Thank you all so much for the support! This has been one of my best performing videos ever! I tried out some different stuff for the background footage in this video as well to give it a more cinematic feel haha. Lemme know how it felt, especially how it was rendered in ultrawide! Honestly I watched you from Pyromancer reacting to this. For WHATEVER reason. Maybe its his sound, yours, youtube shitty audio distortion. But your voice was REALLY hard to hear and listen too (id recommend watching his video and seeing what I mean). It would be nicer if you could "speak louder and clearer" but im not sure what that means in context... ANYWAY amazing video and I truly agree with you. Since day one of the travel system I felt like it was the worst mistake Square ever produced and still do. It RUINED Crystal as a roleplay server, and destroyed communities COMPLETELY. Granted, dont think it can go away VERY SADLY. But if they could make it so how you said; made the party finder cross data centered it would fix all the issues. But not only that, but we DESPERATELY need a "word" filter option for both Shout chat, AND party finder. Not just because of "Ads" but SIMPLY for everything. Tired of seeing "selling feet pics add me on discord" ....

A unified party finder is definitely a step in the right direction, but it a unified duty finder that we really need. Especially on Dynamis.

I was actually in a WoD run through PF on Dynamis last week! One of my FC needed it for their story, and it was probably about a 15-20 min wait to get folks together... and a lot of shouts in major cities... but we managed to pull it off! Would I want to have to go through that for every alliance raid? Please, god, no. But at least Dynamis can say we CAN do it. =p

Servers are listed as New if they still haven't reached their population goals. The new European servers didn't keep their new status compared to the ones on Dynamis. Worst is the Oceania data centers, those were opened in Jan 2022 and they still have their new status.

As long as it's only on Party Finder honestly. As a guy who moved from Primal to Elemental (due to me needing to move to JP for work), the culture crash might cause a ton of problems due to how vastly differently both DCs tackles content. Took me quite a while to adjust to how Elemental does things considering I was in Primal from ARR- early ShB.

Yeah they aid they're being really cautious about the idea of anything cross-region for now but hopefully it doesn't limit anything cross-dc because we need to give PF new life haha

Maybe you can speak for yourself and I can speak for myself, but you have to remember that neither of us can speak for everyone else, outside of those you know and are familiar with. Certain social norms for westerners aren't the same for people in the east and vice versa. But not everyone will follow said norms.

There's a bit of history missing here that helps explain why Aether got its reputation for being the big raiding DC. From what I understand, Primal actually used to be the big raiding DC during ARR and early HW. When the Alexander Savages released, though, they were a huge step up in difficulty from what most players were used to. A3S and A4S in particular were very mechanically intensive for the time and had very tight DPS checks in the early weeks, to the point that most statics didn't even clear the tier Week 1 due to a lack of gear. I'm a bit hazy on the specifics since I took a break from playing the game around this time, but apparently a -lot- of statics fell apart this time and the sheer amount of bad blood between players on Primal drove an exodus to Aether to escape the supposedly bad playerbase on Primal. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong or leaving out details. Unfortunately, veteran big name players like Arthars still carry that grudge against Primal. He used to talk about how "bad" Primal PF was on stream all the time, and his viewerbase ate it up. Which is funny, because until last year or so, Primal was generally seen as the DC to go to if you wanted to PF Ultimates (UCoB being Primal's specialty). While Arthars ranting about Primal isn't what killed Primal's raiding population alone, it certainly didn't help. There are other factors involved, too; as more players began traveling to Aether due to the larger playerbase, even the big Primal names started joining their friends over there too. Barse parties shifted to Aether as well. After all, if you can't beat them, why not join them?

