Starts out big and majestic just like how Daruk outwardly looks, then it goes soft and gentle representing how despite his size and strength he's a good guy, and finally the last portion is the painful goodbye he gives as he entrusts you with his remaining power and bids you good luck and farewell. Perfect representation of the Goron Champion.
Revalis diary: I have to perfection my abilities Urbosas diary: Im so worried about Zelda Miphas diary: Something happened with Link. I hope hes okay Daruks diary: *FOOD!* I relate so much to him!
@@Tony_aviation after completing the champions ballad dlc, Revali in the house behind Kaneli, the Rito chief's house, Urbosa's in Riju's house above the throne room, Mipha's in the Zora king's throne room, and Daruk's in Yunobo's house.
He is exactly the kind of character that should have been terrible. But he ended up being really sweet. Whether you took the attack on Vah Rudania as an escort mission or a Guardian Scout slaughterfest, that scene at the end made the whole thing worth it. :,)
I was too, but out of happiness, because I'm a sucker for the lovable loser trope, and Yunobo is such an embodiment of that, his reaction to seeing his hero made me way more happy for a fictional character than I probably should be.
I remember first rescuing Daruk after beating Fireblight Ganon and he was like "Sorry for kicking the bucket in the line of duty" And I was like "Daruk, nooo. It's not your fault, man. ;-;"
Machete Lucius the soundtrack is great, but I just wish there were more and longer tracks. most of the soundtrack isn't very memorable in terms of going back and listening to it (aside from the obvious champion themes, main theme, and rito village)
wow I kinda don't get that, I've been listening to this pretty much nonstop while I work. Even in the game, sometimes I get my horse to run in circles just so I can listen to the "field theme" (both day and night are marvelous) and not get interrupted by enemies. This soundtrack was spot on new and nostalgic at the same time. I can't imagine a better fit for the game...
It's primarily due to more of the areas not having the most memorable or greatest music like take The Goron village area or the Mountain path that led to Rudania the music just kept skipping and playing again the character themes are great but the area themes... Eehhhh
I personally like to believe that if Donkey Kong was one of the 4 Champions, Daruk's Theme would be his theme. And his Divine Beast would have the ability to produce infinite bananas like Vah Ruta can make Water. Also, his Divine Beast would be an Ape and it's name would be Vah Deekay.
If Urbosa is like Zelda's mother figure I'm sure Daruk was Link's big brother figure. I can imagine that big guy laughing loudly and hard, smiling, and even if Link didn't talk much he was glad to be at his side and that he cared enough about him to talk about Zelda too. Now I'm making myself cry
Well said I imagine it like this: Daruk is (as you said) the brother/friend that Link could rely on Mipha was that girl Link knew had a crush on him but wasn't sure if he likes her the same way, but he knows he likes her as a friend Revali was like the annoying friend to Link, who was prideful and jealous, but Link still valued him And Urbosa, to Link I think would be a person for him to go to for wisdom. Kinda like a motherly figure. That's how I look at them, IMO
listen...i SOBBED during daruk’s final cutscene atop rudania...the way he got to see yunobo was incredibly emotional...no other character in the game got that kind of closure
I'm sorry, there is no existing theme for anyone else that has the sheer power that Daruk's theme has. Gorons are the underrated race, they need more love and they're so fuckin' awesome.
TheChildofAuraReborn True! I always loved the Goron. There's just something very charming to them which make me like going around their place. The good memories of past game help too
TheChildofAuraReborn Gorons are great... because they are great. They literally treat all of themselves as brothers, they want to see all of their brothers succeed, no egos, just support.
BoTW is what made me fall in love with our rocky bois. They look like swole gingerbread men and it's SO CUTE! Also, don't get me started on the cute lil children AAAA! OoT's rocky bois are flat cute too. Same with Majora's.
@@jonahkluger6136 most probably his grandson because a 100 years passed after Daruk's death. And Yunobo looks more like a teen than an adult. (Sounds like a teen too)
Many people say how this theme doesn't fit Daruk but I say other wise, Daruk out of all champions beamed with excitement and vigor despite not understanding lots of things, his devotion to protecting hyrule was still strong even if he so said it himself, had to die for the cause. Now imagine he ends up dying but not saving the kingdom with his death, it's awful how could one bear the failure but he kept his head up high even with his concern for the gorons In a way I think this music tells more something hidden in Daruk, he might be the most excitable but I feel he must have taken the biggest blow of all because of his failure but he keeps it away. You also see how he is somber when he looks up to hyrule on the divine beast and speaks of his goron? Than sees Yanubo? Its like a flame in Daruk sparked again to fill him with energy to keep going, to protect hyrule and its people. idk at least its what the song makes me feel...
What? I've never heard of someone saying that Daruk's voice doesn't match. I think it's perfect. I hear "Great work little guy!" Every time I hear this
Everyone says that Daruk’s voice actor doesn’t fit with him, neither does his theme. But I say otherwise. I love this theme, and Daruk is my favorite champion. His voice goes very good with Gorons along with him. I still don’t like Yunobo’s voice, but I still enjoy the voice acting in this game. Especially the gerudos and the gorons. (Which both start with G so... :))
The Gorons are always the best race. The big tough rock dudes who are just so cheerful. This race has something memorable in every game they touch. And Daruk is easily on of them.
