Date Night Dinners | COOK WITH ME 

These dinners are great for one too! After 46 years of marriage and family dinners I found myself a widow and cooking yummy meals for one has been a challenge. The creamy pasta, steak and street tacos would all provide me with a delicious meal and leftovers for another meal! Thanks, Lisa 🤗

date night such a great idea being home on a winter night with fireplace going, early to bed for children, couldn;t be better. Time to talk alone, candlelight dinne, u and Luke r the best! Pray u have many years of datenight ahead, Rhoda Bowen,Conyers, Ga.

The only thing that would make a stay at home date night better is if hubby helped cook it. I don't necessarily need help, but working together and chatting during the prep would be awesome.

When my husband and I had four young kids and couldn’t afford a babysitter, we developed the habit of a « date night » at home just like you describe. Put the kids to bed early, we would watch a movie and share a bottle of wine. It became a comfortable enjoyable habit that we developed and when the kids got older and we could actually go out, we found that we preferred to stay in and have our own cooking, our own routine and spend time with just us and no one in our space. It’s a lovely thing!

Looks delicious! At this stage in life no need for sitters. Sometimes it is nice to have someone else do the cooking. But I love to have a nice dinner at home, no waiting, no noise and no crowds. 😀

Hi Lisa. Hope you see this. Don't bother peeling the garlic clove, just pop it in the press and squeeze. The skin will be a disc at the bottom you just take it out and do the next clove. So glad I discovered this, works every time.

Sometimes I forget how having date night at home can be just as nice!However being able to wear your Jammies and no make up with a messy bun is my kinda night!!

Ok the fact that you are highlighting the at home date night just makes my heart sing. We prefer at home date nights to be honest.

I absolutely love at home date nights. We have an adult son with autism so getting someone for him can be difficult. He goes to bed fairly early usually so that will make it easier for us to have a nice dinner alone. Aaaand have you seen the prices at restaurants lately???!!! It's insane! Home is where it's at. Thanks for the reminder and for the meal inspirations.

What a great idea! I plan to make my husband a date night meal for Valentine’s Day and use one of these recipes. I am also going to make it fancy for us and use real dishes with some valentines day decor :-)

You just gave me a better idea for Valentine’s Day meals, the trouble is I’m spoiled for choice now! Lol! I was going to make lasagne, but I can make that anytime. I think the best choice for the both of us will be the chicken and creamy pasta. Make it with a nice side salad and homemade garlic bread. Thank you for the inspiration, Lisa! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’m a mom to 6 almost grown now, but when the kids were little I LOVED stay at home dates too. Great ideas!

I really really wanna say you inspire me so much. The videos I do on my channel originate from a heart that first was helped so much by videos/channels like yours in my early days of motherhood. I think staying in is always so much better. I feel really bad when we are at a restaurant and they minute I put the food in my mouth they come and ask how is everything? Ugh thank you its delicious as my mouth is full of food. lolol. I understand that's their job. It is really nice when someone else cooks for me though :)

We moved from a place with great restaurant options to one with very few. We usually end up disappointed when eating out and really enjoy the control we have when eating in. When I need a break, my husband or kiddos are usually happy to step in. These look delicious!

What makes this plan a brilliant plan is while mom is in the kitchen making the special date night meal for two, at the same time dad can get that special time in with the children before tucking them in. That way it even gives the children something to look forward to when it is an at home date night for mom and dad, that dad gets one on one quality time with the children for about two the three hours before bed time. From board games, card games, reading stories, you name it, tons of fun things dad and children can have those memories in the making. What a way to utilize family time together.

My husband and I usually do date night in - especially after having our son. We’re celebrating Valentine’s Day today. Making a boneless lamb leg with asparagus. :) The perk of cooking a big meal at home is leftovers! We decided to make gyros from the leftover lamb.

We love at home date nights. We have carpet picnics. I put a blanket out on the floor and cook a meal for hubby and I, while he puts the kids to bed. We put our phones up and just enjoy our time together. Our favorite meals to do this is street tacos, charcuterie board, bacon western burgers and cheesy bacon and caramelized onion grilled cheese sandwiches. So yum!! We have 5 boys, so dates usually only happens at home. Great suggestions!! I’m going to make some garlic herb butter for my freezer. Such a great idea, will take steaks and chicken to that next level!

Love these recommendations! Before we had to go beef free, at home steak night was THE BEST and I live in an area with the worlds best steak houses all within a few miles. Definitely prefer all my own sides/seasonings and at half or a third the cost. Same with tacos!!

Thanks for the inspiration Lisa. I need to get over my hangup of getting pampered or not having to cook. With how much prices are going up I agree I can make a much better and healthier meal at home for far cheaper.
