Daruk made me cry a bit, he reminded me of some type of dad like figure. Like his personality was just so goofy and supportive , yet serious. I was just so surprised at how this pulled at my feels, usually I don't really cry for games.
Actually I've seen comments on other videos of people who genuinely don't like it. It's like people who are disgusted for no reason with anime art style.
Everyone gushes over how amazing Urbosa, Mipha, and Revali's theme songs are, and I agree. Daruk's theme, however, is underrated, and my personal favorite put of the champion's themes. This remix was AMAZING!
One time I accidentally rag-dolled down a hill--and just as I stopped rolling, guess whose protection was ready to roll? That phrase has never been the same for me but it's great XD
LMAO YES also the sequel announcement has me hyped, every time I think about the wound visible on Ganondorf's chest in the trailer and the way his neck snaps into place when he awakens makes me wish I had the $60 that Twilight Princess HD still is (or a GameCube, I'm not picky about graphics) I'm sorry I just comment everything about BoTW 2 about everything but yes your comment is amazing unlike my grammar
I LOVE ALL OF THE CHAMPIONS THEMES THEY HAVE TO BE SOME OF MY FAVOURITE MUSIC IN THE ENTIRE SERIES I love all champions probably equally for different reasons, but my favourite themes of them go 1. Daruk's Theme (chunky boi who gives a lot of hope :) 2. Mipha's Theme (fish waifu with sad story and she's very kind) 3. Urbosa's Theme (badass lightning mom in heels who is motherly) 4. Revali's Theme (snarky but working hard Ravioli who is determined) But I love all of these themes though don't get me wrong.
I love all the remixes of the champions themes, Mipha's is still my favorite. I do agree that we need remixes of the Divine Beasts battles, Vah Ruta does have an amazing soundtrack, so does Naboris
Revali isn't a douche, in fact, he's quite the opposite. Revali had no one there for him, be it family or friends, he was just a lonely rito trying to make his way in life. Link was the hero of Hyrule destined to banish the calamity, Zelda was the princess of Hyrule, Urbosa was the beloved ruler of the Gerudo, Mipha was the princess of the Zora, and Daruk was a well-renowned warrior loved by all of the Goron and had a statue made in his name. Revali showed unmatched perserverance and bravery in his journey to becoming the most skilled rito of them all. There are memories of him legitimately hurting himself whilst training, his dedication unlike any other champion. He revolutionized flying for the rest of Hyrulean time and even perfected mid-air combat. Through all of his trife, all he is known for is his douchy attitude. No one was ever there for Revali, he worked his way to the top, while the other champions were born silver spoon in hand, and that's why he despised Link so much. That's also why Revali will forever remain my favorite of the 5 Champions and by far the one I respect the most and can relate with.
all of the 4 champions themes are so calm and amazing. But what if they were strong and full of power ? Like a 'action' remix of them. Because those themes seems so sad and chillful at the same time.
i think that's because the champions knew their fate ahead of time. they could see Zelda was struggling to access the sealing power and they would have sensed that until she realised her wish to protect Link, she wouldn't be able to do it. the themes could be sad because they knew they wouldn't make it out alive.
sorry. it's easy to get carried away with music. but it's not hugely off-topic. the tragedy of the champions is represented by their themes, in a sense. my theory above only comes from the observation that in the games, the champions seemed surprisingly calm about the fact that calamity ganon was about to rise
Alfie Thomas I think that the themes correspond with their emotions toward Link and Zelda. Mipha: She's in love with Link. Always has been. She dreamt of a future where she and Link could be together, with Sidon at their side, peacefully living in Zora's Domain. She even made that armor for him. But she never got to tell him how she felt because she was killed by Waterblight Ganon. Revali: Revali is a bit... salty? More bitter though. When it comes to Link's role in the fight compared to his, he's jealous. He knows that even with his skills in archery and mastery of the skies, he will probably never match up to the hero of legend. Even so, he did what he could to prove himself to be worthy of being a champion, taunting Link to rid himself of frustrations. But he never really showed his full potential because he was killed by Windblight Ganon. He regrets everything. Daruk: He's accomplished in many ways. He regards Link as a brother to the Gorons, as they are fellow champions and great friends. He was aware that he was to play a supporting role to the hero and princess, and he was okay with that. Even though Fireblight Ganon killed him, he knew that he did what he could to help them. Urbosa: Gerudo Chief was her title. A duty she rightfully carried out even as a champion. She was very fond of Zelda, as she knew Zelda's mother before she died, or, in a few theories, was murdered in an attempt to resurrect Calamity Ganon, which failed at first. In one of the memories, she calls Zelda 'bluebird,' which is what Zelda's mother called her when she was she was still alive. Urbosa regarded and loved Zelda as if she was her daughter, making sure that she was being treated well and protected. She knew all too well that Zelda had problems harnessing the powers she inherited, and tried to comfort her in all the ways she could. She was fond of Link as well, but more so of Zelda. When she was killed by Thunderblight Ganon, she had only one regret: that she was unable to help Zelda with her powers.