This is actually an awesome history lesson since I wasn’t an active player back then. Really interesting to hear how Alexander was the catalyst since I do remember hearing about how brutal it was at the time. Definitely makes sense too that people would transfer for what is most important to them. It is ironic that primal was the place for Ultimates after this haha

Moreso I believe that Gilgamesh was where all the “big” Raider streamers tended to be, so when Greg opened up for character creation it was a mad dash to get in before they closed it again Now I’m no authority on this at all since I started with the 6.0 launch, but that’s what I understand from people that were around then

There's a little more to it than that. To add additional context: Primal is a Legacy Data Center. What this means is that all the 1.0 Players were actually placed in Primal because almost if not all of the Legacy servers were Primal to begin with. This is kind of important because a lot of Legacy FC's tried to create a very WoW-like structure in that raids had to be done with your FC. This in itself caused a lot of dissatisfaction with some of the raiders back then which caused them to search out better opportunities. It's how a lot of them eventually ended up on Gilgamesh, because it was the "promised land" like how Aether is now. During late ARR and early Heavensward, Gilgamesh was known as the Raider server on Primal. Balmung too, was originally a Primal server. This is why Primal has a little bit of both RP/Social and Raider communities. The biggest 2 were originally Primal. When Crystal and Aether opened up and the servers got shuffled, Gilgamesh was removed from Primal and put in Aether and Balmung was moved to Crystal at some point. This did not help Primal in the slightest in that the majority of the really strong and skilled raiders just basically got hard removed from the culture of Primal. In all honesty, Aether's raiding culture is basically Gilgamesh and what ever was left of Balmung went to Faerie which they eventually came to their own with their own culture. This doesn't mean that Primal is worst to raid on, it just means that the skill cap of the culture got diminished greatly. I would even argue that the effects of that can still be felt since that happened. The thing that I want to really call out here is that players would not flock to Aether if raiding on your own Data Center was fine. The hard truth of the matter is it was never fine and it hadn't been fine in a very long time. Could you do it before Data Center Travel? Absolutely. But that doesn't mean it was good. All Data Center Travel did was highlight the problem that people failed to acknowledge nearly a decade ago.

@@FessyDKnightFrom a pf perspective, raiding on primal and raiding on aether were basically the same. The quality of players did not improve any time I jumped servers before this current tier. In the past it may have been that way, but from my experience of raiding in SHB to now, the only difference was strat variation. What caused the mass exodus this tier was a compounding problem. A ton of people were encouraging going to Aether to raid this tier, a lot more than in previous tiers. Week 1 was going well on primal, p9s and p10s clears had a healthy number of players, but p11s is where the problems started. It took hours to fill, if it even would. People in the pfs would talk about how "we should just hop to aether, there are more players there". As those players left for aether, any time someone cleared p10, they would be faced with the same problem. This got worse as the weeks went on to the point we're at now. DCT didn't expose a fault that always existed, it enabled the community's perception of aether as the raiding DC to become a reality.

DC Travel pretty much killed Island Sanctuary for me, as I loved to just randomly gather things and chill while waiting for PF to fill. Now that I have to camp in Aether for everything, I'm not even bothering returning to Crystal just to take care of my crops. Culture mixing is already happening and there's no going back from this, I can only hope cross DC PF will be implemented soon already.

If it werent for my fc house and its 4 max level subs I wouldve made the switch to aether a long time ago, its sad, I miss pre data center travel pf in crystal, I was able to clear tier 1 just fine

I think limiting the Road to 80 buff to being on a Dynamis sever for new and transferred characters may help things.

Personally, I like DCT being in the game. All that comes with itjust needs adapting. Feels to me more like a debate over what's better: a close knit town or a big wide city. Element of not knowing about Discord always been there, just with local DC Worlds when it comes to Hunts and FATEs. Cross-DC would be nice. On personal wish, I'd want to be able to join FCs from other worlds or even DCs, but it's unlikely to happen.

I moved to Dynamis when it dropped for Housing and to get a fresh start. I think a 6 month "pause" on DC travel would have helped a ton for our DC in the long run, mainly to establish a market/economy and stabilize the queue times. That being said Dynamis' B-Day is coming up and the community is still there its just very slow growing. I know that new people are being funneled into Dynamis worlds because you see a lot of new sprouts (not alts) actually out doing content/leveling/etc. Fingers crossed that SE comes up with a solution before Dawntrail!