"Yeah! I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of controlling this Divine Beast! ...I may not know much about this Calamity Ganon thing, but mark my words. I'll protect this land of ours to the death! Right, little guy!!?"

@@actualatomending spoiler yeah but at the end, rauru and sonia come back in spirit form and channel sonia's time power and rauru's light power through link to use rewind on the princess and on link's hand to give both of them their former shape
It's funny. Death Mountain is easily my least favorite area in BotW, but Daruk is probably my favorite champion just because of his attitude, outlook, and overall demeanor. Reading his diary/journal made that all the more clear.
MrQuinnzard X yea daruk has the best personality and plus he was actually talking bout stuff other then Gannon u dead and that’s coo like at least add some charecter to the well charecter
@@sentinellj While it is more than confirmed that Mipha definitely had something for Link, to the point of making that armor It has also been confirmed that Link just does not see her the same way as she does, this can be seen on her diary (from the Champion's Ballad) Link just didn't feel the same way and didn't have the same closure and connection for him to have open up and actually answered her whether there was something wrong (as stated on her diary) He just took the question with that same emotional silence he has set on himself from his burden and keep looking past her (As stated on her diary aswell)
Hearing this in the Fire Temples music made me want to jump up and down with joy. Daruk is my favorite champion and his theme is the best in my opinion. I just love the strong fanfare at the beginning, basically saying, "Look everybody! Its your Goron Champion, ready to fight for you!" and then it turns to a sweet but almost triumphant part.
I knew the story before playing this game, just finished a few weeks ago. I already knew it was sad, but there's something in playing it that makes you really feel it more. Mipha's longing to see her family and not so hidden feelings for link (he's zeldas, sorry girl), Duruks support and pride in link, Revali's begrudging gratitude and acknowledgement of links skill, and Urbosa's motherly pride, grim acceptance, and hidden heartbreak just made me cry at all their scenes. I love this game so much
I think about my Dad a lot when I hear this. I feel as though it’s an accurate representation of who he was. Tomorrow will be two years since he left this world. Constantly cannot say enough to everyone to love your parents while they are here. Even if you are quarreling with them, make your peace before they are gone and enjoy their company. I have no doubt they think about you even more when you have grown up and moved away. I lost a year and a half of my life because I was young and stupid by holding a grudge against my ole man. Thankful we were able to move past and enjoy the last few years he was here with each other. Thanks for reading!
I think the sound effect at 1:29 really drives this home. Sure, it’s the sound of Link disappearing, but I also feel like it’s the sound of Daruk giving his final goodbyes from the world.
After defeating Fireblight Ganon, when he comes and meets you... holy shit, I got SO teary. The other champions touched me but Daruk's words and him saying hi enthusiastically to Yunobo... oh man, I actually shed a tear :'( hearing his theme makes me all teary again.
Great Job Little guy! I owe you big for this. Because of you, my spirit is finally free. Can't thank you enough! I feel like I should apologize. I was doing all I could to protect Hyrule when that thing got the best of me. Sorry that me resting with the rubble caused such a mess. The good news is, Rudania is now back under our control! That means that our century-old Ganon beat-down plan can finally go into effect! I'm gonna take this down the mountain. I´ll have a better shot at Ganon there. And then, once you've made your way into Hyrule Castle, we're gonna light that thing up! I want to give you something. It's a special power of mine called Daruk's Protection. It's no good to me now that I'm a spirit... but it might be useful for you. Here it comes! From this moment forth, the power of protection, from the depths of my soul, now lives inside you. Good luck, little guy! And give my regards to the princess.
the beauty in breath of the wild's soundtrack isn't just that it sounds nice, its how well it blends into the environment. the music eventually ingrains itself so much into the gameplay that you unconsciously train yourself to recognize the theme of each monster just from the first three notes, the theme of each location just adds to its character, each of the champion's and their successor's themes perfectly reflects the people they once were but with this underlaying sadness to them as they are memories of the past, while their successor's remember the past. and the music doesn't stand alone in bringing this game to life, because the rest of the audio with all the effects and the little varied clinks and clunks from each and every individual interaction with all the items in this game is so intricate and it amazes me every time how much detail was put into these sounds and i can't wait to see where they go with this in the sequel.
Daruk: I want you to have something, it's called Daruk's protection. It no good to me now that I'm a Spirit, but maybe it be some use to you. HERE IT COMES!! (Gives his power to Link) There you have it, the power of protection From the Depths of my Soul, now lives inside you. Oh! And by the way, give my regards to the princess.
He could have been pushed into Death Mountain or just eventually his protection gave in. There is also a chance that he was killed from a sneak attack, similar to how Mipha died.
Yoo I found it. I cried when yunobo looked up and saw Daruk. The thoughts of hyrule regaining hope after what was left from 100 years ago. Also the lines Daruk says. "Well, that's a sight for sore eyes," and then when he sees Yunobo " I guess things have been staying strong,". The sight of him cheering as the spirit smiled back was too much
Dang it, I keep coming back, listening to this, replaying the game, rewatching the cutscenes, and making myself cry. Daruk is the best champion!!! He didn’t deserve to die ;~;
