i've only ever dated native spanish speakers myself, but while living here in the US and as English being more or less the only language spoken between us. I totally agree with what you said about knowing even a little bit of your boyfriend/girlfriend's mother tongue. I'm not fluent in spanish but can speak it well enough to where i can understand the meaning behind certain spanish phrases that don't directly translate in english. It always helped my past boyfriends feel more understood and ultimately made the bond easier to build/maintain

I agree completely! It’s been very difficult to date brasilian girls this past year and a half. Not only the language barrier, but the cultural differences between men and women interaction.

Tive sorte de o meu marido falar português, pq era a língua que eu achava mais bonita. Acho que isso facilitou muito meu aprendizado do português. Acho que de fato, se fosse uma língua que eu não me identifico, seria talvez cansativo. Ps, gosto muito quando vc faz vídeos em inglês tb.😊❤

Eu sempre penso sobre isso, já namorei um americano a distância e eu era muito imatura pra saber interpretar a forma dele de se expressar. Nossas estruturas linguísticas são diferentes e não necessariamente a pessoa está te ofendendo, é a fora dela de se expressar na língua dela. Isso me fez refletir muito sobre como devemos fazer um exercício mental pra entender as origens do outro e concluir que são mundos completamente diferentes e daí devemos julgar menos. A nossa experiência de vida não deve ser usada como régua pra medir a experiência dos outros. Estar em outro país nos ensina muito sobre isso TB.

I dated a Mexican guy a couple of years ago and even though I had tried to work things out, it turned out for me that we were awhole lot different from each other and in the long run it wouldn't have gone well.. so I broke up with him and unfortunately he didn't take it well and ever since, we never talked to each other again.

I understood all the struggles and issues that you are saying due to the language and cultural barriers in a multicultural relationship. However, I think you problaby agree it is much better to have lived a great love, with all of its eventualities or possible risks either by multiculturalism or due to another reasons instead to haven't lived none. I regret, back in the days, when I have hesitated and I missed a situation when I could have lived a love of my life even for just one night, doesn't matter! I was deeply falled in love, and what showed up, in a particular situation, it was an "one-night stand" situation, and despide of all of my lust, sexual desire for her, I wanted to show that she was much more for me. For instance, a long-term relationship and much more. Then, I hesited and I kind of declined. That was the occasion! The moment! For some reasons, which don't matter now, there would be no other situation like that! Today, sometimes I caught myself thinking and regretting Why I just didn't have jumped into that moment? Yes! I didn't want just one night and it would be just one night! However would have be memorable! I'm just trying to say that rationalites matters not always walk along perfectly, ideally, altogether and accurately with the matters of love. I understand that care and precautions should be taken. With no intention of machismo, but for a woman, the concerns should be greater. For example, there is always the risk of pregnancy and she is never sure about the content of the character of the man she is with. ps. let's make a bridge between us. Mas especificamentes entre países americanos, do norte e do sul, não é tão difícil assim. Por exemplo: a mulher brasileira gosta de ser independente também, não gosta de trabalhar só em casa, nem ser mandada por ninguém. Os brasileiros homens, pelo menos no meu estado, fazem serviço de casa, dividem tudo, cuidam das crianças. Aqui no Brasil a única questão é o beijinho que gostamos. SACO? gOSTEI DESSE VÍDEO.