I've been so frustrated with this and have been trying to put up PFs on Dynamis as much as I can. I do think that the influx of Xbox players will probably help, and the influx of players who jump into the game during Dawntrail. But it's still going to take a good while, and our DC won't have a community unless we actively work to make it have one.

@Sonicrida I'd rather it not. While I agree that Dynamis needs more people, it is a very nice community, but my experience with many Xbox players has been particularly unpleasant. I do not wish for that behavior to bleed over to the rest of the data center.

I actually transferred from dynamis to crystal because the queue times were just so bad. Queuing for dailies as tank took 10+ minutes, my fc completely died out, and not being able to use timed nodes and access the marketboard was really annoying as a gatherer so i had no reason to stay other than the exp bonus

Yeah if you do any crafting or gathering with the marketboard, DC travel is extra punishing.... What you went through is the exact experience I worry about for Dynamis players. Sucks to go through that

As a Crystal raider with a static, I hate what happened with Aether. It essentially killed any hoped of pugging any content on my home DC. And whenever we need to find a replacement for a night because of irl issues, we either spend 1-2 hours of our 3 hour raid window waiting and hoping someone joins on Crystal, or all of us have to DC travel to Aether (Where we inevitably find a Crystal player who DC traveled over). And I can't even get a decent cat farm going because nobody wants to do that on Crystal. It's maddening.

Gotta disagree on your example of Dynamis. While Dynamis residents can dc hop, not all do and the people that don't suffer from even worse queue times. For example, after a certain point at night queueing for expert roulettes becomes impossible on all roles because of this. Some people see long queue then leave, making the queue longer for everyone else. This also makes it a lot harder to even know who is on your data center since they are gone 80% of the time. It also makes the new player experience pretty terrible since many don't know they can dc travel. Just the other day I met someone that told me that they had been hard stuck on the crystal raid series because they couldn't get the queue to fill. Alliance raids don't fill on dynamis queues. I taught them how to server travel after that but there must be many more that have the same issue and just give up. A solution would be to take away the ability to run daily roulettes on different data centers, but still all other forms of party content

That's actually a smart solution, limiting daily roulettes to your home DC. As a sidenote, I was visiting someone in Seraph recently and tuned into their novice network while I was there. I don't know if this is an everyday thing, but they were doing the MOST to get queues filled for people. Just queueing up for literally anything that got brought into the chat. I thought that was awesome, but definitely not enough to solve the problem.

Yeah I think we're actually more or less in agreement other than one part. My concern is without DC travel, even if you forced dynamis players to queue on dynamis, they'd probably have a rough time due to low population numbers in general. Roulettes might've been better off......but I'd be worried about the PF scene honestly And yeah, you 100% nailed it because new players not knowing how and that they *need* to DC travel is a huge issue even for Crystal and Primal. Unless you know about it because you have friends that told you or read about it somewhere, you are going to think that the PF scene in this game is small. And yeah, that'd be an interesting way to handle it but it would probably cause different problems and maybe force people who do roulettes for tomes into doing hunt trains instead. I wonder how that would work out.

I don't think preventing people from *playing* Duty Roulette outside of their home DC is feasible, because it also prevent you helping friends while you are traveling to their DC. I think we need to fine tune it a bit more, and prevent people from *earning* the daily reward from Duty Roulette while not at your home DC. You can still queue while traveling, but if you want the juicy XP and tomestones, you need to play at home.

Dynamis has 4 kinds of people and then there's the few who do really defy Dynamis logic. 1) People who tried to buy a house. Self explanatory really. Really beneficial for those who are trying to make their own venues or for FC workshop slaves who just sit there and earn gil. 2) Brand new players who were promised a new island but are essentially stuck because they don't know how to navigate and cross the bridge to the city. 3) Veterans who know the ins and outs of how to use the EXP bonus to it's maximum. 4) Society outcasts. DC travel only really hurts Dynamis as an island, but if Dynamis was like Materia in the sense that it's fully isolated then it could very well have a worse reputation than even now.