Strength of the mountain, strength of the stone Dig through the mountain we call home Stand and be strong, never stand alone! So long ago, simpler days Everyone went on their way When did the world get so strange? Times and your friends will change Strength of the mountain, strength of the stone As long as there is strength in these bones I will stand strong, protecting my home I am Goron! And we never walk alone! (Come fan the flame, brother in name) (Stand tall together, protect our home) I am Goron! (And we never walk alone!) Carry my name, carry the flame Hero, stand strong, stand everlong Come fan the flame, brother in name Carry protection wherever you go You are Goron, and you'll never walk alone
I absolutely LOVE how this theme displays Daruk's character- It begins rough and poweful, which is how you would see daruk on the outside. However, underneath those initial looks, he is a genuine and nice guy, who cares a lot about hyrule, and all of his allies, which is revealed by the more sweet and sentimental music that appears afterwards in the theme. What a man.
The entire soundtrack is wrongfully overlooked because there's no "adventurous" overworld theme. It really pisses me off that people call the soundtrack trash for that one reason, when this literally has the best soundtrack in the series.
After doing The Champions Ballad i get so emotional doing Vah Rudania and reading Daruk's diary, i think about the fact that probably Daruk was for Link kind of what Urbosa was for Zelda. They were partners, Daruk considered Link an equal, a brother, even in the last extra memory everyone is gathered in one place while Link and Daruk are in together in other. So when Daruk says "Sorry for not being able to help you defeat Ganon" and then looking at Link's face, i swear i tear up
Ok, after some songs i heared i have to say you are doing an absolute amazing job and i will support you on patreon to help you out. really good job and thank you for being such an awesome guy!
Aaaah everytime I think I’ve made up my mind which champion theme is the best, but let’s be honest, Daruk’s theme tops them all. Especially 1:40 onwards. And then the final time when all the instruments come together gives me goosebumps
Daruk's theme is my favourite song from Zelda BoTW, ans so you can't imagine how did i feel while i was listening to this wonderfull music. I just have one thing to say : thank you
imagine if they put like a special rare voice line that's hard to get in the champions abilities that you hear when they're powered up and they say like "daruk's protection is now ready to roll!" if it were daruk, imagine just wandering through the fields of hyrule and hearing something along the lines of, "little guy! daruk's protection is now ready to use. i'm sorry i can't be there with ya to protect you in person, but mark my words, i'll always be there! maybe not physically, but just remember, don't be ashamed to call upon my power for help! you got this, bud. i'm proud of you for coming so far, so i'm absolutely honoured to fight with you against ganon. take it easy, little guy."
This game screams Ghibli influence, especially yeah Laputa the Castle in the Sky, and Princess Mononoke. The Guardians, the Koroks, the Divine Beasts, the beautiful landscapes, all of this screams Ghibli's work. And that's good.
The Goron companion was very touching. It's the only companion that isn't a brave warrior walking on the steps of the previous champion. The fact that he was able to trust Link and brace himself hard enough to climb Death Mountain with you is amazing, and he is also the only companion that sees the spirit of his people's previous champion. But it's a Goron and Sidon is bromance material so nobody gives a fuck about him.
The rapid tone shift could also be viewed as the music's way of telling Daruk's story. The theme starts as a triumphant and strong tune which abruptly changes into a sort of elegy lamenting the way in which he lost his life so prematurely at the hands of Ganon in spite of it all. Just some food for thought. :)
This is actually true for all of the themes. The piano represents the world (or its decay), and so when it takes over from the instrument that represents the race (Tuba for Gorons, Accordion for Rito, Sitar for Gerudo and Strings for Zora) it shows the death of a mighty race to the ravages of time. This is most evident with Mipha who is the most tragic and therefore has the most piano in her theme. This also goes further with people like Sidon who re-purpose the piano for a more upbeat song, reflecting his optimism.
It's meant to be that way. The first part of each Champion's song represents their race. In this case, it's how bombastic the Gorons are. When it becomes quieter, it's lamenting the death of the character.
