I love the dead daemon on the base with its own sword shoved down its throat and the pose with the sword and shield looks so badass on a hive tyrant I might need to try this.
Do you should totally do more kitbashing tutorials, but only on things that you are actually working on since you do other stuff on your channel as well
The tail is part of the 3D print, which is sculpted by Butov, you can find his .stl for this model on 3Dcults. The base of the arms are also from the same kit, though I did some Greentuff/kitbash work.
Loved the build and am definitely gonna try something similar for my own tyranid army with the hive fleet behemoth scheme. Do you have any recommendations where to get the mawloc head plate bit whether it be a 3d print or just buying the bit besides the kit as I’m not to keen on buying the entire model kit just for the head plate lol. Also for the arms, what stl kit butov kit did you get them from.
Awesome! I am certain there are mawloc style .stls out there, but I unfortunately haven't sourced any myself. If you know anyone with a mawloc they will likely have the other head options since the kit only uses 1/3 IIRC.
Killing it, the veins on the bonesword are absolutely *chef kiss*. Not too familiar with the Tyranid kits, is the shield a kit bashed warrior headcrest?
@@WhatThe40k such a cool idea. I have some thrope kits, but no trygon. I'd like to try and build something similar though. just starting a nid army this week.
As a critic of 40k, if 40k is going to 'fall hard' it will likely happen as a result of how it is managed by GW. I doubt it would be because of individuals being inspired by other IPs to create color schemes. 😂
@@TechWizard28 I agree with the sentiment, but I believe that outcome hinges on if GW caves to 'woke ideology', not the desire itself being present. If such a desire is made vocal but GW doesn't bend the knee, those people will move along realizing 40k is not and not willing to become what they want. That said, I don't know what that has to do with my choosing of a colour scheme inspired by a different IP, being the impetus for 40k's fall as you described.
@@WhatThe40k you're attracting the problem by calling it "gengar" or even entertaining the thought of Pokémon themed paint schemes. It opens the door for future problems. Nip it in the bud and keep fandoms separated. I like the grim-dark gritty down to earth emo sad whatever you want to call it, that's 40k. Not sunshine, rainbows, and pokemon. Death blood gore and war
Constantly impressed by Hive Fleet Gengar, both the color combination and the work to customize this. Did you ever try painting the vents as a different color to make them stand out a bit more or did it look weird?
Thanks! Not exactly sure what you mean. Tyranid components are hard to parse out 😅By vents are you referring to the stacks in the backs of larger creatures? If so no, I've only ever painted them like the carapace.
@@WhatThe40k Well, that, but I meant the...hmm..not sure how to describe them. The openings in the limbs where you can see 'muscle lines', the joints, and such.
@@Andersonzabuza Oh I gotcha. So that's a no, I haven't altered the colors the areas I refer to as muscle strips 😅. I think I mention the color theory behind Gengars design in a different video, but the jist was to make the muscle strips stand out from the skin, but not compete with the overall scheme - leaving that solely for the weapon symbiotes and teeth.
Ohhh. Its for the black skin, there is a slight bit of blending between colors and also a custom wash. I have a video on my channel detailing the painting process for the hive fleet gengar scheme.
There isn't much of a tutorial for how to build this guy as it's mostly a 3d print, minus the sword, which has some greenstuff to it. However I am working on a hobby vlog breakdown for the conversions that are part of this army project.
