Ogryns are very very tough bullets and Las gun fire bounce of their skin. There was an Ogryn named Nork Ded Og he was fighting a battle against the Nids when suddenly a Mawloc attacked his squad (Mawloc it's nid that burrow and attack from underground and it's 3 storey building size) it swallowed Nork's commander he rushed to his aid saying "don't worry boss" then he head-butted the Mawloc so hard he broke one of it's mandibles then pulled the half digested body of the commander saying " I got ya boss "

Since that video, the different classes ingame got a big overhaul with new abilities, and voice acting for all of them. The veteran in particular got new voiceline for their "shout" ability which is a large team-wide buff that provide overshield, and holy moly they went ham on the voice acting for them. The Loose Cannon has one going "NO DYIN' TIL IS SAY SO", and the Cutthroat got a bone chilling roar "THERE IS ONLY WAAARRRR" that is just... perfect. Cutthroat went up two tier of awesome with their line.

@@TheLegitWeebs yep, which is why both on models from the tabletop and games such things might be referenced but never truly implemented, if you try to do such transformation with for example a whole group of Blue Horrors (lesser daemons of tzeentch) in a game the amount of animations and more would propably melt your pc (as tzeentch intended)

The music hits hard during combat as it flows well with the current intensity of the fight and plays well with the sounds of gun and laser fire and the cut and thust of melee. Disposal Unit is my favorite and it is used for the boss fights against Tratior Guard Captains. As for bosses,the Karnac twins are the current hardest bosses. And they are just expressly skilled and well equipped chaos aligned mortals. And they are built up as the big threat just below Wolfer himself, the highest ranked enemy commander we know of.

That's the thing with game OSTs sometimes. For some games, you don't really get a good sense of it until you hear it in-game combined with all the other elements. Now that you mentioned this though I can already somewhat imagine how satisfying this would be in combat.

Nurgle in Fantasy isn't slow and I stand by that, on the tabletop his slowest units were as quick as Saurus and it was very easy to create a Nurgle army whose lowest infantry movement speed was 6" (for comparison, 4" is average, while Dwarfs are 3"). You did need to limit yourself to do that (your Infantry would be Forsaken), but it was certainly possible. Nurgle didn't get showcased too much in stories, but in major ones like Tamurkhan's story, speed was one of the characteristics of his army, and when he breached into the Empire he would travel quicker than the Empire anticipated for a Chaos host. In that story Nurgle was characterised as being a plague wind blowing across the land, and this is true to the tabletop as your Nurgle army can leap across the table by moving 12" in one turn (the table is only 24" wide). Yes there are faster armies, but the point I'm making is that Nurgle isn't slow. Don't get me wrong though, in 40k Nurgle is slow, and people sometimes think the two are the same. About the blood and skulls comment, there are a surprising number of people in the Imperium who worship the Emperor like that, they're called death cultists. The Avatar of Khaine is in a sad state. It's an extradimensional golem made of lava and the final weapon of the Eldar, yet it's almost never treated like that in the story. On the tabletop it'll usually melt whatever it comes in contact with if they're weaker than a demi-god. Fun fact, in Rogue Trader one of the Perils results is you spawn a Bloodletter, and if this happens too early in the story, then that's it, he's going to wipe your party, so don't Perils. The chance of an Ogryn taking on and beating a Space Marine in a 1v1 with no weapons and no armour is extremely low. The reason why is because Space Marines are still far better trained, even if the Ogryn is technically stronger (one of them named Nork, who is 40k's version of Forest Gump, dragged a broken wreckage of a troop carrier) the Space Marine will likely still beat him because training constantly and learning hand to hand combat is likely to beat a guy who cannot remember how to throw a grenade right. I wrote a long rant in the Shogun 2 video that so many Darktide's fanbase is crazy, and I stand by that. Many reviews are great to laugh at because these people imagine the devs said things they never did, most notably they accuse the devs of saying they'd make a live service game (they never did), and that the game is built to get you to keep playing it, unlike every other game apparently. I've never seen another fanbase that has so many people with 400+ hours rating the game "not recommended" because they ran out of stuff to do.

