Ye this is what happens when different company’s, writers, directors and just everyone get to do media for a big franchise with loose guidelines there’s always gonna be contradictions especially with Star Wars (thanks Disney) but what bugs me are those weirdly obsessed Star Wars fans that get mad when u point out that the Star Wars timeline has a bunch of holes and then they try so hard to make reasons for the plot holes and it’s like bruh DADDY
@@epicphantom589 when you wrote fan fiction about the ewok people being uplifted technologically and educationally into a first rate species, and joining the republic as a minor member, with 3-4 ewok fighters joining Leia and Han's household guard in their skyscraper quarters on courascant. This begins a long history of republic and ewok relations, as ewoks on the moon are drafted to patrol it for stranded imperials, and uplifted educated ewoks turn to droid and computer repair and light guard service with the republic. They make great ceremonial guards who can still be useful if a real fight ever came. I also believe luke finds one force sensitive ewok. Its a descendant of the ewoks from the ewok adventure movies, to make the continuity make sense, and you can say the heroic nature of the ewoks involved were signs of their force sensitivity, leading to the great candidate of that ewok padawan. Some ewoks even become pilots or merchants, and the slow migration of second generation post ds2 ewoks and their comfortable positions during the construction of the new republic.
Could both be true? Maybe Palpatine had acquired Anakin's arm and began his experiments. But, due to technology limitations or age, Anakin's arm decayed and was no longer useful, so Palpatine had to put his project on hold because there wasn't much left on Vader to consume for his experiments. Until Luke lost his hand, and fresh Skywalker flesh was available Once more.
I agree. The reason why Palpatine is not in pain is because he has complete embrace of the darkside. Vader being in pain means there is still good in him.
@@tylerlamb9930 exactly. That is when Vader realized this goes beyond Darkside. That is why the force gave him the vision telling him he can destroy sidings it was his destiny
I don’t think it makes sense for Palps to have Anakin’s hand, he literally preforms so many medical procedures on him that he would have near infinite DNA samples of Anakin.
@@johnbravo1034 I mean the “AHHH” he makes after zapping mace out the window, sounds exactly like I did in the cinema lavatory after bombing a 44oz coke during the first act of iron man 3 and then Subsequently sitting through the entire film without going to the restroom
I think Palpatine was susceptible to the pain, but he fully embraced it and didn’t react even though he actually was also in horrific pain. Look at his demeanor as he was being fried by his own lightning off Windu’s saber, he was actually speaking rather calmly with all his urgency toward only Anakin choosing to save him, not with how much pain he was in. Versus Luke’s reaction to being zapped.
This takes place shortly after Empire Strikes Back, which means that Emperor did a hell of a lot of cloning with Luke's hand is a very short amount of time. Using the hand of the chosen one over a period of decades, one slice at a time, makes more sense. My only complaint about this storyline is the more powerful they make Palpatine, the less believable it is that Rey would be the one to take him out.
@@jamesl4008 To think george gave star wars to disney because he thought he was too old and the sequel trilogy and tv series he planned wouldn't be made because he could die first . He is still freaking alive and we got an insult of a disney trilogy and the star wars brand being milked to the death by disney
@@samtagg8754 Palpatine could have retrieved Anakin's hand from his first battle with Dooku. That would have given him decades of cloning experiments, and it would maybe explain why he was so quick to destroy Kamino...he already had the genetic material that he needed with Anakin's hand to move his cloning operations to Exegol.
Palpatine wasnt effected cause he's a psycho/sociopath so he revels in it while Vader still uses emotions to fuel himself with his depression two very separate worlds. But this type of Palpatine reminds me of the ancient Sith and how they saw the force in a much bigger way and used it in a much bigger way.
Well it was always a clone, why did this clone have dark side stability and was so powerful, Luke, the only other being other than anakins uh corpse or ig maybe the kylo ren dyad, and ofc palpatine that can muster up this amount of well, Force. All the other Jedi are dead and maybe if he got it from the bison true force beholder that’s in Rebels that would make sense, palpatine could have personally dominated the creature I believe that. But no him being a clone was where they messed up, they’re tryna make the best out the doo doo they have left to work with
Yup it also brings up the same problem that introducing Hashirama Cells into the story in Naruto. It instantly gave them the ability to undo everything that happened. Here you have the ability to to just explain any shenanigans away by oh it's a clone of Luke.
