DartZone Pro MK 4.0 - Testing and Review

It seems like you didn't notice throughout the video, but if you remove the back plate from the stock, there is actually space to store the scar barrel in there!

So it’s pretty much Dart Zone’s worker swift. I’m so excited for it!

On a podcast DartZone reps hinted at the use of a 20mm spacer with the heavy spring, and the darts that come with it are the “Bamboo 2x darts” which are supposed to be heavier than the Bamboo 2.0s.

Definitely an interesting blaster but it does seem like there are several other options that might be as good or better for less money.

You really liked the Harrier -- would like to hear your thoughts comparing the two along with seeing the MK4's performance with heavier springs. Perhaps spring swap between the two blasters and compare apples to apples?

I literally was thinking to myself 60 MINUTES AGO that I haven't heard a peep about this. Now this shows up. Edit: Very interesting blaster. I hope somebody creates a stock extension that allows for a ridiculously long spring. Very unfortunate that the scar barrel can't attach to the extended barrel. This, to me, should have been the Mk 1.2.

I just got mine, I love it. Not accurate with the super charge barrel though. With the scar it’s very fun. Very light prime for such high performance. I wish the front grip wasn’t so bulky but that’s only from looking at it, in the hand it does actually feel pretty natural. Thanks again for the great vid!

I like it. I think it is at it's best without the barrel extension Just the heavier spring and the scar barrel getting 180 certainly isn't bad. I'm always a big fan of a blaster being compact and getting the front end as light as possible. Greta review, Thanks!

Good concept but for the price point there are a multitude of better options.

Very happy to see this is living up to expectations. The ability to load & unload while primed is apparently a feature of the magazines, so while the blaster does take the old mags, you can't unload while primed with them, fyi. I'm sure Out of Darts will have a slew of accessories available before I even receive mine, so I'm not too worried about other limitations. Would be nice to see this up against the Harrier & the Swift, but also, I want to see how the new darts perform compared to the old ones, and perhaps the even older ones if you have any. Probably a good idea to try it out with the Ruby/Ember/Worker darts as well, since, realistically speaking, that is what it will be used with for most games.

My issue is the length. You can get those numbers with blaster a lot shorter, from Retalicon, Harrier etc or Lynx. People have gotten more power from DZP Mk1s and Strikers. If they had improved the build quality of those platforms and the power I would have been more impressed. It is good they've got their own SCAR now though so that's a plus 🙂

Prefered the max stryker aesthetic, and look forward to more from them, but this is neat!

That orange "collar" on the barrel extension at the front looks like a separate piece, if you can open the barrel extension could this piece be removed to make room for the SCAR attachment on the front of the extension?

Thank you for this! Great to finally see the Mk4 in the hands of someone with an analytical eye. Even after researching this for PNNN, your video still had some surprises for me. Could you give us a closer look at the magazines and the pusher? According to their marketing, they skipped a skinny pusher for flexible magazine feed lips. I'd really like to know more about compatibility with talons, tachis, etc, how well the mk4 mags work in other blasters, and how flexible the feed lips actually are.

I'm hoping Dart Zone has a lever action blaster as well as a bolt action blaster

I feel like this is an exceptional blaster, but 180$ is a lot, the max stryker is 60$, the trion and mk 1.2 are 80$, it really matters your budget if this blaster is right for you

My FPT team's experience with Bamboo 2.0s at least was that they were really nice in cool, dry environments, but didn't do well in heat and/or humidity - the foam tended to loose integrity. That behavior caused several jams at FPT finals. I hope the new darts go some way toward fixing that! It's definitely worth trying them out again on a dry day, even if you don't want to make it into a full video. Personally, I've had the most consistent feeding, firing, and "sitting in the mag without squishing" performance from AF Pro and Worker HE darts - though there *is* the issue of finding the AF Pros again lol. I'm curious if that matches your experience!

For me being in the land of Oz, this blaster is.... whats the best way to put this.... Is a poor performing light dart shooting behemoth that looks like a kid with a crayon designed, that will be stupidly priced. I have shown issues with the Worker Harrier, but the Harrier is a massively better blaster than this MK4 right out of the box, with better ergo and fps and tou can run a scar on the longer barrels. Its good to see they have improved it, but its still undesirable blaster for the pricing where i live.

I'm wondering why they didn't put a window so you can see when you get to your last dart. Combined with the lack of de-prime without dry firing this seems like a big oversight.

I saw in a dr flux short (he was just a bit earlier than you) there's picatinny under the foregrip so you can switch it quite easily. Does it take regular talons though? Would be funny if this barrel fits the deuce pro or the other way round

A great middle spring for this would be a 150. Also, how difficult would it be to design thumb screws for the system?

I really hope that foregrip is hiding a picatinny because it's really killing the vibe for me. Overall though, as a concept, I love this blaster.

Sounds like it is time for another Slightly Unfair Reviews. Also, infanticide! What about the Silver Dollar Accords?

This one feels weird to me. As-is, it looks like a slightly nicer Trion for over twice the price. Which means it looks like it's meant to be a Harrier alternative. I have yet to handle this, but I'm curious if this feels sturdier or nicer than the Harrier since they come in at similar price points. If you can get up to 300FPS with this, like the Harrier potentially can, then I can see this as a very viable alternative.

The dartzone people said themselves that they redesigned their mags so whatever will feed the mags functions like it has a skinny pusher, it was super fascinating

It's very strange that it can't even keep up with its predecessors with the lower setup. I wonder if its because of spring compression or barrel fit. It would be nice to see it compared to the other dz primaries length wise. I was hoping you could get some readings and range test with the old bamboo darts too. If the high powered spring is it's redeeming quality, I personally would have preferred it bolt action but it isn't that bad on the eyes.

Definitely seems like they wanted to compete with the Caliburn. But how does it stack up with the Harrier?

I want FPS for Max Darts... I assume those are their new 2.0 darts your using.

Potentially dumb question Captain, but could you use the long barrel on the Dart Zone Max Deuce Pro, or are they incompatible without 3D Printing?

I'm curious to see if its compatible with the springs for the Swift. And what numbers those would generate in the mk4.

Much better than I thought it would be after their last debacle with the mk1.2 I like the look, would be nice if someone would make a fly wheeler that looks like this. Did you ever take that front pump off to see if there is picc under that, cuz that is the one thing that doesn't work for me. I think a regular style low profile pump stock would be better (for me at least).

The fact that they include pretty beefy eye-pro tells you from the unboxing its gonna have some zip. 😁

Not a huge fan of the aesthetics, to be honest. But I'll see how everything else goes once I get my hands on it... thought it wasn't coming out till mid-summer or later, so I'm surprised to see review samples go out so early! Anyways, good luck with the spiders -- hope they're not widows.

It is a Homely Blaster, and you forgot to do the Taste Test.

I see they went the Worker direction and made their blaster completely un-mod-able for standard airsoft/real steel parts. Kind of meh tbh, might as well print a Caliburn 4. @blasterface you're up next for a high volume plunger tube long barrel injection molded blaster that is mod-able with high quality parts.

Very interesting, being a smaller adult nerfer could you show it next to a Max Stryker and a Nexus. I'm wondering if this will be too large for me to effectively use.
