Congratulations to the New Jersey State Trooper who was driving an old Ford Crown Victoria who blew past all of the vehicles while driving on the right shoulder at 120+MPH (at 6:51in the video) and got far enough ahead to block all of the traffic in every lane which resulted in the end of the pursuit and safe capture of the suspect without any injuries to people or property. He was a very wise and smart Trooper.
Lol fr def not from jersey. Tryna figure out where this is cuz where im from (essex/passaic) I can't get to 25mph w/o hitting traffic...even at 1am on a sunday
In my Nissan Leaf, it'd be really brief. Since drag is affected by the square of velocity, range would suffer unless you drove the speed limit and used regenerative braking. :) It's got plenty of pep, but your mileage goes down if you put your foot in it. I guess if I wake up and decide to run from the cops, I will have to drive my New Beetlee.
Lol, are you brain damaged? The cop should have his ass handed to him, nothing is worth risking the lives of innocent bystanders, and he had a million chances to spin the guy out, took zero, could have hit him in the rear tire on the off ramp when he started to spin out, likely disabling the vehicle, missed that opportunity. He must have been afraid of scratching his car. Man, if that's your idea of a good job, please never become a cop.
what do you mean he could drive? that guy was going tops 100mph I don't even know wtf he was doing "running" from the cops at that speed. He was clearly an inexpierienced driver. He got pulled over and that was that. Not a single good driver in this clip.
@@kgbeezr75 seriously ,,,your black ..haha i can tell and seriously you cant take a car out just by crashing into it ..not at them speeds ..oyeah defend the black guy in the car ,,haha ,,even you know its a black guy
It's nothing short of a miracle that no one was killed, especially when the P.O.S. crossed to the other side of the road. He should be charged with multiple counts of attempted murder! Sadly, he'll likely get off with a relatively light sentence...relative to what I think he deserves given his absolute recklessness.
@@alwaysOPEN4business Sad to say, it's true. In Washington DC violent felons are back on the street in no time to repeat offend. Soft cushion for them.
@@bmacd2112 Yeah right hell the rightwing right now is tring to ger 9/11 type terrorists out of jail because they are tRump supporters. Not sure how that can be when you lie and say they are ANTIFA so you should be happey they are in jail and one was killed right?
Against a fast car like my Stingray, either cars are any match in a pursuit situation. In Canada a fast car only worries about helicopters or some cities which use Mustangs and Camaros as interceptors it can get dicey, but here, they call off the chase when you endanger the public so any fast car can beat them.
Well technically it's a "police interceptor " a high performance crown vic, body on frame beefed up engine and some other features. Definitely not stock
@@Jack-jq5nx lol, if it was a Maserati I'm sure the police would have issues keeping up with the car. Then that's when the chopper would be called out for that one.
Real time high speed pursuits of stolen or carjacked vehicles or other serious and violent criminals caught on the South African NoJack Anti-Hijacking Unit dash cams. Visit their channel at ru-vid.com
That was some kick ass driving by the pursuing officer. There was one point where the suspect took a hard right on the exit that would have been the perfect time for a pit. But great job.
Steven - I may be wrong re NJ but in many states a PIT has to be authorized via radio. I never heard any such transmission. Again, it may not be a nationwide policy.
Dampf Nudel I obviously can't read his mind, but by saying long chase I imagine he's talking in terms of RU-vid (where almost nobody would watch a 2 hour chase) videos. 9 minutes is a long time to spend watching a car chase, especially when you don't even get to see the arrest or crash had it ended that way. Something that, because the cops knew what they were doing by waiting for a safe opportunity to box the guy in, seems to have been pretty non eventful.
6:49 When The State Trooper does 150mph on the shoulder is to do one thing ! get at least a mile ahead and to swerve back and forth lane to lane to slow the traffic down.. I have seen it many times !! use congestion to block them in... Conboy rides with his Brass Balls in the trunk of that Trooper Car.. Precision ! !! I drive atleast 54,000K on those roads a year I have seen many of chases. Good going !!
The cops have all the chances to do a pit maneuver & they didn't do it. This video should only last 4 minutes not 9. A bad decision by the cop's superintend endanger the lives of other people.
@@ravenbonanza1522 wrong. the thug fleeing police endangered the lives of other people. The cop stayed behind the thug's car the entire time, meaning that the thug would hit anyone before the cop would. Aka 0% chance of the cop hurting anyone.