@@starrynight7783 hashirama cells were used everwhere in naruto, luke cells were only used once outside of his body here, plus i think its a logical explanation as to why snoke was as strong as he was, he had the cells of the force user with the most potential of all time, Obviosuly snoke was incomplete which explains why he wasnt stronger. If they use it 8 more times like in naruto sure i can see why its an issue, but a once off thing is fine and even makes sense. I agree its not original and a bit of wasted potential but its not outlandish
Its not that bad, think of the medical technology of the verse, palpatines intelligence in relation to the verse and think of how it pretty cleanly explains snokes power albiet not in the most original way. Its unoriginal but not bad
@@Mmmm-tx6qc Sure it's a logical answer to why Snoke is so powerful, but it absolutely destroys everything. The fact that you can clone at least 6 Snokes (i've never counted how many were in that vat in RoS) from however much genetic information they had from Luke. The Kaminoans were able to clone Jango Fett from a very limited supply of DNA millions and millions of times over for years past his death, but let's grant that midichlorians won't let you clone force users perfectly or maybe it takes more DNA. An untrained Rey was able to defeat Luke in combat. Snoke absolutely shat on Rey in the throne room in that same movie. That means that with the number of Snokes that Old Palps had access to he could've absolutely destroyed the resistance without the use of Kylo Ren. The problem isn't the fact that they used his cells it's the sheer amount of fuckery that the implication of them using his cells causes. Because they could have a squadron of Snokes with the Force abilities of Luke MFin Skywalker. No matter how good Luke is he can't contend with 6 people with 75% of his strength.
These "canon" (Disney) comics couldn't possibly get any dumber at this point. :P ....And you can just throw that claim of "a thousand times more powerful than the galaxy has ever seen" straight into the trash. Look what happened to that fleet of Star Destroyers in "Rise of Skywalker".
Wait wait wait. So palpatine had that giant fleet where every ship had a deathstar laser on it that could destroy a planet? So why the hell is he trying to make the death stars when he has this fleet? This new canon makes no sense
It's actually pretty simple, the fleet wasn't ready yet. Think about it, we're beginning to build next gen aircraft while still finishing last gen aircraft.
@@randallmay6345 yeah, but why would you spend a ridiculous amount of resources on a Death Star when you are already building a fleet of much smaller and more nimble ship that can do the same thing. Wouldn’t it make more sense to put the recourses from the Death Star into the Death Stardestroyer fleet so that the fleet can be completed quicker, or have more ships.
Disney are really trying hard to make Exegol relevant lol. I think deep down Disney knows that they messed up with the terrible Disney trilogy. But are doubling down and referencing everything from Episode 7-9. So desperate.
Desperate or Determined? Desperate was to at the last minute was to bring back Palpatine. Determined is to continue to try and tie in their weaknesses into the previous 6 films.
@@katerbiller04 I mean it makes sense. I wasn't a big fan of the prequel era until The Clone Wars and a crap-ton of other ancillary material *_made it_* into something I enjoyed.
Dude they have to have a consistent canon. It makes no sense to ignore it how or when was starkillerbase was made or when was the exegol fleet made or where did smoke come from? You need these questions answered. For casual movie watching you don't need to know but when watching in a full saga you need to connect the dots
@@Xelpherpolis at least the prequels made sense and were created with a plan in mind. They weren't sure if Rey was a Palpatine even during ep 9's filming and during that they were swaying over it.
@Cody Brock I mean at once. But, even then, one Death Star was enough to scare the Rebels. And Palps is mass producing those Star Destroyers. So, you can just send out a couple (or even one) and still keep building the rest. And because one would be destroyed, that doesn't mean the rest are gone.
Ochi of Bestoon is such a cool looking character. I really hope that we one day learn more about him. Dude literally caught a lightsaber thrown at him by Darth Vader. So he's got to be a seriously trained warrior. Plus he is super agile and can jump pretty damn high for a character thats not force sensitive.
