This is a topic that has been requested repeatedly on this channel. For those who are unfamiliar, Passport Bros is the collective term for a movement among Western men who are increasingly pursuing mating and dating opportunities abroad. To be honest, my previous association with the movement was that it was primarily catering to men who were too low-status or unattractive to beat out the intrasexual competition in their home country. Hearing about a country that harbors mainly skinny women alone is mindblowing as an american

Men as a collective simply can’t work with women who don’t wanna work with them. I’m seeing passport bros across all male demographics, regardless of race or socioeconomic position. So we can’t just say it’s “losers” and “incels” having this problem. Gaslighting men doesn’t fix the issue but forces them to find more extreme measures of adapting.💯

Exactly this. I do fine in the U.S. and am fairly successful and athletic. But, at times dating in the U.S. feels like sifting through a dumpster looking for fresh pizza, and then being asked to pay full price. Before I met my current gf I had an international thing for 3 years. The women in most other places are different in ways that just make them significantly better and more pleasant on the whole for relationships. I've met foreign strippers that conduct themselves better and have better attitudes and mentality than American lawyers, it's kind of sad.

For a while I thought "If all the women I'm meeting are 304's, the only thing they have in common is me", so I thought the problem was me. And then I go live overseas for a decade, I realized "Hey if you live in a hog farm, the only thing you're going to catch are swines". So it really wasn't my fault afterall.

I went to Japan once. On the plane ride there, I was in an aisle seat, with a Japanese mother and daughter to my left. The daughter spoke English moderately well, the mother just Japanese. Because it was a very long flight, I must have gone to use the bathroom maybe three times. Coming back to my seat after the second, I had just realized that when I got up to go, the women went after me, and were silently waiting for me to get up instead of asking me to move. When they got back, I leaned over to tell the daughter something like "if you need to go just tell me I'll get up". She talked to the mother in Japanese and they both looked very shocked I even said that, and then I was even more shocked that they were shocked that I said that. This sheer difference in culture was something I never would have expected without seeing it in my own eyes. After I got over the culture shock, I thought "well, now I know what kind of women I'm into".

The problem with dating/finding a wife in America is toxic feminism. Also, with divorce laws in America biased towards the women than the men.

I'm a Japanese dude with a Japanese wife (and kids). I was raised in the US. Please let me clarify what Dr. Orion said, since it may have lead to a misconception. Generally, JAPANESE WOMEN ARE NOT SUBMISSIVE. Please do not make this stupid mistake or you will have a very hard time when you marry them. It may appear as if they are submissive, but they are not. They will get freezingly cold practical once the love is gone. An average Japanese woman have a strong tendencies in solidifying their familial ground; husband is merely a rational tool to help accomplish this. They are also fast in accepting reality and will move on quickly with whatever situation they are put in. They are perfectly okay not loving or be loved by their husband if it helps them with their mission. So if your Japanese wife still loves you, do the absolute-fucking-best to keep her loving you. If she is acting submissive to you, consider it a test to see if you would keep providing the best you got for her. By all means, keep her happy.

Even if a man went abroad to seek opportunities because he can't have any here, I don't see what's wrong.

Change "US" with "western world" and everything you said is still true

I am becoming a "Japanese" woman and behaving in a sweet submissive way and my partner absolutely loves it. I'm appreciative, supportive, I agree with what he says. It doesn't do me any harm - it's actually enjoyable just to relax and let him take the reigns. Doesn't work if you're a radical feminist though!

I had plans to become passport bros with one of my best friends. He sadly passed away recently. I will now have an extra foreign woman in his honor.

My Filipina wife and I are 22 years married. It has the usual m/f challenge’s plus some multicultural issues. Some of the multicultural issues are exciting, some are a growing process, and some don’t go away. For instance, my wife is never going to like certain American foods and is never going to become comfortable during winter. She’s pretty severely seasonal affective. What I’d say is international women are still human, they have their quirks and flaws. There is no far away land with beautiful maidens that are going to be demure, submissive and frisky in the bedroom for multiple decades. Everyone has their ups and downs. I say this because a lot of men have idealized visions in their heads. Basically, being on vacation in Japan and living in Japan would be very different experiences. It’s not for everyone. You have to be adventurous, open minded and forgiving. You can’t be broke either. Most of the women’s expectations are modest, but it does cost some money to do the traveling and immigration process.

