As Padme and Vader were doing their things at the same time, then by this logic he would not have known about her death literally seconds after it had just happened. And yes, they happened at the same time. That's the point of the chosen cinematography employed in these Episode III scenes. It's entirely possible that he just assumed she was dead, given the fact that Anakin just got his ass kicked by Kenobi. Did he think Kenobi killed her? No, not likely. Nevertheless, Padme would have needed to go into exile if she was still alive, so it would have been in Palpatine's best interest to lie and say she was dead so Vader wouldn't go full rogue and try to find her himself (assuming she was still alive). The funeral after the fact was just added confirmation.

The problem with this theory is that it goes counter to all previous(canon still) lore. Like...how the force only works through LIVING things, and droid parts aren't living...and if the force is controlled by MIdichlorians, which are an aspect of the CELLULAR STRUCTURE...then removing living tissue and replacing it with metal would in fact remove a large portion of your potential. If, as Canon suggests, this is all true, then Vader should have been literally 1/5th of the Force User Anakin ever could have been at his very best....and honestly, that is what we see when we see Vader anytime on screen. A slow, unsteady man living in a cheaply made life support suit that can only use one force power....Telekinesis, the one they literally teach younglings first >.> And before anyone comes in with "What about Force Choke"...it's literally just telekinesis. It's the same as grab, throw, push and pull....you're simply holding in place. It's not a seperate power, and literally anyone with the ability to use the force could do it...

@@weeboftheleft5113 yeah, that's one of the messy/contradictory bits in both legends and new Canon. 100% that the living tissue is what connects you to the force. (And I hate this point, because I hate midichlorians.) But it's also contradicted by some of the weirder crap that's been thrown out there....force sensitive rocks? Really? Personally, I think his...er, amperage connection was damaged, but his voltage connection was stepped up by his suffering. Basically, he lost some natural ability, but it was mostly made up w dark side power fueled by, well everything. I do have to disagree on the great duelist idea though. (I'm sure that popped up somewhere in Canon that I don't remember, but hell, talking bunnies did too) To me, vaders power in duels was essentially shock and awe, and just tanking over people. Plus that kinda tracks with anakins earlier straight on attack mo, but with a lot less subtlety.

@@weeboftheleft5113 I'm not saying he was stronger than what anakin could've been bc he cant. His injuries make it that way. But he can become much more immersed in the dark side than before quite easily. Since the dark side let's pain and anguish become sources if power which after all hes been through he has. His emotions feed into his force powers. Yeah sure hes more machine than man at that point but he still is considered very powerful. Enough to that in most canons vader had the potential to still surpass Palatine. 80% of the emperor around a new hope is pretty impressive considering his injuries and age. Eith him only being in his early 40s. Those who suffered enough let's those who use the dark side to become stronger in the force. I mean anakin lost his hand but that doesnt mean he was unable to grow stronger in the force. It just makes the connection less potent overall. Which vader overcame this downside with constant meditation and coming to terms with his situation and hating himself and using that hate to fuel the dark side. So it's not outlandish for darth vader to be stronger than anakin skywalker during revenge of the sith. In fact I'm pretty sure that's the general consensus when you compare the two. Canon and non canon.

If midichlorians Are the actual scientific reason why someone has force powers to begin with, then emotion has nothing to do with it and would not be able to strengthen their affinity with the force. But that's honestly a Lucas mistake... Nothing to do with Disney at that point. He hurt his Is own story by trying to add a scientific explanation for a religious cult's magical powers

@@weeboftheleft5113 yeah midichloroans are what filter the force through living tissue but that doesnt mean much. I mean anakin had even more midichlorians than Yoda but he still wasnt more powerful than him. More midichlorians means more potential in the force but not the same level of power

I'd personally love a comic where Vader is just trying to walk his dog or make a cup of coffee but his arms keep malfunction and spinning around. He's swinging the dog around by his leash and shit.

@@slimyduck2140 The castle was created as a sith force machine thingy for evil reasons... There's a comic on it, I won't spoil it. Kinda funny that his "castle" was built for functionality, with living conditions considered second. Not a place to relax in its intended design.

Because of the intentional heartbeat placed into the Vader/Padme scene in Episode III. The underlying score of the heartbeat when flashing between Padme's last breaths and Vader's transformation was done intentionally, and adds validity to these theories. Of course, the heartbeat could have been added for dramatic effect or as an analogy for the death of Anakin and Padme vs the birth of Vader. The only part of Anakin that was still alive was in Padme, and when she died any part of Anakin was killed as well. Hence the stopped beating at Padme's death and the start at Vader's first breath through his new life support system.

Honestly, if Disney hadn't bought the franchise, the old EU probably would have had them encounter each other and then lose track of each other between 3 and 4. Let's be honest, George Lucas used to let writers get away with anything as long as it wasn't related to blocking lightsabers.

The lightsaber cauterized the wounds, making reattachment nearly impossible. For a more in-universe explanation, bionics are likely just a more convenient method than advanced surgery. I mean think about it. If you reattach the limb, you have an entire period of recovery time. With bionics, the recovery time is however long it takes you to wake up and start using your robotic limb. Even with bacta, anything other than instant is inferior.