@ND Needs a Freeman Factor on Offense yeah cuz watching through the political scenes, anakin and padme flirting and the whole jarjar thing was so pleasing. I remember everyone trashing the prequels just as much as the sequels. Well obviously not that obvious because of barely any online sites like youtube to post about it lol.
@@geoffreyrichards6079 no, come on please, you know what he means. Plus Star Wars isn’t that goofy anyway. Oh wait, except for Jar Jar and a few characters, but the villains are not.
Now imagine the effect the kyber crystal mound would have if multiple light side force users were to purify the kyber crystal and stop it's pain. It may actually heal a force user.
It’s hilarious that after what Vader tried to do there to kill Palpatine, in Return of The Jedi he just threw him off from a platform in a few seconds and killed him instantly
@@Slender_Man_186 well said. it irritates me to no end that Rey just CLAIMED the skywalker name....out of thin air. no reason at all. no claim. she didnt even get FULLY trained by a skywalker, so she's not a GRADUATE of the Skywalker School of Hard Knocks.
My biggest issue with this issue is that Palps is building the Death Star Destroyers right now, while he’s building the Death Star 2. Why? Why build the second Death Star, it’s being made obsolete while it’s being built!
Perhaps he wanted the rebels to have a false sense of victory by destroying the Emperor and the second death there would be no more Empire all the while sidious would just hop in a new clone body and xontinue his fleet its a brilliant idea weather the rebels won at endor or lost Darth sidious wins
The Death Star 2 was built because Palps had to lead fear in the galaxy to continue his rule & destroy the rebel alliance but then Vader ruined it all lol
So does Rey have Skywalker blood? Does this means that she is truly a Skywalker not only by name but by blood? If her dad was a strand-cast of Palpitine and possibly Luke's (hand) DNA that means she might have a portion of Skywalker in her.
@@impossible-bother2586 When did they do that. I thought Disney made these comics cannon they just pulled a character from the comics in the book of Boba Fett.
1. Disney didn't do anything. It was Lucasfilm. 2. Snoke was never very interesting to me. I only ever really saw him as just a blatant rip-off of Palpatine. The sequels have tons of issues, but imo killing off Snoke was a good one as Kylo was a much more interesting and unique main villain and should've been the main villain in TROS.
@@ignisinfernal1843 Disney had the scripts changed. Also, Snoke was not like Palpatine. He was older and he was stronger than him. Also, Palpatine wanted order, Snoke wanted to crush anyone who opposed him.
@@michelletackett9489 Disney doesn't micromanage. They just buy proven successes and take the money. Any changes in the script would've been done by Lucasfilm. Lucasfilm also was incredibly hands-off and just let the directors do their own thing without making a plan beforehand for them to work with. Snoke was never said to be older or more powerful in anything before or after TROS. Palpatine also wanted to crush anyone who opposed him. Both were old, powerful, disfigured, and mysterious dark side users who wore robes and lead a fascist dictatorship that fought against a rebel group and manipulated members of the Skywalker family to turn to the dark side and wear a mask who eventually turned on them and killed them (or seemed to in the case of Palpatine). In TFA and most of TLJ, there was nothing that made Snoke distinct from Palpatine.
@@michelletackett9489 There's no evidence of this I can find. If you can provide the novel, I'll look into it. Even then, it could always just have been meant as speculation/rumor or Snoke trying to make himself seem more intimidating. Also, the novels and comics that take place post-ROTJ weren't worked on by the people making the films and have been contradicting the films since TFA so it doesn't really say much.
Luke did know about Exegol. Anakin likely told him about Exegol but Anakin himself didn't know that Sidious was capable of soul transference. Anakin might have assumed that the Sith Eternal was merely a secretive faction of the Galactic Empire and underestimated the cult's independence from the Empire. It should be noted that many Dark Side factions do exist like the Knights of Ren. The existence of the Sith Eternal is a classic Palpatine move as he had contingencies after contingencies. From the Vader comics, Sidious knew Vader was turning to the light likely sparking the reason for Sidious growing interested in Luke becoming Vader's replacement. However, Sidious underestimated Anakin's love for his son causing his sudden downfall. Sidious' plan was to use the Sith Fleet and his own Dark Side powers to eradicate any resistance against the First Order in Exegol. He would've been successful if Rey was not backed up by Jedi Force Ghosts, including Anakin.
