This is a balance pvp patch called balanced battle network, I made a mistake not using a hotfix save though so the chaos unison here is not the usual and I miss out on some new chips as well
they were thinking that in order to fit in all those battle sprites it was much easier to create separate hand attachments that could be layered over any form of MegaMan, and forgot to create/decided against creating a Dark MegaBuster you gotta do what you gotta do when you're cramming this amount of data onto a GBA cartridge
@@matthewbertrand4139 what's funny is the anime did the same thing for Dark Rockman's buster, where it retains the normal blue. Guess they just wanted to keep it consistent?

@@namename2040 I mean aside from BN4 all of BN games are worth playing not to mention they include both version of BN3-6 they even restored and localized the cut content in BN6 including Boktai collab not to mention they include online battle and trade chips so it's not overpriced imo
So glad to see much love for the BN series. As a kid i always loved the whole Dark MegaMan thing. Don't know why. Always chose dark chips in every game that had it just to see that evil ass confident smirk that blends in perfectly with the purple background. As another comment said, i do agree with that person as to why the mega buster isn't dark or purple lol
I was surprised to see the Zero Virus art from Network transmission since I'm so accustomed to the shadowed reploid one. Is this a legacy collection change or was it always like that for BN4 and 5?
@@aghadlarhen9397 I don't think it is either, I was wondering if it was a custom art patched in but I haven't started 5 on the Legacy Collection yet myself so I can't say for sure. I'm guessing from the lack of borders and a timer for the custom screen that this is on an emulator. It definitely wasn't like that in the GBA or DS releases in the US though
Dark Chips were always cool. The hp loss though is what makes it pretty much bad to use. I would have made it so the hp loss was only temporary like how you can purify yourself. I mean really why make em have cool effects and PUNISH for using em. I mean sure you can use Chaos Unison in BN5 but you can't do that in 4.
I love the permanent hp loss. The player has to fully commit, throw caution to the wind and say screw it in order to get to play around with them. It's a huge part of what sells it thematically. They are supposed to be dangerous, addictive and soul corrupting. That's the entire point. Dark chips are not to be trifled with either from a gameplay stand point or story standpoint and I think they captured that brilliantly. The best part of using them was seeing your friends reactions when you show up with a fully corrupted glitchy mega man and their immediate reaction is to question your sanity. That reaction alone of 'what did you do to your mega man are you crazy!?' That made it all worth it. You just wouldn't get that reaction if it was something you could just casually dabble in whenever you felt like. I love the way they designed them.
I definitely want to actually mess with the dark chips in 4 and 5 this time around. I was always pretty scared to use them as a kids and didn’t want to permanently lose hp.
@LittleMissEevee not bad really I'm more of a casual player myself but ham it on the chip folder as I like using chips I like instead of competitive builds
Speaking of the megaman collection whenever they decide to do megaman starforce do you think they'll finally make starforce 4 and for those who don't know they're supposed to make a 4 but it was canceled for some reason.
Would it be possible for you to link the patch in the description? Trying to search it up just brings back results for the legacy collections mod cards.

went berserk mode, when dark mega hits 1 hp he basically is using dark invis, due to my save file though it has the normal dark ai rather than the updated ai, I didnt know about the hotfix
Wish they would have fixed his stupid buster color palette and matched it with BN4 his buster has always looked like shit in 5 when you start gaining or losing karma that discoloration bothers tf out of me, regardless I love BN5 and it's my favorite that's the only small detail I gotta nit pick about BN5 besides the stupid ship code
i really wish they would make like a new attachment for the switch and make the chip gate a thing again and make BCC a DLC. they would have full access to my wallet.
Dark MegaMan in BN4 is crazy good has a cooler color palette as well when you get hit beyond 1 HP also the buster pallet isn't messed up, but the biggest thing is in BN4 specifically Red Sun there's more you can do as dark MegaMan theres more chips to use in terms of the random dark chips you get but also your standards and megas and there's like 2 Gigas that can only be used by dark MegaMan and a whole program advance that can only be used by dark MegaMan so it's kinda the best of both worlds if you wanna do dark MegaMan runs but albeit I'd still stick with BN5 either way bc it's my favorite xD

@@littlemisseevee2309 Since when was he broken in BN5? He got hit with heavy nerfs such as less Evil Chip selections, huge Dark Chip nerfs and massive DS Navi Chip nerfs. Only notable thing I heard was the Dark AI but that one absolutely requires you to play in a specific way.
@@lafbkhope5391 dark recover, dark invis being a second berserk, evil chips are still busted as are dark chips. Dark mega ds navis are also broken too, which is why they got hella nerfed in this patch, hell django ds was way better than sp on damage. dark mega in 4 and 5 was centralizing, to the point of forcing anti recover
Thou must purify thy dark soul, select chips won’t taint the soul’s arsenal. I’m testing how this ai is different from gba version still. They definitely patched it somehow
@@alicevioleta3184 yeah, it can even use your pa’s, the reworked ai is supposed to only use buster and weak chips, I’d prefer if it got reworked like beast over or something
