Good video, I just hate the way this game is releasing. They said this is an open beta, but its an early access for sure which is misleading. Open betas shouldn't last for months. I tried the open beta then backed off to wait for launch which it looks like they have no idea when that might be.

The new behemoth looks nice, and I like how they're starting to explore some more vastly different possibilities. Hoping to see more and more interesting things being explored in the future.

I had zero lag for several weeks. The previous patch seemed to introduce a little lag (it was some sort of hotfix for something). The last one brought heavy lag. I've no idea what to do if the behemoths are going to stutter and teleport. Hope there is a hotfix on the way.

It looks like all of them use the same model as the owl boss from the demos last year.

RiP tank build thanks to that nayzaga axe nerf - had to be done though, i thought it was far too powerful in cb and it definitely continued to be during ob. basically made you not want to use any other axe because the lack of risk when going for big attacks was just too strong

Like many I echo the valid concern of mhw overshadowing you're efforts, but I do still think there is room for you unlike others. You can be the warframe of this genre and work your way to sitting in a nice spot at second. You listen and work hard, you are community driven, keep it up, I played enough of monster hunter and in between big events I can change things up with your game.

One other issue is the performance issues, even tho I can run gta v even Far Cry at 60fps , this game stutters? This will also throw off some people

Man, I want to play Dauntless, but it's really slow going at the start. Felt like it took a long time to finally get to elemental behemoths (as in, starting to feel like it's no longer a tutorial), but man, I kind of ended there. I really want to see the end-game behemoth mechanics because they seem a lot cooler than MH:W, but I feel like I've been able to get into the fun of MH:W far quicker with it's pacing. It also just has a lot more to mess around with which might be the issue with Dauntless in it's current state. I figure I'll eventually play it far enough to get to later behemoths because they look really cool, but that might just wait until there's more in the game as a whole. Sad, really. :(

It's funny coming back a week later when the MHW PC port has been criticized for poor optimization and server issues - it's still the superior game in terms of mechanics and content but it's looking like support for it is going to come slowly on issues that aren't previously released content; Dauntless devs are good at working quickly to try to squash issues in comparison.

What Phoenix Labs needs to patch is its optimization. My computer can handle a lot of games with 60FPS but Dauntless pretty much forces my to play on eye soaring shitty ass graphics that make me just want to quit in a middle of a hunt.

i like this game, but the UI is off putting and the graphics are kinda wonky, really no reason to play this over monster hunter... Especially since its coming tomorrow...

Does the game actually run now? Back when it first came out i could barely even look around from the lack of FPS.

Good thing I didn't bother to max out that axe when I stopped playing. Still a lot of materials wasted. I know it's silly to blame the nerfs, but I do believe that they are killing the weapon now. Sure, playing good with Evasive Fury +6 did kind of make this axe OP, but at the same time - that was the requirement. You make a set for it, you manage to use the axe good - and even then you aren't always guaranteed to land the hits. Now... without EF+6 this is a waste of a weapon. Literally. If these 400-500 health that you get from it over a game are gamechangers, there are bigger problems with you or with the party. With EF+6, I guess one could say that you have to "git gud", but the problem is that "gitting gud" in this case means streamlining the weapon into a dumb charge-dash-charge-dash-repeat until you get hemorrhoids. Because anything beyond that will be a waste of time. Even until now that was the preferred approach, since few endgame bosses allow you to actually do the combo, and now that's just it. You either use it as a healbot and you have to know how to use it, or you take literally anything else. They have quite a lot of effects based on time or cooldowns, why couldn't they instead make this axe literally skill-based instead of "git gud at spamming 1 attack". Like 300 health with some 30 second cooldown. Or same 200 health, but with like 10 second cooldown that increases by 5 seconds if you take damage. This would make the masochistic tactics, where you can just soak the damage during the animation lock and heal up if you release at the right second - be less popular, because you automatically get extended CD. Why do the devs always make the worst decision. It took me like 5 mins to write this suggestion, yet, for them, they just went like: -This is a major patch, we've gotta fill it with something else. Got any trivial matters?. -Well, there's a lot of complaints about this broken Godhand... I mean the healing axe. -So what do you propose we do? -We could try to make it more tactical, but still appealing. -Like? -Making it require something more than just one-trick heal. Expand this healing mechanic. -No, that requires work. Andy the coder is leaving early today, we have to ship the patch. I think we'll just change 200 to 100. -But wouldn't that make it an even more one-trick weapon? -Who cares? If people are complaining about it then they don't want to use it, case closed. -They will only complain more. -No shit, grow a spine. These kids signed the beta ToS, we can paint the sand green for all I care. -Alright, I'll open the text editor...

Everyone saying Dauntless is dead cuz monster hunter world is on pc smh. Its not ganna die cuz MHW is on pc mostly because MHW needs a pretty good computer to run it and 60 dollars on top of that. So dauntless will appeal to the group that doesnt have top of the line computers and much money to spend.

When they said they were making it more open-world, I didn't expect this. Don't act like this is all new. It's the same exact copied behemoth as the others and a couple more attacks with armor that you pop on to replace your previous armor just because each behemoth material will always be more powerful. They said they were going to make this more MMO style and it's one of their objectives, but releasing the exact same content it already has is just shit.

The combat still hasn't seen any improvement despite a lot of feedback and this is literally what the game is based around. If you're thinking about starting this game, go ahead and give it a try, but don't expect anything worth keeping you invested in this game. It's obvious the devs have no intention of changing their decisions resulting in slow, mediocre combat and combos (what combos) and know better than their player base. Maybe they will improve as the game develops more and their attention can be spent in more areas but I doubt it.

So far, Dauntless has been unplayable for me. I got the stuck screen glitch and tried everything to make it work. I gave up and uninstalled. The day MHW comes out and I havent ran into a single perfomamce issue. Welp, this game is pretty dead to me.

Not enough, need more content and different weapon types. Only reason I still play dauntless is cause its free to play but its just not enough to compete with MWH. Game feels dead as it is already.

People comparing Dauntless a new franchise, with a small team and funding to MHWorld a game with history that it can build apon ( monsters, weapons, history, etc), bigger team and funding just doesn’t seem right, a more appt comparison would be comparing it to the first MH game.
