Yes! This song just portrays the goal that Link is trying to accomplish, the make everything back to how it used to be, peaceful. So beautiful, so many goosebumps!
I stopped everything when I first walked into Rito Village. I was not expecting this callback, but it was so beautiful. I just had to stop and admire this theme.
I prefer 1.5 speed myself. still up beat but retains some of it's relaxing tones, like shifting from blue to green. makes the audio a bit glitch though.
I just finished the game after over a year and 150+ hours. I'm kind of sad because I want to live inside that world for a little bit longer, do you know what I mean?
Keep playing it! It's an amazing game and I feel like, even if you fight the same monsters, go back to the same areas, or traverse the same terrain, you can do it in so many subtly different ways, and encounters will almost always have slightly different ways things play out. Nothing says you have to stop playing it. ( unless of course you want to )
I love this picture. Speaks a lot for the game as a whole. You explore every new landscape before you, having your sights set on what lies immediately ahead. But Ganon's terror lies relentlessly in the back of your mind. Stand at any high point at any corner of the map, and you might just be able to see the castle in the distance. With each blood moon you are reminded of the cause. So you seek to surmount the highest hurdles knowing the kiss of death lies at the core of your journey.
"The volcanic home of our feathered ancestors has long since faded into the earth and seas.. Yet an old tune still dances at the tips of our beaks." The rhyme was totally unintentional
I'm still wondering if Ritos in both Wind Waker and BotW are mammals or birds... The ones in Wind Waker are probably more mammal, because they can change their wings into human hands, and they have to get a scale from Valoo in order to fly. the Ritos in BotW just fly on their own, and they're bird from head to toe, except they're really intelligent and stand up.
"The flow of time is always cruel... its speed seems different for each person, but no one can change it... A thing that does not change with time is a memory of younger days..." Wind Waker came out 18 years ago. I remember playing it when I was young(er). Yet, still it feels like it was just days ago.
I play clarinet and the Rito themes are so much fun to play. That includes this, Revali's theme, everything Kass did, etc. Most of the music isn't very difficult and is incredibly fun to play and destress to. ;)
I got married, and my wife walked down the aisle to this exact song. To this day, I still can't get over just how beautiful this song is and what it means to me personally. Still makes me cry to listen to it.
I haven't had a 'holy shit' experience playing a game in a long time until now. Everything about the song gave me huge Miyazaki vibes and I just felt so empty all of a sudden.
I was wondering why this sounded so familiar considering I never played BoTW but then I remembered my times playing wind waker. Memories suck man, especially the ones that hurt the most, but they're there for a reason. They are there to remind you of much simpler times that you used to have. Times that were special to you and remain special to this very day. Whether it be some simple minded game that you used to play and grew fond of, or maybe it's something more than just that, something more powerful. Either way, those memories are there to stay forever, maybe you should go pick up that gamecube controller and finish ocarina of time, or complete that house in minecraft that you had all the plans for but never got to it. Just take time to relive the past and enjoy yourself one last time. Love yourself because if you don't I will.
I remember my first time playing, looking out over hyrule to the north to see medoh from the shrine of resurrection. I couldn’t tell what it was, so I used my Sheikah slate and pinned it. I was in awe at how big the world was and it was just waiting to be explored.
The first time I arrived to Rito Village was at night. Finally having reached it after so much travelling, running up the stairs looking for the shrine while this wonderful music played, it all felt really magical. From the glimpses of the village I managed to catch in the dim light, and guessing the day theme would be an even better version of the night one, I could already tell I was going to love that place, and I couldn't wait for when the sun would rise again and I'd get to admire it in all its glory.
a few years back i was having a pretty bad panic attack. i turned my switch on, and it opened to breath of the wild. i was in rito village, the wind was rushing and the rain was falling, and this song was playing. it calmed me down immediately. this game and this song bring me a level of peace and comfort that is not matched by many things in this world. love this game and its beautiful soundtrack. :)
You can always tell that Nintendo was the one that revived video gaming with all the impressions they continue to make to this day. The music is so professional and perfect alone; music like this track is just one example of the very, very many.
I love how the music is not virtually conducted unlike many other games, so you can faintly hear small details, like the brief breathing of the flute player. ❤
This song makes me want to cry. It's so beautiful, and brings me back to happier times with my grandpa before he tragically passed away unexpectedly two years ago.
