I have potentially the rarest copy of Darkwing Duck in existence. Few years back, Jim Cummings was at a convention, and I asked him if he could sign it. He said it was the first time he's ever signed the game, and given it was 30 years old at that time, I'm pretty sure I own the ONLY signed copy by Jim Cummings
Drake Mallard and The Tick are the top tier of heros in the "making a grand entrance" category. You could exchange their pre-battle introduction lines and they'd be tonally indistinguishable
Dang, I loved this game!! Also, 10 on a Saturday? It’s like the old days of how I’d start off my weekend on the right foot! Even thinking about that as I was rewatching Actraiser again last night for the umpteenth time.
All Capcom games based on Disney IPs were absolute gold. I have such fond memories of sitting in front of the TV and playing Chip 'n Dale (1&2), Duck Tales (1&2) and Darkwing Duck ❤
I loved playing this game as a kid since I was a huge fan of the show. However, I still think it's a shame that they didn't have one more level where Negaduck was the actual final boss. EDIT: After finishing the vid, I see now that UCBVG agrees with me. Also, I admit that I never knew this game had bonus levels, so a big 'thank you' for introducing those to me! Finally, I can appreciate the Alex Mack reference with regard to the Liquidator.
Thank you for the video. This game was my childhood favorite. My godmother got me an NES back in the late 80’s. I was a kid back then. I can’t recall the exact year but it was around that time, for Xmas I had asked for this game. We were in Mexico at grandmas for the holidays. I remember going to sleep and waking up the next day with the game wrapped and placed just over my head. I was happy to have gotten it. It was not until years later however, that my parents through their sacrifice were the ones that got me that game-making it that much special. Last year, for Xmas, I asked for one of those mini consoles that have over a thousand games on it and it has this game. I tried to play it and I can’t believe just how much I suck at it now 😂
Alright, it's time to get dangerous with a good classic game Darkwing Duck I remember this one from my past and I enjoy it. Cheers for showing everyone to beat it.
"Let's get dangerous!" This was one game that I loved playing as a kid. For some reason I did not like the cartoon it's based on, but the game I enjoyed. 😎
I used to say "LET'S GET DANGEROUS" when I was 10-14 yrs old, and about to launch my bike off a ramp, jump off the high dive at the pool, or try anything that required a confidence boost. It was like a courage mantra. I forgot all about it until seeing this video, and now im going to reboot this mantra at age 39. THANK YOU!
Thank you for all that you do sir!! You bring back the games that i played back in the day on my NES. UCBVG, you're phenomenal!! In my opinion, the 80's and 90's were the best years of gaming for everyone. Have a great day!! 😀
loved this show when it was on saturday mornings, this game was so much fun like all other capcom disney games back then, fun fact about this game is its based on the mega man 4 engine and helped modify the engine enough they got mega man 5 out of it, a wonderful classic title
Darkwing Duck reminded me of the 66 Batman. He acted like he was serious while being completely comedic. I loved it despite already being an adult when it came out
I can't fully express how much I appreciate your guides. I know this game since it got released on the NES. But to this day I never found all bonus stages and I also never tried to find good strategies to beat the bosses the easier way. And now it can't be unlearned. And since I'm about to do the time trial stuff in the Disney Afternoon Collection your tips and tricks will come in very handy.
Darkwing Duck was both an amazing show and an amazing game. It's a shame it never got a sequel to either. It was a comedy first and foremost, but it had some genuinely creepy moments, and the game skewed a little darker than other Disney Afternoon games as well just due to Darkwing being a Batman-type character. I liked picking out stages from the world map, which was way more interesting than Scrooge picking one from his supercomputer. I didn't know about that prototype remake. I would've absolutely bought something like that day 1.
5:50 did he just alter his usual spiel of "let's get started" with "let's get dangerous"?!? That's amazing! Also cool for using Darkwing's end movie appearance in the Rescue Rangers movie.
i went ahead and attempted to play through this a few nights ago. i'm not as good at is as i remember, but i got to the end. you make that boss look easy. those heat-seeking guys really hung me up
OH MAN, MICKY MOUSECAPADES IS RIGHT THERE!!! We have waited so long, and now we are so close! I never played Darkwing Duck, but I know the theme song to the TV show by heart because of how many times I heard it right after school.
Played it 10 years ago and loved it. Wish it was a game that I owned as a kid. That and Ducktales, but the parents were not very good about gifting good video games at birthdays & holidays.
GOD I FREAKING LOVE WHEN YOU PULL ONE OF THESE SPECIAL VIDEOS OUT OF YOUR BUM! Let me explain, First off thank you for the game side aspect, second you encompass the whole of POP culture, then and NOW and I really appreciate and admire you for this. Third, I've never been able to play DWD on NES due to rental store aggrieGances (so sick of spell correcting getting things wrong) AND meaning, that whenever I would go to said NES rental store, I COULDN'T FIND DWD EVER! So, now am forced to be played through emulation. Thanks for making this video. New 3DS Rulez! it's a portable emulation STATION! (including PS1 games.)
I remember hearing that Wolfduck was going to be a villain in the 4th season of Darkwing Duck. Before the show got cancelled. ( I wonder if they will include him in the new series.) Also I saw some people actually take Wolf Duck out of his level and instead insert Negaduck.
Just to add that Christine Cavanagh passed away in 2014. She did many voices and even did some live action like playing the girlfriend of Ugg Lee on Salute Your Shorts which aired on Nickelodeon in the 90s. She even voiced Earlie Birdie from McDonalds in the early 2000s.
I made it to Steel Beak the first time I rented it. I didn’t complete it then because I couldn’t figure out how to get Steel Beak out of his chamber. Great game and one of my favs
Never played this one UCBVG . that forest reminded me of woodman stage. Same schematics. Love side scrollers. Awesome review. To bad its not on the switch.
Yay! Awake for when this came out for once. Night-shift FTW! And a game I am not to familiar with. I do remember renting it from Blockbuster, but that's it. Time to see why it evades my mind. Edit: God I forgot how good the shows intro was. Such a bop. And the remix here is funky as! XD
