"When you need my love". We've all had that one girl before. For me her name was Katie. It took me over 20 years to get over her and in some ways, i dont ever know if i will be 100% over her. Love is such a powerful emotion and the hurt that comes from it is equally strong.
Been 10 years for me and they stumbled back into my life 3 mos ago and I stupidly let them in and now I'm paying the heartbreaking price day after day, but at a much greater cost this time and idk how much longer I can pretend I'm fine with the situation that I knowingly accepted. So I listen to sad songs and cry about my own stupidity.

I miss my friend and have you forgotten have speciall meaning to me. My husband's unit was one of the first ones to get deployed to Iraq after 9/11. Such a scary time for all of us military wives on the base. Thank you Darryl for your wonderful music. I'm a forever fan .

Tightly stacked thick harmonies....steel guitar...mandolin...this is solid country gold. It's sadly missed nowadays. Don't get me wrong, I like some of the new stuff..but I'm 30 something and old enough to know what it was like when we had AMAZING country music like this...and it WASN'T that long ago. Some of the songs even took your ass to church. Just like my Grandma used to say..."It was a different time". I used to wonder what that meant. LOL! Now I know. At least this stuff was recorded and preserved so the generation coming up and cutting their teeth on country music has something to listen to and have as a foundation to build their lives on like the rest of us country music lovers did not so long ago.

Though this great debut single by Darryl Worley peaked at #15 according to Wikipedia, this song is a classic in my mind. I remember it always being stuck in my head when it first came out, and it was enough for me to take a chance on getting his first cd, Hard Rain Don't Last. It's one of those solid neo-traditional albums where it's nearly impossible to pick a favorite, filled with great melodies and lovely fiddle, steel guitar, and dobro playing throughout. It's still one of my favorite albums to listen to today. :) Always enjoyed this video, too, btw!