40k Nurgle is a cancer, fantasy Nurgle is a virus.
@consolescrub4031
@consolescrub4031 4 месяца назад
Don't forget that it is also a classic strategy for chaos across 40k and Fantasy to try twist worshippers by appealing to the strength of their faith (why yes, this person you are worshipping is certainly the Emperor in one of his many forms. He looks like a large bird because he has reached that level of ascendancy. Could anyone who isn't Him perform such feats of psychic might?). It can be a slippery slope where devotion to your deity turns into worship to someone else due to some crafty encouraging of aspects of your worship. It's interesting seeing how the forces of Nurgle are portrayed in their own lore such as the Lords of Silence (great book). There are plenty of the traditional slow methodical guys who just go through everything at a plod without caring, there's those who are partway towards embracing the gift who can sprint when they want to and there are those who resist the gift and are faster than marines from other factions. Part of the domain of Nurgle is complacency and an unwillingness to change so the numbers of the former group are much larger than the latter but it would be entirely lore accurate to have small groups of regular marines moving at speed to accomplish objectives if that's how people wished to play them. Worst case scenario they can always teleport in some terminators. I do concur with everything else for the most part. Mechanically the Avatar is incredibly strong but it's one of those things which is always destined to lose in lore because it's a powerful thing which exist in an effectively infinite number for the purpose of story telling so there are no long term consequences to it losing in order to make a named character look cooler (in theory. In practice, this has cheapened it's value and by extension anyone associated with it). Same deal with the Swarmlord although I'm grateful they haven't really done that with my beloved C'tan. Daftest moment for it has to be when the Primarch Fulgrim somehow strangled the statue made of magma but I did appreciate the fight with the Swarmlord on Craftworld Lyanden where it attempted to challenge the Swarmlord to a duel only for the Swarmlord to send a bunch of Carnifex to kill it instead. It's just a nice change of pace from the usual duels between champions in the setting with the one faction such taunts are least likely to work on. I agree that unnamed Space Marines would be favoured in a fight with an Ogryn even without their wargear (with it, it's a stomp) but, with the exclusion of psykers which can vary hugely, that is probably the 1v1 matchup which the Imperial guard would be most likely to win vs Marines (unless you count 1 marine vs 1 Baneblade which I don't). If this happened in a story it would also hugely depend on who is writing the story as CSM have been written incredibly inconsistently in the past from ruthless professionals using cover and breaching tactics to shouting "give me your best shot" to the officer holding a volkite gun in close range (he survived but it certainly ruined his day along with one of his hearts). They're the CSM punching bags of lore but I would probably believe it if you told me an Ogryn had killed a Khornate Berserker or a Plague Marine in melee combat as those are the marines which typically possess a glaring weakness (Berserkers are generally depicted as single-minded while Plague Marines rely on the incredible endurance) and Ogryns are, after all, really strong. That's the whole reason the Imperium goes out of their way to field them and to incorporate them into their force rather than just another 10 regular guardsmen. Nork has canonically dragged a troop transport, killed a Tyrannid Mawloc (think baby Thresher Worm from Mass Effect for anyone unfamiliar) and defeated an Ork Warboss with a single headbutt so if an Ogryn manages to land a good hit on a CSM they're going to feel it. I do think they would struggle to do that given fighting is after all the science of hitting people without getting hit yourself and your average veteran of the Long War knows how to not die in a fight.

Darktide had a precarious launch and I could go into detail on everything they had to fix but last year there was the skill tree update (with that I reached 100+ hours and before that I had 15ish) and the game is now in a great place it is confusing in places for new players (weapons and skills / crafting) and I haven't played the last update from 2 week ago(?) which is what I understand is the start of another series of updates during the year. Lastly I think Bricky made another video on Darktide about this update I mentioned about the skill trees.

The gameplay is a lot better than it was (but still in my opinion far, far inferior to Vermintide 2 and I could talk for hours about why) but the progression and everything outside of the missions themselves is one of the most soul-crushing experiences I've ever had in a game. It is no word of exaggeration that Darktide has the worst progression I have ever seen in a video game. I still could not recommend it to anyone for that reason alone.

There was a short period where Nurgle was seemingly everyones favourite god to make an enemy in 40k games between darktide and chaos gate. You are right. Warhammer factions can be misinterpreted give who you are. Even me, when I read about a plague marine, I think slow tanky guy that just shrugs off fire but can't really run faster than a slow jog. But in reality, their sluggishness is a choice not a disability. One guy even played into that when he was fighting a space wolf. He let the wolf cut him multiple times, always responding with a gentle mocking of, "good, good, very fast." Until he decided to stop playing around and show he could move just as fast himself. With the cults though, mutations are kind of minor. Like Tzeench might have a guy with an odd eye on his cheek or a tentacle arm. Khorne, you want to get extreme; one cult flayed the flesh from their faces but they tend to be scared muscle ppl. Nurgle it's all about sickness stuff. boils, cysts, sores ect. which is what they did. It does have that problem of at a distance it's just dude with gun but up close you can see how messed up all these guys are. But the game is so fast you can't really take it in outside the training area. It's more of an issue of silhouette design which is what you see at range and 40k has that problem of just putting a skull on a spike is something both the Imperium and Chaos does so how do you sell that? Honestly with scaling it gets wonky. Like 1 book a space marine would trade out to normal gaurdsmen 10-1 in others it's more 200/500-1. This is more inconsistence on GWs part. But upgrading a guardsmen to be better, you can give them bionics, better armor, and better weapons. That's what stormtroopers have. Carapace instead of flak, hot shot las guns and better training. That said, it's still not in the range where space marines should lose in a straight up fight. I think it's better to outthink the enemy but you don't get the power fantasy doing that. But that's more a personal thing. I like them being more overpowered than underpowered. There are a few books where they are laughable. Like 1 a plauge marine died to a knife in the neck. One had his hands burned off and that killed him somehow. But on the other side, one got shot in half and he just said, "give me the heavy bolter, I'll cover you." Which is what is more my speed. The ogryn though, he's right. One ripping a space marine in power armor in half is totally possible. But yeah space marine is still faster and better trained so you know. But as a game. I love it but it wasn't complete at launch. It's much better now but if you're in for a forever game, that's not it. Plus, Fat Shark is supposedly known for this. Heard Vermintide wasn't great on launch either.