I live in Brazil 🇧🇷 and never moving back to the USA 🇺🇸. It’s amazing here.

This matches my experience. I was in a long term relationship in Japan and appreciated so much about my partner's ethics, healthy habits, sense of femininity.

Okay I AM very knowledgeable....about this subject. I am a retired clinical psychologist. I have LIVED fulltime retired in a Central American country for 23 years. I personally KNOW many American men married to local Latina women. Yes the women are feminine here too. Locals here are warm, friendly, and very formally polite. I know the WIVES of the expats as well, if not better, than the husbands. Yes,some of the women have oldfashioned feminine skills cooking, mending clothes, cleaning house..if and only if, they are lower and lower middle class. Servants are still common here and everyone middle class and up have them, THOSE women will date a gingo BUT they have high expectations of your ability to provide a larger house, more servants than she was brought up with, travel, multiple houses at the lake,,the beach, etc If you are willing to drop down to poor women yes ❤they will be thrilled for a time anticipating all the things you are going to provide for them, their children ,,their siblings, parents and cousins. I am NOT exaggerating. At lower income levels here it is a more communal indigenous society. At higher income levels it is just lile the US. Hypergamy is FAR more pronounced here than in the USA...if you resent that, look elsewhere. If you yourself are lower income you arent going to get anywhere with anyone here unless you con them into thinking you are hiding a high economic value...then you may be able to con one of them for awhile BUT you will suffer. Also except for "working girls" you will get nowhere without a promise of marriage...you are the brass ring...they are entitled legally to 50% of everything you have in this country if you marry them amd beñieve me you WILL marry them or lose them and the pressure will be fierce for you to bring your assets HERE to invest in property so they get 50% of all of it the minute they want to dump you after marriage...and unñess you can provide accelerating goodies as time goes by they WILL usually dump you. My mate and I have comforted several friends here who have been through this cycle. If you think American women are rapacious and can be heartless and cruel, well you havent seen how bad it can be from formerly sweet innocent, kind women. Will you get all sugared to begin with? Oh yes...they are great at it, having cut their teeth on Papi, their mothers teaching them exactly how to manupulate Papi. They then transfer those skills to you, with an informal advisory committee of her friends and female relatives, offering advice in the background. I have been sitting in the midst of such conversations and was AMAZED at the "how to trick a man" tips... things American women likely would not do. I know a man who is supporting THREE women here he had affairs with sequentially...bought all three lots and homes and continues to give them money for support. I could go through a dozen case histories for you...I get confided in alot due to my profession amd personality often by both parties...they know I wont tell anyone here anything. Japan is a very different culture, I am sure. my mother was with the US State Dept there for a decade. And I do have at least three couples friends married a long time local women and American men,,the women were all from middle or professional class families here. They dont cook ,,they dont clean and they do seem happy, they married better off American men, retired executives. They are indeed comfortable in large homes,,servants and foreign trips. IF you are happy to provide that, then yes, there are some lovely elegant women here and you can have a terrific life here in a great climate. None of us with happy relationships regret coming. I BROUGHT my happy relationship of 41 years with me. My mate and I together earned our money working and investing and have had an amazing life and this country has brought us great joy. I cannot recommemd the PLACE more highly IF you have means to live a middle class American life you will have the means to live a very comfortable (large house, servants, travel) upper middle class life here. Unless you get conned by a rapacious woman...not all of them are, of course but they all.have wonderful "presentstions". Male friends bring them to parties at my house when they are dating...then over the years I get to observe and often hear about the relationship. It has been quite an education in international "relations".