@@ravenbonanza1522even tho they wanna catch them, they need confirmation from dispatch,a clear road,to be right up close. But they still wanna be safe,he could break check them he could stop and pull out a gun,you never know so just be happy he was stopped ALIVE buddy
Or maybe because the cops started buying those dodge charger thingys and the Taurus cost a lot for less performance because its a premium sedan, not a big v8 that can accelerate
and chasing him thru oncoming traffic!! WTF IS WRONG WITH THE NJ POLICE. literally trying to get another bystanderd killed. should have backed off the guy and the let the Chopper follow the car.
+noel oreilly I guess if hurting someone's feeling is the way to save an innocent life by preventing an officer going the same speed as the suspect towards oncoming traffic, I don't mknf
+GodKing804 Yea, blame the cops. You said nothing of the guy who actually was putting lives in danger. I guess he gets a pass in your mind. Not his fault right?
That’s a rookie move. Why would you get on the NJTP? There’s literally 20 miles between exits and they can easily block you in. They need a better getaway driver.
@@floormop6672 na best way to do it is get arrested n then cally lawyer who will pay off the prosecutors office to get a slap on the wrist probation. Lawyer super expensive but if you sell drugs, you should have that put away and a lawyer on retainer. This works 100% ive been arrested 12 times. 31 misdemeanor charges. 6 felony charges. Ended up convicted of 0 felonies and spent a total of 11 months in jail over 20 years. That's less time than just 1 evading charge (2 years). Be smart. Fight it in court. Will cost $$$ but freedom aint free
6:57 the white car in the right lane starts drifting over after the Crown Vic passes him doing like 130mph on the right, and almost drifts into Conboy.
You got to give it up to the police. Everyday I'm pretty sure they think this could be my last. They have a lot of heart to go after these criminals knowing that they can be some casualties.I know a lot of police can be assholes but they are dealing with assholes everyday. God bless them cause they have families to peace.
@@lulolee5325 1) The only people who run are either criminals or stupid (most often both). 2) Running from or failing to stop is a crime in every state, thus he became a criminal as soon as he hit the gas, idiot.
@@brothergrimm9656 Poor Lulo Lee has never studied a single law in his life. Probably wouldn't know his Miranda rights if he was read them lol. It's clear he became a criminal as soon as he evaded.
For the record, no. Most people who are "being chased" would pull over immediately. The more you evade, the bigger the list of felonies. A short list of some you might be convicted of if you continue and don't pull over is: evading, reckless driving, speeding, failure to yield, failure to stop at a red light/stop sign, and depending on your situation many more.
Some fantastic driving by the officers in this video! What truly astounds me, though, no matter how many of these pursuit videos I watch, are the imbeciles who put along, never seeming to clue in to lights and sirens and what's going on around them. Wake up and move the eff over, people!
I know, man, they're total idiots. They should have a department for the city that's reviews every chase. If you don't move over for lights and sirens, they run your license plate and send you a big, fat ticket.
Very, VERY self important folks out there, wouldn't it change their self important ways if the police were allowed to pit them if they didn't get out of the way/pull over...lol
vahid babazadeh it's called a traffic break. Cop will swerve back and forth across all Lanes just slow them down till he can stop them. Sometimes they just slow the traffic down so another officer ahead can pick up something off the road, or if there is an accident or such ahead.
Dumbass Drivers Of Denver - I've seen them doing this on I-70 going snowboarding from Denver. They do it to break up traffic and I think I remember them doing it to slow traffic down in bad weather.
These are the guys who keep our highways safe. Great video and shows how they have to think on their feet while trying to keep people safe during a chase like this. Thank you men and women in blue. Well done.
To all the Brothers and Sisters of these police departments who chased and caught this guy hats off to you and thank you!! you are simply one a kind who do this stuff day in and day out!! THANK YOU
If I had to guess, a large amount of drugs. If he can get away, even for a few minutes, he can stash it, claim he wasn’t driving etc. If he has a large amount of crack 15-20 years. Might make a man run. Don’t do drugs people.
Whatever that officer makes should be doubled. What skillful driving and dedication and courage. We must pass laws that are so severe for fleeing that these people will think twice before running from the police. Maybe an attempted murder charge or something?
Many attempted murder charges, Estimate how many vehicles were in harms way, double them, then charge accordingly. Thats what would make people think again. But then again, that wont stop these kinds of morons to try anyway
I dedicate this comment to all the Police and Sheriff Departments and to all officers of all colors and ethnicities, made today during a terrible time for our men and women who serve. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE and MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL as we move forward to heal. Let us help one another help each other, and the only way we can do that is I ask this in Jesus name, the Name above all names. Amen.
Hell of a job on the driving! The officer whose dash cam we were viewing was on point, no matter what move the suspect made... the cop was right on him.
Brave cop to follow him into oncoming traffic. That's dangerous as hell. Although even more dangerous for the car he's chasing and everyone else on the roadway.