@@Sonicrida Dynamis. I'm player type 1 and 3. I try to keep the bulk of the Dynamis community at arm's length, though there were and are some real people trying to create infrastructures and communities for the broader Dynamis playerbase. Some of them are genuine peoples who are trying their best but their target demographic are players who may have had issues with their previous communities and have essentially been exiled to Dynamis and those who play independently trying to look for a home of sorts. An example of one is Dynamis' "Phoenix Down Project". A community set up with trying to breathe life into Dynamis' dead Duty Finder and Party Finder only around 3 months after Dynamis came into existence. They're trying their best out there but it can only do so much.

I feel this. The FC that I am part of has pretty much fallen apart and is nearly dead now because so many of our members left so they could move to Aether, not just visit it. It takes longer than ever to queue even for just regular content some nights, and there are certain days when it's nearly impossible to even get a mog tome run going through party finder. Famfrit used to be full of players, now it's population is so much smaller.

You mentioned the inability to access retainers and gathering timed nodes. This is the biggest frustration for me. I went from farming EX trial mounts very well and wanting to help because the fights are fun to only having a few mounts and only a few clears because there are not many learning/farm parties on Primal when I'm available to play. I'm a big market board player and baby sitting my retainers and finding something to do on PF was a large part of my gameplay. I certainly feel everyone with the same interests as I do for the game all hang out in Aether now. I'm not giving up my housing to move.

What's even worse is that Primal and Crystal had significantly friendlier and more patient players. Crystal more so to its own detriment would basically not disband a party unless somebody had to go because of time, or they used that as a friendly excuse. Aether these days? I've literally watched dudes sit for 3 hours to fill party, only to disband after 30m even when SEEING ENRAGE only to call the rest of the party a bunch of "hector babies" and then go put up another party that takes now 4 hours to fill.

primal was always like that dude i dont know what are you talking about. i play since stormblood and its the usual "pf experience" to just disband after 3 pulls and the toxicity is just part of pf it has nothing to do with which datacenter you are from.

@@ravindrarambarran6177this was my experience as well when DC travel first came out. I was testing the waters in Primal and Aether, and Primal PF players were so impatient. I had a much better experience PFing in Crystal, especially week 1. Maybe it's the fact that blacklisting was more effective because it removed a slightly larger percentage of players from my PF's lol

As someone from Maduin of Dynamis, I had primarily used DC travel to buy stuff that was either not available on the market board, or was being sold for several more zeroes than it was actually worth. With the current moogle tomestone event going on now though... I pretty much live out of Adamantoise of Aether now to get PVP queues that actually pop. Waiting for less than 2 minutes before a match begins is far better than waiting for 2+ hours only for a match to never materialize.

I played in Aether when I started, was on Siren for most of my time there. Transferred to 1 sever but left the next chance I got because I didn't make any friends and the quality of life for myself was improving there to I hopped to Crystal, made some friends but then they quit or left server (before cross server was a thing) then I took my longest break of just over a year, came back then transferred to dynamis because the low population, I like smaller communities just to find this issue with cross data center basically making impossible to form a group of friends like the good old days b4 StB came out, the population boom of StB was the downfall of small communities imo and this just made it worse. Not saying it's horrible but it honestly isn't good when you have less than 10 things in PF in Dynamis and they're all for social events. There's no raid groups in PF, no trial mount farming, takes over an hour to queue for an alliance raid even as healer or tank because you can't PF it because no one joins. Honestly, I think they should take one server from each of the other data center in NA and put them in Dynamis to help the queues because they're atrocious.

If they move worlds from Aether to Dynamis, all that will do is make the remaining Aether worlds that much more congested. Aether has become the name for the DC you go to for raiding, and for better or worse that is what it will stay until DC travel gets undone or the game dies.

@@farlado5459 It's one server from each, 1 server from Aether would almost double the Dynamis population, it'll make it healthier and those people can still go to Aether to raid, it's mainly to help with queue times because queues aren't cross data center so either do that or put every server in the same queue space

@@farlado5459 At this point if they were doing that they would need to completely break up Aether. Like 2 of each in Aether in different data centers. And it still probably wouldn't work. It's why cross-server PF or DF needs to happen. Though in the short term I'd be in favor of not being able to use PF while traveling.