Funny (and telling) anecdote: About 10 years ago on holiday in Hongkong I met a nice young Japanese woman, a fellow tourist. I asked her when she arrived, she told me "yesterday". Since I had already been there a week I told her about all the must-see places and attractions in town. She politely listened and marked all these on a city map, apparently grateful for my advice. Later in the conversation I asked her where she had been for her holidays the previous year. The answer: Hongkong. Seeing my surprise she continued "oh yes, I've been coming here every year for the past 6 years, I love this place!" I was embarrassed. Mind you, she stayed absolutely polite throughout, didn't make any snide remarks or anything.

When you described the women in Japan, I had a dopamine rush each time.

Married to a Japanese woman for 17 years now. Was back in Tokyo this past summer and seeing so many slim women in dresses is indeed a culture shock. In general they have access to food that is cheaper and higher quality while having very little sugar. Add to this that they walk nearly everywhere. An interesting note is that Japanese women will expect to run the finances in the home.

Just keep in mind that Japanese in general have what is called "a public face" and try to avoid causing any inconvenience or awkwardness - they are VERY agreeable, not just women. Also, you're a foreigner, so they treat you differently than the Japanese men.

As an African from Uganda, your impressions of Japanese culture strongly resonate with me. The first Westerners to visit my country in the 19th century described our people as "The Japanese of Africa". Indeed, I have observed numerous parallels between us and the Japanese in language, etiquette and culture as a whole. Traditionally, marriage in my culture can best be described as a continuous "BDSM lite" relationship, in which women act very demure and submissive and men exert dominance. Our women are socialised to cater to their men in this way. Whether this is good or bad is another matter.

I lived in Japan for 2 years and I’m here to tell you that Japanese women are nice until you get to know them. It’s culture to be polite to strangers because a stranger back in the day, could be a social superior and you could loose your head for being rude. Once your social status is known, you’ll be treated accordingly. Also you experienced “Gaigin Power”, where you’re a slight celebrity for being a foreigner.

Dear Doctor, I have been watching your shows with high regard and and am gratified by your change of heart with respect to the new movement of men going abroad. As an American raised by Soviet immigrants, I can tell you that it is not difficult AT ALL to land someone with Angelina Jolie looks for the price of sushi as long as you are a perfect gentleman and go out of your way to prove that you are willing to make non-financial sacrifices of your time and effort to show the woman that you are a man of virtue. I married my dream girl, a 21 year old version who was as hot as hot as Adriana Lima. It upset my whole family that I could land such a rockstar of a woman but I didn’t care because I knew I was well worth it. But like you said: you pay a lot for American women and get nothing for it

Having dated lawyers, MDs, and entitled tech/corporate/boss ladies in the past two years (in the Bay Area like Dr. Taraban) and lost hope in feminity, I hope to meet a Japanese woman, as my colleague repeatedly suggested.

Thank you for pointing out and admitting accountability for what we PPB’s have been saying for the last 3 years. The difference is huge between western women and women abroad. And it’s not easy traveling abroad or moving overseas (which is another misconception; most PPB’s move and stay overseas). You can’t be low status, broke, or have no game to date overseas. From the resources required to travel abroad, to having the game to navigate the language and culture differences, most of these men are hardly inferior.

I went to Japan and met a girl on tinder. She showed up on our second date with a gift for me. It was something small and cheap, but I was taken aback by how thoughtful it was. Out of the 50+ girls I've gone on dates with in the US, not one has given me a gift. Hell, most don't even pretend to reach for their purse when the bill comes. We spent 2 weeks hanging out almost every day. I was planning on going back to see her again, but covid happened. I will say though, you can get a similar experience living in Miami. There are TONS of girls from South America there who are feminine, classy, intelligent, and submissive. I've been in Miami for 3 months now and I've met more high quality girls in those 3 months than I did in 10 years in Denver.

After dating internationally for a long time, I learned two things: 1) women tend to assimilate to whatever culture they happen to be in. This means that no matter where a girl grew up in, most of the time she'll develop the mindset of the culture she's immersed in given enough time. And 2) you won't automatically like all cultures alike so it only makes sense to explore the world and figure out what kind of values work best for you. Settling for whatever culture you happen to be in is very limiting imo.

Met a Filipina 4 years ago. She was 37. She moved to states when she was 17. She got a DUI 6 years later at the age of 23. She got the second at 37. She was addicted to alcohol, social media, sex and gambling. This one was on me. If she’s been westernized give her a hard pass.

