crippled Murder on the planet it used the gravity well to turn and then made its normal turn _after._ You can't do that. The free turn is done after your move is completed. So you would have had to do your normal 90° turn first. At which point your free turn would have been near worthless, because it can't take you past the centreline of the planet.

Lol. Just remember: 1 fighter takes out a complete torpedo wave. 1 small wave from your infidel escort can take out one large Imperial wave.

Lol I had the White Dwarf with pop out Gothic fleet and played it all the time when I was I kid ....sadly after many moves ...it lost in the warp lol

You could have turned the escorts that went all ahead full on the 2nd round (the 2nd group) using the planet so they can eventually come around.

@@mjorr3081 My mates in the northern suburbs have a discord channel and garage gaming club, never played battlefleet, but I did back in the day. Still have a few ships, probably need to proxy some for a proper game. I have mentioned previously to the crew that we should do some thematic bfg/40k missions, would be amazing to combine the two.

Dark Eldar have no use for Burn Retros at all. They have no minimum movement. When using CTNH they can take 2 turns immediately if they want, allowing a ship with a 90° turn rate to do a 180° turn on the spot. Or they could take two 90° turns as normal. They auto-pass CTNH too.

Man can see almost no detail on those Drukhari ships, so it isn't great. The bat-rep is super fun though.

Pretty sure you rolled one too many lance shots at the healthy Murder from your smaller frigate squadron. You rolled 3 dice but only had 2 escorts left.

In essence there isn't that much difference. I think in the core rules Ordnance sees the biggest change. The ships in some cases have different statistics (like the chaos despoiler). And XR added a lot of ships. With which I personally am less happy as gap filling in fleets takes away fun (imo that is).

Can I donate BFG goodies to MWG? I have rules and models and copies of BFG magazine, and a Ramillies Class Starfort I'm sure Chris could enjoy.. I can think of no better place than MWG for these ancient relics of the Omnisiah to find permanent safe harbour...

All my custom terrain flats were painted with an obvious "toward the sun" side. Royal pain painting each little asteroid on the field templates with suitable shadows, but totally worth it for the aesthetics.
