I was bored to tears with that book and its sequel. Nothing happens. And the main character constantly simping for his favorite poet was annoying. Granted it's been 20 years since I've read it but I doubt I would enjoy it any better now. Instead I recommend The Damned trilogy by Alan Dean Foster. Takes your normal tropes about humans being the weakest or, at best, even with other races in the galaxy and has humans instead be monsters of warfare. At the cost of every other race seeing us as uncivilized barbarians barely tolerated because we are fighting their enemy. My favorite are the League of Peoples books by James Alan Gardner. His work is often overlooked and it's sad. Check out the summary for the first book Expendable and see if it catches your interest. Those books aren't so much about action but exploration and mystery. The basic premise is that with the help of some aliens humanity can cross the stars. However travel is limited to sentients only, that is non-murderers; if you've killed someone or intend to and attempt to leave your planet's atmosphere you drop dead and there's nothing you can do about it. Throughout the books we interact with more, interesting super races, and lesser ones too. I know of no other books like it, the only thing that comes close is Q and his interactions in Star Trek.

@@omnimoeish carriers are so easy to counter for Zerg. Zerg has all the counters for everything. The only way to beat them is limit their expansions and hurting their economy and hope they run out of money

Once lurkers reach a critical mass, it beats all Protoss ground armies. Protoss has to tech to carriers. When lurkers first hit the field before Vipers, Protoss can trade pretty effectively with disruptors. However, if the Zerg accumulates too much gas value, they'll have too many lurkers and vipers. That's when Protoss has to tech to carriers.

He himself says that he got a terrible late game, that he tries to compensate with early game units + multi tasking... The down said (as youve seen one game before...) is that he is just gambling on his opponent not being prepared for a nydus drop. If the opponent successfully defends it, he rather GG than transition to a late game composition that he hates to learn or use, so he just go next game... i dont see any contradiction

@@PiGCasts Ah I think i know why. I took two years of ANCIENT greek in university. The last letter - Eta - is pronounced differently in ancient greek. In modern greek, they say "Eh-Ka-Tee" (you technically don't pronounce the H completely, it's mostly silent). My pronunciation "Heh-Ka-Tay" or "Heh-ka-Teh" is the ancient greek pronunciation that i was taught. Modern Greek apparently is closer to Heh-Ka-Tee or Eh-Ka-Tee. Hekate is an ancient Greek goddess, but the name is still used in Greece, so technically we're both kinda right. But the modern pronunciation is Eh-Ka-Tee or Heh-Ka-Tee. As a caster with potential Greek Speakers in the audience, i would probably go with the modern pronunciation. Eh Ka Tee.
