Datsun 510 KA24E with R1 carbs & Megajolt EDIS4, idle and at speed

Can u fab up intake for the ka24e?? For sidedraft carbs?

Hey, yes do remember. EFI has more torque down low and there was less cold-start warm-up time.

Stock L series if I recall.

Distributor is Accel version of Ford EDIS 4 dual coil, timing controlled by MegaJolt. The coil is mounted right onto the timing cover where the distributor was - you can see the yellow caps where the leads plug into. All ITB/ignition details are in the510realm build thread I posted earlier in this comment section.

Hi Robert. I believe at that time my 510 was still running the stock external regulator - being a carbureted car from the factory there was no computer controlling the alternator.

You don’t use the harness you just run a l series or match box distributor for ignition and the carbs for fuel that’s all you need

Megajolt with EDIS4. Honestly, this setup looked much cooler than being practical. I'm now running the same motor with EFI and there's FAR more torque (everywhere) and less drama starting/cold running under various weather conditions.

Ray if they are carbs they can’t be fuel injected, those are called individual throttle bodies (ITBs)

theyre carbs so no sir, throttle bodies would be the correct term if they were fuel injected. i am not in any way trying to be an ass with this comment just trying to share correct terminology. you can find these "cv" carbs cheap second hand off a 2002 yamaha R1 & the boots/flange in a catalog called "parts unlimited" at any motorcycle parts counter. the main jets also you will 100% need larger ones. :)

Yes I did. It was really nice one warmed up but grumpy when cold and/or when first started up.

Technically, you're correct. It is no longer on this car. But at the time there absolutely was a Megajolt system, I installed it myself.

OttawaVelo I have a Ka24e and I’m wondering if you were able to order that intake from somewhere did you have to make it....also the cam that you have installed did you have any clearance issues with it?
