Riku reminds me of my best friend. We've had our fights, we've shed our tears searching for one another after realizing what horrible business it was to do battle when we should have stuck together all the more. He was always more the one to reject himself, but as the Sora in this friendship, I always told him I thought he was the best pal ever, and reminded him of the light in there. now, just like them, we're an unstoppable team...with an unbreakable bond, sharing light and darkness.
@@ashcrow1356 at the moment, the outlook isn't entirely promising. His demons have gotten much stronger since then, and he has to face that darkness himself now. I'm hoping for him in spirit, but thats all i can do.
@@The_Argent_Dragon This struck me for some reason. Stick with him man, when you're friends with someone for that long, it's sometimes easy to forget that they care, or that they're there for you to rely on. At least, I feel like Riku may have felt that way, lol. Make sure you remind him :^)
Riku: Come on Sora, I thought you were stronger than that Roxas: Get real! Look at which one of us is winning!!! Riku: DiZ was right...you really are Sora's nobody...
If you think about it, the fight between Roxas and Riku was one of the saddest in the series. 16 y/o 's are supposed to be hanging out with each other and doing stupid stuff for fun. Just look at these too: literally fighting to the death for two different reasons : one wanted revenge, and the other was doing it because it he didn't he would never see his friend again
This 'lonely wolf' theme... I remember how shocked I was when Riku told Sora to destroy him cold turkey. I loved Re:Coded. Don't care what people say about it.
This song makes me realize the pain of being forced to fight a friend. Just listening to this brings out a lot of feelings i haven't felt in a long time.
Read into the storyline. Not all of it is sad and depressing, but when it does come to tragic moments, Yoko's music is there to make it all the more emotional.
is it wrong that i find this song more peaceful and relaxing than depressing? cause i know its supposed to reflect Riku's inner emotions, but, despite his struggling, there is still a sense of hope...man i
or when you find out someone in your family died..or when you're having flashbacks of someone you loved who has passed away..i think it fits perfectly with those situations
I love this song, it make's you wonder what it's like to fight a friend, and to think, sora had to fight riku.. imagine what sora might had to go threw to fight riku, the music all so has a low and almost depressing tune to it, perfect music for the best boss fight.
EVERYONE STOP SAYING THAT THIS SHOULDN'T OF BEEN IN RECODED THIS IS RE CODED'S SONG NOT KH1 OR KH2 OR WHATEVER.....sorry i overreacted i just love this game so much....
"Not one but two of the Keyblade's chosen stand before me as candidates but this is neither a competition or a battle for supremacy, not a test of wills, but a test of heart." ~ Master Eraqus
Jealously can make you do stupid things sometimes, but Riku was strong enough to realize his friendship for Sora was much more worth than any power he could obtain. And the fact that Sora never stopped believing in him also helped a great deal. That's why Riku fought so hard and couldn't even face Sora in the end, he felt bad for what he did, for his own weakness and for betraying Sora and Kairi the way he did. But friends forgive eachother and that's why I love this game so much :)
@ Patrick, I get it, but it's because I loved Riku's character in all the kingdom hearts games and here was basically Replica Riku, telling you to destroy him. I couldn't start the battle for two other reasons. One, this song plays after you beat Riku in 358 days, and Two because Riku, to me, was like a brother or that one friend that never did bad things and was a good friend to you.
Even if Riku did join the darkness, and insult you, he wanted the same thing as sora, on that day, the island was covered in darkness; to see new lands, but they all went alone
In comparison, Riku is the same as Terra in alignment, but has such control of his darkness that he can completely lock it away and remain uninfluenced by it as he wishes, due to his experiences and the sheer strength of his heart, he has developed a resilience against darkness that even Sora cannot match as a Pure Light alignment (seen in DDD, Xehanort had to change candidates for his plan as Riku has learnt how to *seal* the darkness away, meaning any attempts to subvert him would fail)
I think its less he seals it, and more he is at peace with it. And through that is unable tobe influenced by the darkness of others. As he knows who he is.
this is the most strange storyline ever made when something is so strange it gets to another level and creates all kinds of emotion this game is perfect
Because for the entire series, she's been nothing but a damsel in distress. Now she's finally getting a chance to do something useful; of course people are interested.
i really like this comment. it's really insightful and points out one of the reasons riku is my bias. his character was tragic, but thanks to sora, he has moved on.
Those people with "x's" in their names are part of Organization XIII. They're a group of Nobodies that inherit their names from their previous, whole selves. The names are anagrams with a "x" added into it. So Lea became Axel, Isa became Saix, Ansem became Xemnas, Sora became Roxas, etc.
Remember KH? He wins because between the two of them, Sora's got purpose behind his swings. That, and his Keyblade, which became officially his the moment Riku lost it at Hollow Bastion. Riku's too busy angsting to fight with his heart in it.
actually star seeker is mickeys true keyblade.he recieved kingdom key D(Light Seeker) while in the realm of darkness.in a scene he stated "i found the keyblade from this side/realm"
Yeah, that was when Riku was jealous of Sora and felt revenge was his only motive, Sora had several motives working in his favor so he won through higher spirtual strength in a way rather than physical.
You could say whole of kingdom hearts 1 is about Riku, think of it. Riku brought the darkness to destiny islands, sora tries to help him undo his mistakes. That way, Riku was always the protagonist.
Mickey is the receiver of Yen Sid's Keyblade; Star Seeker, he obtained his own Keyblade; Kingdom Key D later. Aqua may not be stronger than Terra, but Eraqus believed in purity of light being the strength of a Keyblade wielder and was troubled by the uncontrolled darkness within Terra, and thus did not pass him. Aqua and Terra are believably equal, their powers offset each other in opposite ways. However, Aqua's alignment is Pure Light. Terra has both light and dark, but he doesn't have control.
Sora was chosen to become light and Riku was chosen to become darkness. Fate could've changed if Riku had not chosen to leave the island in darkness. But, Sora was pure and was not swayed by the darkness and Riku was tainted with the darkness lurking in his heart.
yup,Riku is cool and strong.he is just same with me feel lonely, when get trouble face without help from other.thats why I like him and cosing as him at my every cosplay event
to be annost when i did fight riku and listen to this i cryde was so pain full to hurt riku even i died mayne time i still was sad really wish riku dint have to suffer at all
its probably to build up to how they find out how to save the 'fallen' warriors. (the BBS trio, Roxas, Namine, and Xion). the Data Ansem the Wise gave Riku probably needed the datascape from coded to work.
When I played the game and got to this stage of fighting Riku, Once I herd this song play and he told me to fight him I was like "No! I can't Riku! You're my best friend!" lol The theme song made it more dramatic. I loved how they made it a Hurt-The-One-You-Love scenario.
Not just that, when I finished the first game I was "ok, I defeated the evil guy trying to take over the world, cool" But now the story is more complex and interesting, its not just a child´s game anymore.
