My dashcam suction mount was falling in hot weather. The fix is to flatten the plastic suction disk with a heat gun. Now it sticks better than new

Thank you..It worked for me.Used Rubbing alcohol instead of soap water.. Dabbled the rubber mount in boiling water for a few secs..

if you don't have a heat gun, place it in 1/4 inch of boiling water (I put boiling water in a coffee mug). Does the same thing. Liquid transfers heat better than air. And it's easy. No special tools!

I just made up a bracket with a thin piece of aluminium mounted to the screws that the mirror is mounted to make a bend or two,drill some holes your done, dashcam will never fall down.

The plastic returns to it's original molded state. No need to touch the plastic.

@@frankenfoamy Many Thanks. I have one that was damaged in transit and bent over more than at right angles. Be interesting to see if it goes flat by itself again or whether I have to form it somehow.