So, why didn't Vader use this opportunity to dark force heal himself? The pain could've been used to fuel Vader's power and therefore he could fix his lungs and the such without breaking his focus.
Force healing is a light side ability The dark side version of force healing isn't "real" force healing, it doesn't repair damaged organs, it just makes them temporarily function again.
In Legends, I think Shadow of the Empire, he could heal himself and when he did, he started to feel relief from the constant pain, and it caused him to lose his connection to the dark side.
Hmm, I wonder if Palpatine was using an ability much lile Darth Sion. The pain always there, aware but almost numb. Keeping him alive and strong. That closeup of this face gave me that impression.
Sidings fully embodied the darkside. Vader simply cannot, he is still after all the chosen one. Even with all of Vader hatred, the pain of Kaberle crystal is simply to much for Vader. It even gave him a vision of the force reminding Vader it is his destiny to destroy sidious
@@armaniwebb4467 I scrolled through quite a bit to get to this comment. A couple of notes. One... this entire event is just a testament to not only Vader's tenacity but his sheer power in the force, something even Palpatine realized. Palpatine never really questions Vader's power, only ever his potential. Sidious himself, as you mentioned, fully embodied the darkside. There's not even the slightest glimmer of light. There's no alternate him he constantly fights. Vader, however, was once good as Anakin, a glimmer of light he could never fully put out. To me, it was Anakin feeling the pain, not Vader. A true darksider, like Sidious, would be numb to it's cries. I doubt even Maul and Dooku would even be able to stand it. Dooku, being a darksiders, never embraced it as Vader and Maul. Maul, though very much embroiled in the darkside, just seems like he wouldn't be able to face off the Kyber still standing. I'm very proud of this comic series showing that for anyone less than Sidious, even by a small margin, Vader would annihilate them. However I do acknowledge that Disney, cleaning up their mess is quite obvious. It fills plotholes only to make new ones... soooo.... -_-
@@theramblingmillennial3770 I concur. Vaders will power, his might. His strength, his intellect, and his raw might in the force is beyond measure. Tbh, to me this comic series has truly shown that Vader truly is the chosen one. He cannot be defeated, and he is the only one who can stand to sidious. Sidious was able to fight off Yoda toe to toe aswell as mace. Yet, although sidious is significantly stronger now compared to ep 3 he dared not face Vader until he was surrounded by the unlimited power of the mountain of corrupted krystal
If that's the case during order 66 ALL jedi bodies should've been taken and used for cloning. Utilizing the tissue of some of the most powerful masters to make perfect clones.
Very nice analysis Appreciate the details you noticed and your thoughts on them Nice reading comprehension. Nice work. May the Force be with you, always.
The role of master and apprentice in the order of the Sith is truly the antithesis of the relationship between Master and Padawan in the order of the Jedi. Self-destructive, abusive, contentious, and cruel. And that dynamic the pupil will never ascend beyond the rule of apprentice when the master loves being in control. Not without his death at the pupil's hands.
Here’s why that’s important Giant Kyber Crystals are used to power planet destroying super weapons like the Death Star and Starkiller Base For the Excelgol Star Destroyer Fleet used in Rise of Skywalker, they’re still being built But Palpatine revealed these Crystals are different Sith Sabers are red because Sith make their Crystals suffer until they bleed red The Excelgol Star Destroyers’ beams are red because their Kyber Crystals are made to suffer too Palpatine broke Vader to submission, making him feel the giant Kyber Crystals’ pain, showing him that as long as Vader walks with Sidious, he’ll always suffer. But it’s the only way he’ll share his power. That revelation broke Vader, and turned him back to Sidious’ side for now at least All this explains how Rise of Skywalker happened. Not only the presumed origin of Snoke, Palpatine’s survival in Clone bodies, but the Excelgol fleet and how dangerous they are compared to the Death Star All this was Palpatine’s plan for the future If he lived, then he’ll fortify his rule of the Empire with these weapons If he died, then he’s ready for the future
The fact that Luke's hand was there makes me think that the strand-casts Palpatine was making were made not only with his genetic makeup, but Luke's. Being a Sith Palpatine was always seeking more power. He realized when he first met Anakin, how powerful he was, and as he watched him grow throughout the years how powerful he could become. Palpatine knew that Anakin would be a powerful ally and apprentice if he turned to the darkside. He also knew how much of a threat he could have been if he stayed a Jedi. This was also true for those born from the Skywalker bloodline, which is why he wanted Vader to turn Luke to the darkside, and eventually replace Vader as his apprentice. But that wouldn't stop Palpatine from seeking out ways to make himself more powerful. Using his vast power over the galaxy and his connections he probably had Luke's severed hand recovered and brought to Exegol to use his Skywalker DNA in his cloning experiments so as to add the power of the Skywalker bloodline to his own great level of power, and those of his strand-casts.
