Aggel W of DeviantArt does these amazing concepts of 'Fan Fixes', correcting continuity issues present in Star Wars and sometimes even enhancing a scene with his ideas. I decided to bring one of his concepts to life, though out of respect, none of his imagery was applied in this edit.
To begin with, I tinted Vader's helmet lenses red, to better match his appearance in A New Hope & Rogue One etc I didn't want it too red, just a subtle tint, implying it's a prop design than a digital edit.
Next, I asked Crimson Maul to re-colour & better define Anakin's Sith eyes, so they glow more yellow and their red edges more visible. Once Crimson Maul finished the frame, I ran it through Ebsynth and applied it to the entire shot of Anakin's eyes.
Next, I needed to add Vader's missing collar to the long shot, so I contacted Darth Porg for his photoshop skills. What I didn't expect was for him to create a fully animated neckpiece. Darth Porg also created a new chest piece to correctly overlay the close-up collar shot. He also added a glove to Vader's hand and animated that too.
Darth Porg also re-sized Anakin's exposed head for accuracy.
Last and certainly not least, Darth Porg created a brand new burnt Vader face so we could better align his mouth with the closing mask.
Darth Porg also added Smoke overlays to make the new images seem natural and part of the scene.
