Matthew Baumann what are the weaknesses of the death ball? 1) mobility. Fight wherever they are not, expand everywhere to mitigate the base trade scenario of severity of attrition. 2) slow to remake. Viper abducts do work. Also just taking inefficent trades and remaxing faster than protoss is legitimate. 3) clumping. AOE spells get massive leverage. There is more but my original comment wasnt purely facetious, if the protoss has a deathball unstoppable army at max supply and you have no counterattack recourse due to overwhelming static d or something, YOU ALREADY GOT OUTPLAYED 10 MINUTES AGO. Its not so much a question of beating them before they get the deathball, its about not losing before they have it...

i agree. maybe going after this army might not be the best way to win a match this crucial. hurting the opponent's economy goes a long way in actually helping to destabilize this army. as for army composition i've attempted to actually use viper and hydra one time and it did fairly well.

I think dark would have won game one if he had remaxed on mutas instead of corruptors.

Fat Basterd balance is not equal representation in the yearly final, it's the ability for any player with appropriate skill and effort to reach the yearly final with any of the races. The fact that there are only two Terran players makes it easy to scream imbalance, but for the balance to be truly an issue, you would have to assume equal skill levels, which I just do not feel is a comment that can be reasonably made of this field. Byun and TY earned their places here, just like the rest of the field, which is something that the rest of the pro Terran players just couldn't do this year.
