My beloved swedish folks are alive! It's so nice to hear that even with many major changes in the band's line-up, Dark Tranquillity is still Dark Tranquillity!
What I love about this band, is that even after years of content, they still make me think about life in different angles with their sound and lyrics. I love it.
I personally think DT are ever changing, and therein lies the beauty :D But yea, they're one of the very few bands that get better with time. I like the old albums, but listen more to everything after character bc I don't really like the old old sound. Moment for example, was the greatest album I've ever heard,no matter band or genre. If you'd ask me about the perfect album,it'll be Moment. Im just so fascinated with DT bc no one manages making music like they do. It's just unique in every way,and so far I found nothing that's remotely similar to DT,starting from the vocals bc no one is as good as Mikael 😂
Always loving that monstrousous black metal type of voice from DT..happy to see them still out there making music...since 1997!!! Am still hearing them! Cheers boys
24 years, man how time flies. DT is still as great as ever, a cornerstone of Swedish metal. God bless you all, we're not nothing, we're just passing by, under His mercies to life eternal.
True! Imo they are the best mdm band Sweden has(maybe share first spot with a few others), and that says a lot since Sweden has so many amazing mdm and overall metal bands. They deserve even more recognition tbh.
Одна из моих любимых групп! ❤ Композиция великолепная. Вокал, как всегда безупречен, ритм-секция превосходная, и конечно отличный лидер-гитарист. Все замечательно!!!
Mikael's cleans always make me shiver and makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand!! This is gonna be a killer album, much love from Egypt ❤️❤️❤️🤘🏻🤘🏻
Mika's clean vocals are exactly how I imagine God's voice through the clouds speaking to us and his dirty vocals, how I imagine devil's voice through a volcano speaking to us.
With all the frequent lineup changes, I've always been amazed at how quickly musicians in the Swedish scene can learn each other's parts. That said, since many of them are friends the answer is probably not more than a text away. Mr. Brandstrom and Mr. Reinholdz especially are gifted musicians. I'm sure it's just a matter of going back and listening to the old stuff. "We tend to do this here and that there." That said, not to take away from Mr. Strandberg-Nilsson, but I do miss Mr. Jivarp on the drums. As one of the founding members and key songwriters, you could always tell Jivarp's little flourishes on the splash cymbals, tasteful fills, and contributions to the songs. He neither overplayed nor underplayed and did whatever was best for the tune. I wish him well in his future projects.
Increíble, una banda que a pesar de los años sigue sacando material de mucha calidad, ajustando su música a las tendencias, pero siempre conservando su esencia.
Very well made song. In fact this is one of the best song of Dark Tranquility. Michael Stanne sang like a beast. Other band members were also fanjtastic. They should be proud of making this magnificient song.
Listening DT since Skydancer and i just cant remember how many gigs i have seen since starting listening them. Dt is for me " the original" Göteborg sound, alongside In Flames. Still, Dt has its totally original sound, and M Stanne is for me 1 most significant singer of melodeath genre.
Man, this is awesome. It takes me back to my youth; real "Projector" vibes in here, mixed with a modern, sort of "djent" sound. I might be the exception, holding "Projector" in such high esteem from all of Dark Tranquillity's massive catalogue from decades of prolific production of music, but I really do find that album to be exceptional. I certainly prefer it to In Flames' more rock influenced work after "Clayman" and even to the now lauded but certainly a harsh departure from Soilwork's previous thrash roots with the Devin Townsend produced "Natural Born Chaos." That being said, I generally prefer the more extreme Swedish death metal and the old-school Gothenburg sound. Hypocrisy and Amott era Carcass introduced me to the scene, followed by early In Flames, Dark Tranquility, At the Gates and Soilwork. Personal favorites from the Swedish scene are some of the most extreme bands; Anata and Spawn of Possession, and yet, "Projector" still holds a special place in my heart. I even remember people yelling "You ruined Soilwork!" at Devin Townsend when he was touring in Strapping just after they reformed after their brief hiatus in the early 2000's, touring with Napalm Death, Nile and The Berzerker if I recall correctly... And while I wasn't a fan of Soilwork's music after Natural Born Chaos until the return of Peter Witchers about a decade later, I certainly loved that album... But not as much as "Projector." It always seemed weird to me that Dark Tranquillity went the more heavy route while In Flames and Soilwork incorporated more mellow rock into their music in the early 2000's. I always thought Stanne was the best clean vocalist out of all of them.