@@ssmrgrim I would trade DC travel for cross-DC party finder in a heartbeat. DC travel is possibly the most toxic thing that has happened to the health of home world cultures, now that anyone looking to do any current high-end is immediately siphoned to Aether. Sure, Primal gets its boons from The Hunt and the boomers who still run older Savage/EX, but Crystal now has the short end of the stick among the established DCs as only Balmung really matters to anyone.

I agree, I was in Primal with my FC up until ShB when we moved to Crystal because we wanted a "new world" so a couple of IRL friends (Who still play to this day with us) could join with no issue, and while we're not as dead as Oceania we are truly missing out on a variety of groups farming stuff or doing all kinds of content (Both casual and hardcore). It's such a hassle to log out, then log in to travel to another Data Center, I know it takes a few minutes but still.

Glad I'm starting to see this sentiment, as I've felt it more or less a few months after DC travel opened up. Crystal feels dead for both casual and raiding content. Not to mention that our local scenes of niche content have been utterly siphoned away-- why bother with DC-specific groups? Crystal Exploratory Missions, which used to pop off all the time, has a slow group of DRS savage prog, and maybe a weekly run of BA. Deep Dungeons for leveling have suffered a lot as well. Any content you want to do, you will much more easily get done on Aether, no matter what you want to do. It sucks to see, because I love Crystal, my home is on Crystal. I think another important point is that uh... Dynamis can never actually grow at all, because everyone travels off of it to do content. I can only imagine how many sprouts initially think the game is dead outside of a patch drop.

Unified PF is a must! I hate having to travel to god damn Aether for raiding. I don't have my house, FC, retainers, nothing in Aether. The faster SE unifies the PF the better. Primal's raid scene is basically dead in PF because of this.

Raiding is entirely dead on Crystal. I didn't even choose to be on Crystal. I am on Diabolos which used to be part of Primal. If you want to raid you have no choice but to go to Aether now.

Hi! Some additional history as a Crystal - Zalera player back in HW unti mid-Shadowbringers: People towards the end of Stormblood *fled* Crystal's raiding scene. The PVP players effectively remained (even to this day, the PVP static I played with is still unbelievably active, as well as seeing lots of consistent faces when I travel back home and play PVP with friends). The flight of players to Aether definitely isn't a new phenomenon and recent microtrends are an overall reflection of how things have been since late Heavensward. I specifically remember finally joining the savage scene around O8S and there was just... no parties doing it. Crystal was in effect dead at that time. This was just a simple result of what started an expansion before, enhanced by what IMMAOILMAN said previously. Aether got to where it is today by consolidation that started far, far before DC travel was possible.

@@user-cd8ux7lp1f Yes correct, I should have specified Zalera for Heavensward but the rest remains true. As soon as the DC split happened, Zalera was effectively abandoned by the top raiders, who had previously moved to other, now active, current Aether servers.

Most people don't travel to other data centres to buy on the mb. My FF14 play is a lot of gather/crafting/selling. Its especially good when you utilise the data centres yourself to get mats, especially those rare expensive ones cheaper in order to craft something for a profit. Its crazy when the mats cost more than the crafted item so it evens it out more.

As someone doing UWU progging on Crystal, it's sad to see hardly anyone join let alone waiting for over an hour. Me and another player even managed to create an unofficial PF group for people Clearing UWU and hopefully other Ultimates as well when we complete it.

Honestly, I've always wished that the duty finder and party finder were DC independent... meaning they can source players from all over your region, and they'd do an automatic temporary transfer when the party fills. Other games do this, so it's gotta be possible.

Please don't ask about the situation in Chaos, it hurts seeing my friend have to travel to Light any time he wants to complete some endgame content. While he at least can find more that 4 active parties on Party Finder, his blacklist is apparently expanding quite quickly.

Something similar happened to JP datacenters. The primary raiding DC is Mana and all servers there are listed as congested.

