The reason why Darth Vader destroyed C-3PO was because I reminded him of his past as he was the one who created it and he felt pain seeing it after the clone wars working for the rebels like R2-D2 seeing them as basic droids

Seeing how Vader had a tendency to destroy pieces of his past, realizing he had C3PO may have been the reason he ordered to destroy it in the first place.

I think Vader would definitely destroy C-3PO if he found out who he was, as we all know Vader does not like existing links to his past

I've seen all of the star wars films, the first 6 multiple times, and read a few comics but I definitely wouldn't call myself a superfan of star wars, but these videos are so entertaining and interesting to me and I end up binge watching them for hours

Vader wanting C-3PO to be destroyed sounds sensible to me. It's a connection to his old life he wants to forget.

I had a '74 Dodge Dart once I really liked. I got it in '85 (already an _old_ car ) for the right price (really cheap), the body was in really good condition, and after I gave it a full tune-up, a new (used) set of tires, and tweaked the timing a bit, it ran like a top. I drove that car for about a hundred thousand miles before I sold it and got a newer/better car. As much as I loved that car, I wouldn't give too much thought if someone parked it in front of my house and handed me the keys to having it junked if it wasn't what I wanted or needed in an automobile. In the SW Universe, I imagine that's how many think towards droids. We love R2D2 and C3PO, they are special to _us_ the viewer/reader but only because we don't live with droids daily.

Vader knew, “aniken skywalker wasn’t week so I destroyed him.” The attachments of the Jedi were not things that he felt were useless but things that pulled him, reminded him about his past and padme. He destroyed it because he didn’t want to be reminded/distracted. Later Vader says it’s to late for me, indicating that he knows he is in the wrong but cannot turn back now. He has to finish what he started

I think Darth Vader wanted to get rid of C3P0 so they couldn't get information out of him, because if they did and the rebellion lost the war too soon then Palpatine would truly rule everything which would make him all-powerful, and that wouldn't work in Darth Vaders favor since he wants to rule instead, and in order to have a chance of overthrowing Palpatine, the war had to go on, so he wanted C3P0 destroyed