I had to take a 20 minute break when i heard that song for the first time. i played wind waker basically every day after school for years and they do this to me
coming back to rito village in tears of the kingdom was such a gut punch. not having the rito village theme was such a good touch to immediately let us know that something is very wrong. ugh i love these games
This song must be one of most soothing songs for me, it just makes me feel at home and that everything is gonna be alright... I don't know what it is about it, but I absolutely love it
yeah it is like at 0:48 the first 2 or 3 notes are the same as in the Kiki's Delivery Service - Umi no Mieru Machi at around 15 seconds, then its like the main theme in Castle in the Sky
Idk why but in games like BOTW and Genshin I always find myself loving the night themes way more.. There's just something so soothing about them, makes me wanna take a nap on a soft bed of leaves....
is music in genshin really that good? I've played sumeru and I swear most of the lyre songs in the aranara quest sound like the start of this. I've never really listened to any music that led me to search online for it compared to other games like Zelda or FF
its because the key of the night theme is one half step below, and in music when 2 notes are played only separated by a half step, they just dont fit and give this uncomfortable feeling. Sorry, im a music theory nerd
Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity Minor Spoiler Warning //// When Revali said "I think the wind may finally be at our backs," it was such a minor line, but it still made me happy because it reminded of a similar line used in Wind Waker... Wind Waker was the first game I played that made me realize that video games were a form of art that could impact people in such positive ways. Any reference to Wind Waker in the Breath of the Wild games makes me tear up now including this song. I can't describe the pure joy I felt when Nintendo revealed the Rito and Koroks were in BOTW. Thank you for everything Nintendo.
I lie here in my bed on January 29th with the outside temp a cool 50 degrees perfectly mimicking a cool summer evening. I decided to listen to this as I felt a sense of nostalgia for the summer of 2020 when I started playing this game and got obsessed with this game even watching my mom play till the early hours of the next day.I love this game.
I remember whem I first heard this song, my mom was still alive, my father loved me, gramdma whitout dementia and my kidneys where functioning properly, now everything seems so grim but this song is still very biutiful and really brings tears to my eyes.
Hang in there Jeremy. If you believe in God, he has a plan, we might not get it at first... don't try. If you don't then find a lesson for everything, it's all about growth. Blessings.
Thank you for uploading! When I first heard this song and the day song from Rito village I stopped and almost cried. I couldn't believe it, Windwaker! Such good memories of my childhood just rushed in, I miss those times. Thank you Nintendo for including this, I love loz.
No it is the Dragon Roost theme slowed down. Dragon Roost is original but this is hardly. Still absolutely love it and actually prefer it to Dragon Roost theme.
The part right before the Dragon Roost Island part sounds very Twilight Princessy...its like a part of the staff roll....when I first heard it i was expecting the staff roll
Hearing this fills me with such a bittersweet feeling, I remember playing wind waker as a child and getting to dragon roost, Hearing the music for the first time while playing with my little brother and both of us just loving it, I didnt even know what i was doing in the game I just knew i loved it. I never noticed the song in Rito the first time I played breath of the wild but if i did i know i would have balled my eyes out. I dont get the feeling of nostalgia from most songs but this one hits home, I would give anything to experience those moments again but since I cant i guess thats what makes them so special. I cant wait to have kids and watch them play these games and create the same amazing memories i hold so dearly.
It's 9:34am. I'm in my bed, after getting home from my early morning job, and I'm crying. I'm crying because I'm tired. I'm crying because this is beautiful.
0:48 when i first played botw and got rito village, when i heard this part of the song i got a head to toe chill, i had to stop there for a good 15 minutes just listening to the music, i thought of all the wonderful memories of my time playing wind waker, i have a fondness to the night time theme especially, the piano and acoustic guitar played together just sounds heavenly, i would be lying if i said i haven't fallen asleep to this song before, whoever thought of putting this theme in the game, give them a raise
Rito Village. So blissful 🎶 Day and Night. It doesn’t matter. I love all the tracks in BOTW but this one always hits me. The vibe feels like home. Beautiful scenery Kind villagers Rito children playing and laughing Offering to defeat a giant mechanical Divine Bird in the sky. It’s great. Lol My favorite village thus far I always come here just to take a break and relax and chill to the music 😊 Hope it’s in BOTW2 !
I played Wind Waker (Wii U version) 5 years ago in 3rd grade Arriving in Rito Village just today, was an immediate throw back of Dragon Roost Island (I shouldn't have dropped this game for those 2-3 years that I've played it man)
At normal speed, Dragon Roost Island's theme is a refreshing tune, betraying a sense of summer. Slowed down? It's a somber tune. You'll find yourself wiping away a tear and wondering why it was there.
Genuinely one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard. Listened to this so many times, and learned it on piano. There really is nothing like video game music.