I've heard that Mana is the hub for raiding there. Also some various rumors about players from certain worlds being banned from parties. Cross-DC PF will be very interesting there for sure

@@Sonicrida Yes, players from Elemental and specifically non-japanese speakers. Even before cross DC travel, you frequently saw "JP only" in party finder. That stems mostly from explaining mechanics in languages other than Japanese that many of them don't understand.

I completely agree with Dynamis being a safe haven.I was in an FC, and they basically buillied me, ignored me, and treated me like im stupid. When i applied for a spot in the raid team they completely ignored my preference on a new raiding team when i was one of the first to apply for it and threw me on what they wanted which was a healer. I didn't want to play healer because previously, they would tell me im not healing enough if i improved healing it was the damage. Not only this, but they also ply other games, one of them being genshin. I simply said why i didn't like a character they took it as tlking crap about the character . One of the leaders singled me out in the discord and yelled at me and told me my opinion didn't matter. That was the last straw and i left for dynamis but even then this FC leader HUNTED ME DOWN and asked me how my world was treating me i then had to change my name because i really dont enjoy conflict. I barely ply 14 now when i REALLY love this game. For all the good, this FC does the bad def out weighs it.

Same thing is going on on EU data centers. Nearly all high end raid PF is on Light DC. Chaos DC is nearly dead in that regard.

I'm watching this a month late but I'm glad you are talking about this issue. Party finder queue time for Dynamis is truly a bit annoying honestly, I wish we have some sort of unified party finder so all of us can enjoy the game a bit more. I mean I would assumed majority of people likely work during business hours so evening would be our relax/game time and hope to do dailies and etc but for now it's sorta not really possible especially if you don't have a lot of time to play. I travel a lot to the other dc to do my dailies & MSQsfor now and hope they will do something to fix this issue in the near future.

I needed to use Data center travel to do the MSQ. I was waiting over an hour on my local center for things like crystal tower. It only took 5 minutes after I transferred. I like the idea of duty finder sharing a unified data center. I would still keep the market boards separate though.

i hate datacenter travel so much. basically if you have a full static you can just raid on your datacenter but if only 1 person is missing you are forced to go to aether unless you want to spend hours filling that spot... and not to mention if you dont even have a static. i spent the first 3 weeks of abyssos living on Aether. basically i just logged in to raid and do daily roulettes so i just had to stay there and man, i cant talk with my FC, i cant check my retainers i cant even be at the house i own or stay at my FC. i cant do any of that and im forced to be there since its imposible to fill a party on primal. i hate this so much. i used to do some other stuff or hang out with friends while waiting for a party to fill or even talk with my fc while waiting and now i cant do any of that :( also, some people might get upset or mad for this but for ultimates we did them differently on prImal and now if i want to get some UwU reclears i have to adjust to the extremely unneficient "Aether" Strats instead of everything we worked so hard to achieve on UPR back on primal.

Yeah I'm over on the Light DC and we're having similar issues over here, Chaos is practically dead for all raid content now with all of the stuff going on on Light now. It wasn't so bad in the previous tier since you had a clear divide with different strats on each DC (and the ultimate scene pretty much entirely being on Light for... reasons) but now it's all on Light and everybody's doing the same strats which is kinda bad imo. Considering they announced plans for a 3rd DC over here I have no idea if this will get better or worse. Even if they add cross DC PF I feel like we'll still have the issues of everyone doing the same awful strats rather then the variety we had before, no idea how this could actually be solved though.

The problem has kind of always been there but the travel made it easier to see. I used to be on Crystal. True you wouldn't see a number as low as 4 for high end during the week but it usually stuck around 20 maybe up to 50 around patches and you would see very few parties for ultimate, unreal or old content. I like to blind prog new content and finding groups for that on crystal was impossible. I loved my friends but I chose Crystal before really knowing about the different cultures of the data centers. Im not into RP but I love to raid. I made the jump to Aether since I was frustrated I couldn't find parties for what I wanted to do. When DC travel started, it let players with similar desires congregate together without having to transfer away from their home world permanently. I would definitely like to see the duty finder linked up across centers since that would greatly help queue times and sprouts who need it. I personally would not mind the PF being linked up but it would lead to the cultures of each DC being watered down even more.