I lived in the north and south of France for a total of 7 yrs. I now live in the States for my job and yrs later I still regret that I didn’t marry a French woman. They spoiled me completely.

I am an Asian Male Ivy League educated Electrical Engineer and Medical Doctor. I could not get a second date with a white female in Phoenix, Az. The first date usually was torture. The vibe was, "Come close to me and I'll stab you with this fork." This was 30 years ago, when I was searching for a wife. I am sure it is better now, but back then it was impossible to get a white woman to look at you in a romantic way. The Passport bros movement is a necessity in this era.

A friend of mine told me to quit American women in favor of women abroad more than thirty years ago. I thought like you did at first Orion. I thought he just couldn't hack it with American women. But I was wrong. Also interesting, is that this Bay area phenomenon has been going on for thirty or more years. It is actually refreshing simply to travel away from that epicenter and you will be more appreciated just for being a man.

While many things are true in the video, here’s my perspective having lived and worked with Japanese people for over 5 years -The Japanese people have incredible hospitality. BOTH Japanese men and women tend to put their “guest” at a much higher level. It’s called “omotenashi” - BOTH Japanese men and women are slim , aesthetic , educated and fit on average. This is not true for many passport bros. - Even as a woman there I received the same level of respect and “being listened to” from both Japanese men and women -Opening doors is not generally a part of culture , that’s probably why they felt a bit of embarrassment -the experience can vastly vary if the person is “non-white” -putting the guy first , To be very honest, in cases where women do such activities where they need to serve or deprive themselves of the basic facilities I - it seems as though they are not doing it willingly , but they are peer pressured into it. I’ve had numerous experiences where the women later on complain that they felt humiliated that they were made to do such activities . Eh like serve tea, sacrifice the sleeping matts etc. just because they do it doesn’t mean they don’t experience and enjoy sexism lol. - there are many cases of Japanese marriages where this “initial” respect is completely broken down later in marriage. There are cases where it becomes totally disrespectful, communication is broken down , cheating happens , sometimes kids are kidnapped, sexless marriages etc . The initial mask of hospitality can fall off . So while the initial fantasy looks great, also explore the other grim side as well.

I’m glad you see it now Dr. Taraban. I also just returned from a trip to Japan… the difference is truly night and day.

This is simple fact: Western women expect a lot and offer little. I do not understand why men buy them rings for engagement/marriage. They can barely cook, for example, and tend to resent men for it. I wish it were not the case, but it is. When I was in college I met a gorgeous Colombian student. She offered to cook a meal for me, and she was evidently glad to. Up until that time only my mother or my friends' mothers had ever cooked for me, and I was smitten with the Colombian.

I'm working remote in IT for a US company in Russia. Spent 4 years learning Russian. Still suck at it but its good enough for dating. My plan is to never date a western woman again. If I ever decide to have a family it will be here ideally away from the big cities (St. Petersburg and Moscow). Good luck men the grass really is greener outside USA/EU.

Thank you. Like you my initial take on pasport bros was the same thing. Seemed a bit creepy and predatory. I had the idea that it was old men looking for barely legal women. The more content I saw about it on youtube the more I realized that this is perhaps the best option for men who A. have the resources to do it, and B. are looking for wives. It comes with the added benefit of going to another country and building a life, business, and helping to build communities. It really is a win win for everyone ... except American women.

Regardless of whether one “fishes” in the US or abroad, you need to know what you want and makes you happy first… but going where there are better “fish” makes the search more efficient. You will need your finely-tuned “skills” learned here in the US abroad too… and when you do, the quality you find escalates. Thank you to the women here in the US for making my life better abroad. 😊

I was married to a Japanese woman in Canada, and after divorce had a 7 year relationship with another Japanese woman, this time in Japan and Canada as I was teaching yoga in both countries. I learned a lot about levels of politeness, decorum, hospitality and social harmony. There is however, another side to this - literally. Being married or having a long term relationship with a Japanese woman ends up being the inverse experience of their social, outward-facing charm. No time to go into it all here but a great book on Japanese social psychology is The Anatomy of Dependence by Takeo Doi. Orion, have a great time dating Japanese women but exercise a great degree of caution going further than that.