@joshsmith9 Part 7 plays too hard on nostalgia, but it was pretty good. Then episode 8 took the trilogy in whole new direction after johnson took over (he also butchered Luke, kinda broke the universe by introducing hyperspace suicide bombers and made the whole movie two massive fillers that didn't do much), then in 9 abrahams came back, tried to do what he planned originally but had to rush everything because he didn't have part 8 to establish anything he needed to. So in short: 7 was wasted for nostalgia, 8 was wasted because of poor communication and direction, and 9 was wasted because it had nothing to build on.
Bruh idk this reminds me of some of the stupidest legends comics. Like palpating is getting power from a giant Kaiber crystal that is being tortured by dudes with saws to make it bleed? I always took sith “bleeding” their crystals not as literally physically hurting a crystal like it has a central nervous system but a more force/mental type scenario
The Kyber served Sidious that is why it did not harm him. He had spent time there bonding and bleeding the crystal just an advantage he had its not that he was immune he was wielding it himself. What would have been funnier is if Vader snatched that power from him in Mortis level fashion and turned it back on palps and annihilated him.
Well it would have made sense either because Count Dooku cut off Anakin's arm not his hand so it is definitely Luke Skywalker's hand or at least a hand of some kind but it is definitely not Anakin's hand at all you can tell by the cut and burns on the hand itself that it was afflicted by a lightsaber as you can tell the burnt on the flash itself and Count Dooku cut off Anakin's arm you don't see any harm in that too so it's definitely not Anakin's
This truly makes me believe that this is canon because it gives more meaning to the sheer emotion and fear to Vader's common line "You don't *KNOW* the power of the Dark Side". Along with Vader blocking Luke's strike upon The Emperor, Vader knows the *true* power the emperor possess but Luke did not in that moment
This comic series does a good job connecting all trilogies - Padme’s burial grounds, Luke and Vader, Exegol, The Final Order Fleet, Sabé, Mustafar, Luke’s hand and realization of Vader. It’s like poetry.
The ending pisses me off (bc of the story not writing), I hate how Anakin just joins palpatine even tho he knows deep inside he wants to be with Luke 😢
Curious that Mass Omeda is there at the end. If that's Exogol, it would be very odd for him to have not shared its location with Mon Mothma and the New Republic after the shattered Empire started talks with them. You'd think he wouldn't leave out planet killing weapons underneath a Sith outpost from a plea deal. Though maybe Palpatine kept the location hidden and him out of the loop on where they were. Still odd.
How does that make more sense? He JUST got his hand cut off and Palps cloned the snokes super fast? Wouldn't it have taken a little more time to get the clones going?
I think what this comic is showing and that Bad Batch season 3 is confirming is that Palpatine's first priority was to preserve his life in the case of his death. But not only just that, specifically from his apprentice Vader. He wanted to save himself from the classic Sith graduation ceremony.
So, if Palpatine used lukes hand and DNA to create clones, then, Rey would have Skywalker DNA because her dad was a Palpatine clone... so officially Rey is a Skywalker...
After episode 7 I wondered if Rey was some sort of altered Anakin clone, but I thought that was a little far fetched because clones were replicas in Star Wars. But that would have explained why she had all these abilities. Later I heard it was because she absorbed them from Kylo during that mind meld thing in episode 7.