I was doing ultimates once on crystal and I got several tells to just go to aether. I was hanging out with friends and didn't mind the wait so I ignored them. Eventually it filled though ulti pf is also prime time for fish prog no matter the data center.

It's bad and not just for raiding. I made an alt to replay the story very casualy, made the character on dynamis for the xp buff and I HAVE TO DC travel if I want to proc any queue it's not even me trying to queue for some obscure stuff it's msq dungeons and trials, Dynamis is a DEAD place, I can't fathom someone new starting the game not knowing anything about it and having to deal with that when queuing for his first Satasha.... This is killing the game. I even remember clearly looking at the party finder on Dynamis : it was empty except one "Crystal tower" party begging for it to happen (and it was at prime time during the week end not 3 in the morning on a tuesday), you cannot proc the CT raids on Dynamis, the msq is literally bricked if you don't move out.

I'm in crystal and the state of PF is def sad. When anabaseios came out, I remember jumping to Aether to do P9S and i was a little nervous because of Aether's reputation of being like the hardcore raiders, everyone's OP, you cant make mistakes aaaaaand the party i joined ended up being a bunch of people from crystal 😂. I didnt do this raid tier other than p9s, but my static from last tier has been having to jump to Aether whenever they need a fill. I do feel like it used to be easier to find parties in crystal before dc travel. Hope they manage to make cross PF work xD

As a player on Dynamis, I kinda feel like DCT is hurting engagement with the Duty Finder quite a bit. It's really frustrating to HAVE to DCT in order to progress the MSQ because... Well. That's what everyone else is doing. All of thr parties in Party Finder are just ads most of the time, and even my little FC, as tight as we are, is losing one of our best members to Aethyr because she can't do the endgame content she wants to on Dynamis. It's like, on the one hand I appreciate it, but on the other hand it's a self perpetuating issue :T

Oh my god dude the venue ad point was so true. The ads have gotten so bad as of late. My blacklist is full of ad spammers who aren't even from the same data center. I wouldn't even mind these ads if they weren't so spammy. You can have one person spamming the same message in less than a minute of each other or you have the ad competition where they try to one up each others ad. Whenever I see a popotoartist ad or any other ad that's spammy I just blacklist them and move on.

Makes me wonder how the EU data centers have been affected? Maybe since it's only 2 it's probably not as severe. However, one thing I do know is that Light is known for its Eureka groups and there probably has been a lot of people flocking over to Light from Chaos just for Eureka which potentially lowered the playerbase on Chaos? Though I haven't noticed it much personally.

EU is affected almost the same as NA. chaos PF is mostly dead while light DC has the majority of players. The issue wasn't eureka tho it was LPDU.

Light is where ultimate pugs are, but Ive raided mostly on chaos since that is where my static is, and being there I saw a decent bit of savage parties as well. Ultimate pugs are all on light, due to the LPDU discord (light pf does ultimate)

Data center travel is going to be the death of Dynamis if cross data center PF/DF isn't added. I waited in queue for 3 and a half hours today for lvl 90 roulette, just to give up and go to Aether and get an insta queue and it turned out that 2 of the other people in the party were from Dynamis.... I'd have no problem being alone on Dynamis and owning the whole housing ward to myself if I didn't have to data hop anytime I want to do anything. I'll stick it out and keep helping sprouts til the servers close or DawnTrail brings more people.

Honestly when I heard that they would be adding cross-data center travel I felt it was going to be a double edged sword. It’s good that we can travel to other DC’s now so we maybe can play with some friends in other countries, but at the cost of the game kinda becoming like WoW, (Which I still actively play) in terms of realm culture taking a massive hit. Crystal: no raiders. Primal: Fake raiders. Aether: Actual raiders. Dynamis: what the hell is a Dynamis? 😂😂😂 This extends all the way to dungeon runs or a moogle tome farm. Anything is slower outside of Aether. As for raids, yes. For that very specific type of content there’s no very place than Aether. The real solution is to create a NA PF. Problem solved.