Only 6 jours ago I returned home from China. I could not get used to the women allowing the men to constantly come first whether it was walking onto an elevator, being served or walking through a doorway. I presumed it was because I am a westerner, which made the whole thing seem even worse. Upon further reflection, the women were very much the way you described Japanese women in terms of how easy it was to engage them in conversation and receive polite compliments. Even ignoring the difference in the quality of women and how they treat men, I don't see why dating in other countries would make a western man inferior unless he's exploiting some sort of significant legal or financial differences. Traveling costs money and meeting people who don't share your first language is more difficult and intimidating than going to a local bar.

Ive been married to a Japanese women for almost a decade and we have two children. Basically, Japanese people, both men and women are hard working and value quality. Asia societies in general love good quality food and this usually means they place value in how to cook and keep their environment clean. It’s all about being of service and working hard, not being idle. In my experience and I dated many women before marrying an Asian, if you want a true partner, hardworking, less drama and focused on what’s important in life then I think you may want to consider an Asian women. I think they appreciate masculine energy as we appreciate feminine energy- I wouldn’t say they are submissive though. But they make you realize how you have to up your game as they have their shit together. So you can’t be lazy.

100% Accurate. I was in Japan about a month ago for the first time. By and large, the biggest people I saw were other Americans who were visiting. Almost no one is fat in the whole country... not even the elderly. That really woke me up to the facts of how bad our food really is to our health, in this country. And they are some of the nicest group of people I have ever met...

I've been in Japan for 15 years, way before any passport pro stuff and not for women, I was just interested in the culture. You're spot on in terms of the feminity, they enjoy being women. I can tell you though that it isn't all sunshine and rainbows and I know the extreme dark side of the culture and the women but by comparison in many aspects you're correct.

This is the definition of how can you say things that you never experienced it yourself. I glad you got out there and experience it.

As an Asian woman, I feel the need to provide some clarification. While it may be true that many Japanese and Asian women embody positive traits like slenderness, femininity, and respectfulness, it is important not to idealize us. In these cultures, men are expected to be the sole financial providers when entering serious relationships. There is a tradition in Japan for women to resign from their careers to focus entirely on family life after marriage, even without children yet. Career-oriented women in Japan or other Asian countries are less likely to fulfill traditional domestic roles since being a "perfect woman" in the traditional sense requires full devotion. American women, in contrast, tend to share financial responsibilities with men. Please do not set unrealistic expectations for Asian partners-you may end up disappointed if you imagine we will naturally fulfill traditional roles. Cultural realities are more complex.

Dr. you are spitting nothing but facts. I live in Asia now. Ive been to Thailand and Korea so I know firsthand of what you are talking about. Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia in February and Japan in April. I cant wait to visit those locations.

I was a passport "gal." I married a Japanese man back in 2004 for many of the reasons you mentioned and he is far better than any of the American men I dated. There was really no comparison. Japan just produces great people and respectful partners. If you can swing it, I recommend this for anyone tired of the scene here. Just one word of advice: please do try to be the best version of yourself with them. Much of their appeal is from the terrific way they are raised, and they will give their "all" in a relationship. I've known other American/Japanese couples in which the American starts to behave terribly and the Japanese person is completely blind sighted by this. It's a horrible thing to do to someone who is bringing their "A game," as most Japanese do.

I was an expat at 19, didn't move back to the states full-time until my 30's. I'll say this: I've had many friends over the years who married foreign women and brought them back to the states, you have to be really careful that she doesn't get Americanized once you move back. From my observations, the risk seemed to be higher if it was a super young girl, say 25 and younger. I think 30 or so and later, they've developed enough as a person that they won't easily disregard their culture. But be very mindful about the friends she develops, help her find good people and interests, we all adopt personality traits of our associates. And regardless of how well she treats you, don't take her for granted -- I've seen a few friends do that as well, and without fail they all got divourced.
