@@lionrock3 if you are expecting them to sound like they used to in the 90s and early 2000s you will obviously be disappointed. Their prime is behind them but they're still a solid band in the melodeath scene.
fascinating how they changed half of their band and STILL sound like the good, old, recognizable DT. they cannot create a bad song, this is magnificent, can't wait for whole album.
@@Seni0r_Lobo yeah, and occasionally Niklas wrote a few songs, lyrics, music everything by him and honestly those were the most haunting and biggest punching songs. For example Inside the Particle Storm and Iridium. I was really sad to know he left, because it means that side of DT might be lost forever. But who knows, we'll see this new album :)
@@h1n1worm well, that was just one side of DT. There are still tons of songs written by the other members and as said before me, Mikael, Anders and Martin (Brändström) are all just as much the heart of DT as Niklas and Martin (Henriksson) were :) so I am not worried that this album is going to be surely awesome
I love how the 2 guitarists in this song, each of whom can shred up a storm, chose not to use their superpowers, to stick stylistically and technically to Dark Tranquillity's typical melancholic themes. Great song!
Indeed, as much as i love Johan's and Chris's playing in their previous bands, this restrained yet very DT-ish approach to melodies and solos works great in this song.
Glad you enjoyed it, My favorite band, I have everything they ever released & nothing dissapoints, check out some other albums - Gallery - Projector - Charachter - any DT album tbh. Enjoy 😀
@@taomahNEGEV If you don't like don't listen. One artist has right to evolve on his way. Although someone will not like it. I personally like they opted for a melancholy and slow emotions.
@imuglierthanyou Maybe it's just my nostalgia kicking in, as Whoracle and Jester race were both on a burnt CD my cousin made me well over 10 years ago when I was first getting into the melo-death from Europe... but I still think those two albums are both extremely well made. That being said, Dark Tranquility's Fiction was my first time actually buying an album, so this band still holds a special place in my heart.
@imuglierthanyou I feel like one of the few that loves their discography up through Clayman, for different reasons. I was just getting into playing guitar when Clayman came out, and that intro to Swim made me want to pick up my guitar every day.
This is getting me through the monotony of 2020. I adore this band so much. No matter what im going through theres a song that helps. Dark Tranquility saves me yet again
"Haven + Damage Done + Character + Fiction + Construct + Atoma = Moment" are mixed together brilliantly. In conclusion, we've got our new masterpiece once again to spend our time further on listening.
20 years ago I discovered a great band called Dark Tranquillity. That's half a life ago. This song is another culmination point, another validation of talent. And hear how Stanne delivers some of his best vocal work here!
After I listened to this song, I thought Christopher Amott and Johan Reinholdz have brought Dark Tranquillity to a new level. I'm a big fan of Arch Enemy (especially Johan Liiva era), so I'm glad to listen to Christopher's guitar in Dark Tranquillity, which is my favorite band too. Looking forward to their new album!
Sundin is a great guitarist, I am very sorry that he is gone, but I am happy that he continues to take care of the visual part. I am also a fan of Arch Enemy, even if I preferred the era of Angela, I know Chris well, he has a glorious past and he does not have to prove anything more but I am sure that his contribution will give further class to Dark Tranquility and you can already feel it. . I heard a few notes from the new album and a new masterpiece is already on the way! Their music and lyrics convey feelings that their name describes very well. I've been a fan since '92, they have never let me down and continue to be one of the best top bands on the world stage!
Goosebumps!!! What a genuine, ephemeral, dark, lyrical and beautiful song!!! DT is the only band which inherits the tradition of pure ‘90s melodic death metal!
I woke up and was getting prepared to start exercise. When Spotify suggested this song to me at the new releases section, I knew it was going to be the best workout I had for months.

I was gonna see Insomnium, OG, STS, and Wolfheart live all within the span of two months before the virus. As much as I love MPE, Be'lakor, and DT I still gotta say fuck 2020
@@T.bROwn_77 : I had bought tickets three days before Insomnium was scheduled to play in Santa Ana and because of Corona they cancelled. This year has been the worst year I've ever lived and I was homeless during the great Recession.
Thank you Dark Tranquility......what a breath of fresh fckn air it is to listen to metal that is not whiney-djenty-emocorey-breakdowney-with white boys trying to rap......a call back to their roots, and an invitation to all those legendary bands that have "modernized" themselves, to go back to writing metal.....
The last time I heard DT was roughly 20 years ago. This showed up in my feed and I thought: "why not?". And this was worth it, truly beyond what I expected. Great and inspiring now as it was for my teenage ears back then. Kick ass :D
If you really haven’t listened to them in 20 years then you need to do yourself a favour and go through their catalogue since then. Especially, Damage Done, Character and Fiction but they’re all good in their own way
... this is seriously one of my favorite DT songs ever. Intro riff rules, chorus riff is insane, vocals are so passionate and intense, dual solos are beautiful. What a fucking song.
I was just literally week ago thinking that its been quite a while when Atoma album came out. Year 2020 has been so kind for metal music. So welcome newborn of DT.
Rest of the album hasn't been listened yet but its obvious we hope every song that in this album is gonna be so awesome. Especially "Empires Lost to Time".
Love it. Simply as that. Finally a good thing in 2020. DT was the first band that made me fall in love with metal... That piano intro on Freecard still gives me chills....
Ahh yes Dark Tranquility just in time for these cold Canadian winters. Perfect 👌. Now just need some new Be'lakor and Insomnium and I will be a very melancholy boy.
This song makes me feel the depth and wonder that were found on the songs on, "Exposures In Retrospect and Denial." "it might be lost and gone to memory belong.... it doesnt make it any less real.."
So, music wise the last 12 month have not been bad at all....Insomniums Heart like a grave and now this...basically the best two songs I have heard in the metal genre so far. Please keep doing what you do !!!
Horror and Halloween 101 on that same vein, Finntroll is releasing their 7th album next week 🤗... Just kidding, but I'm excited as hell for that one too... It's been too long
Thank you DT! This sounds like classic Tranquillity, but still retaining the moodier "Moment"s of the last few albums Dark. The new guitarists only add to the greatness that is you! Can't wait for the new album! Everyone share this with friends and on social media!
Dark Tranquility continue to fly the flag high for melodic death metal. Failstate is the best song on the album for me, although the whole album is excellent.
I just don't know how these guys do it. Song after song...album after album. The epic quality they bring each time has reached legendary status at this point. HURRY UP NOVEMBER 20TH!!!!!!!!!!!!! \m/
I found DT in -93 Skydancer album, but when The Gallery -95 was released, i was totally sold. Since then i cant remember how many times i saw 'em live. I have bought every single album since then. Every album has its own recognizable moments ( reflects of time) but still every one of them stands srongly on their own feets. This band alongside IF are pure excamples of swedish melodic deathmetal masterpieces. Just pure art.