On EU Chaos is the "raid" DC (more overall clears by statistics and if you meet any raider from chaos theyll tell you that as well) but you can see a lot of PFs on either at any time. Not for ultimate tho, pugs for that are all on light. I do not want DCT gone, it has allowed for chaos and light to reunite again and it is so amazing to be able to find statics on both light and chaos.

Primal player here. I took a break shortly after finishing EW's story and coming back I thought the game was basically dead, not knowing at the time that anyone that wanted to prog old extremes or current savages were basically taking the trip to Aether to do it. I really do hate what data center travel has done to the game and my FC - to do anything I basically have to travel to Aether.

Aether was not the raiding server. They were at one point in time but by ShBs all DCs had their own raiding meta snd they were all much more equal than people pretend. Aether maybe had 10% more raiding lobbies in pf. It really wasn't very drastic a difference. But thank you for making this video. I am REALLY tired of aether people just dismissing the problems that they've never had to deal with.

Is easy to fix and still give the option to data center travel. Remove duty roulette and experience bonuses when you are on another data center. That's it. Now you need to be in your own data center to get the experience bonuses. You still can go to another data center. But not having any bonus would make you weight if the inconvenience is worth it. Easy, simple solution. Your character is already marked as Wanderer. When you travel, so there is no reason whatsoever it couldn't be done.

Being somebody that mostly spends their time in Crystal I will tell you that it pretty much feels like New England. You don't like something wait 5 minutes it's going to change😂 You don't like the drama that's happening just wait 5 minutes that drawing was either going to turn into something completely different or they're just going to start bitching about a completely different thing. Can't find certain content of going on at the moment just wait 5 minutes and then you'll dare they see the whole thing pop up like Festival lights and the party finder getting filled with a whole bunch of stuff. And if you're in the server I'm in then all you have to do is wait 5 minutes and your chat gets blown up with a literal paragraph of somebody advertising their special unique nightclub or cafe or DJ or "club+"

Other people are giving FFXIV history lessons, so why not? I will, too. Mateus is one of the bigger servers today, but there was a time where it was so small it was going to be decommissioned. Like my wife just bought a medium house on a whim by just…walking up to it. Before duty finder was made cross server, you’d have the same folks over and over sometimes. The folks who AFK’d in Idyllshire with the ultimate weapons were known and when they moved it was an event (shoutout to Fk-Mi Dragonblood and Kei Ko). In the lead up to Stormblood the developers made it a preferred world. Housing was super prevalent and so Balmung folks came over. I saw the transition literally take place overnight. Awesome open world RP happening all around me in the Quicksand that a week before had been completely dead. And now Mateus is arguably larger than Balmung. Life is funny.

nonono, you ARE wrong. it is normal for there to be only a couple high end PFs in Crystal. 4 is actually quite a bit for crystal. if anything, there's more people from Crystal and Dynamis travelling to Primal and Aether to do high end duties there. While I agree that a cross DC PF thing would be great, I don't think it would work the way the game's infrastructure is set up. Just set up your own PFs, I bet they will fill up real quick in Aether or Primal.

They need to update it so that all data centers are linked together. They also need to make it possible to change what country you are linked with. I'm in Australia automatically put into the Euro system of payment but I'm an American. When I move back to the states next year I'll be forced to continue to pay in Euro instead of USD. I switched my entire steam account to Australia with the games, and I'll switch it back, but I can't do it with this game? I did it with heaps of other games switching to the currency of the country I am living it. I hate having to pay double for the same content thanks to the Aussie Dollar. And I hate having to switch Data Centers to be able to do certain content. Gah!

As a club venues enthusiast, DC travel has been a godsend! No more having to create, gear, and level alts to party in other DCs! While I acknowledge the negatives, it really feels great having friends across the whole region now! I'd love to see Region Travel, at least NA to EU, but that probably won't happen due to cultural issues.