At 1:57 the pursuing officer could have just plowed into the back of his car during his turn on the highway ramp. It was at a moment of low speed and no other traffic around. Too bad.
Fleeing and eluding should be a ten year felony and going wrong way on a freeway like he did? Attempted Murder....15 year felony and the sentences stack up!
+Nik Brudar Its not that the dashcam can't record in higher quality... its that 360p takes up less memory space so then they can record more footage... it just makes sense... if 360p works just as well as 1080 or 720 then why not use 360...
these cameras are needed for 8-12 hours of continuous recording per shft, after every shift they are uploaded via secure internet to the MDC, then to the precinct / station archives. Sound is only activated when the emergency lights are activated. Let that sink in, EIGHT TO TWELVE HOURS of CONTINUOUS RECORDING!
@@drakelar1957 An inanimate object, who cares. Besides i drive a big ole 4 wheel drive. pinned him in? i could have rolled right over him and pinned him down 😂
I would enjoy seeing the view of the capture from some of the other dashcams in the patrol cars. Even without other views, this was one hell of a dangerous chase, for ALL. The troopers knew their goals and set into motion a well orchestrated high speed high stakes pursuit that ended with their targeted goal achieved. GOAL=A clean capture where No Officers or Citizens will be killed or harmed, during this intense situation. GREAT JOB!
you would think you'll get off the highway knowing you have state troopers on knowing there gonna block the road once you hit a long str8 causing traffic
The first few minutes of this were absolutely nuts. Could not count how many drivers reacted in a split-second to avoid head-on collision. Kinda wonder if that cop got into hot water by following him wrong way, There was no he could have avoided being part of any wreck there. Never expected for this to end without crash or bloodshed. Props!
I give the Highway Patrol a lot of credit for getting in front of this and making an effort to protect the public, but they did have many opportunities to pit the guy.
would you not need more than one police cruiser on a multi lane superhighway like the NJ Tpke to effect a traffic slowdown/standstill? this part of the tpke is 4 lanes...need at least 2 to straddle 2 lanes a piece? honest question
@@flyingtiger2212 - That was the 18W toll plaza. All he had to do is get beyond the toll barrier. He might have radioed the Turnpike Authority to shut down the barrier.
You guys need to stop ranting an simply get with life. This pursuit would have ended badly if it wasn't for the dumb skill of a murderer and a trained officer. I give credit where credit is due, however there are plenty of things that were dangerous and above all outrageous. In the end, the guy killed his GF and he had to go down. Either leaving the scene in the back of a car or a coroner's van. Props to the officers and a kick in the ass for the suspect. Great pursuit though, seemed like movie material.
@benzguylv So you went to the police academy. You took evasive driving courses, and were taught the rules of engagement on a pursuit. You know all of what was going on outside the cameras point of view. Right? And if that move you suggested would have put an innocent motorist in danger that's cool, right? I'm sure NJs Finest will take your statement under advisement.....NOT!
+Tim oh INCORRECT. This may set things straight for you: "Ramming a vehicle is considered deadly force and banned by most police departments. The PIT is a precision maneuver that requires substantial training. When done correctly, very little damage will be done to the vehicle and the officer and suspect will have no injuries." source: Senior Traffic Safety Officers Policeone.com, Worlds Wildest Chases (lol) had to add that. Needless to say, the PIT is illegal in New Jersey. And shamefully so because it can end a pursuit which IS deadly that can save innocent lives.
6:49 Trooper got them pipes hot on that troop car. If it wasn’t for the black dragons, that pursuit would’ve never stopped. Thank god the suspect didn’t get in the troopers hands. Badass
This is my old stomping ground. The fool got on the Turnpike. What was he expecting to happen when he got to the tolls? Just wish we could have seen the take-down.
I think the Jersey cops need to learn the PIT maneuver. This shit show could have been over on the very first exit ramp. NO ONES life had to be endangered.
That's what I said but they have to keep the other innocents in mind...like I said I would have taken him out when that truck {police came from right} I would have slammed my unit right into him and the guardrail, This is new training procedures to stop felons without damage. Basically damage control.
to attorney general guidelines in jersey that you can only follow, no pit maneuvers, no boxing in, basically just follow until they run out of gas, crash, or give up
+Mr. White Well Jersey is alot smaller and probably has twice the population so those kinds of actions are unsafe. Not all of us live in crusty inbreadland
not at all most police departmetns should back off and let a chopper take over. Its safer that way and then they cna blame the suspect for any crashes they cause and not the pursuing officers.
God bless our men and women in blue who risk their lives every day to protect us from those who only want to do what is right in their own eyes! Thank you so much!
