Early eighties. Not sure where this was recorded. Jerry is in prime form. I heard the band during this time and it was the most exciting jazz that Brubeck ever played. Including the great quartet with Paul Desmond. Unbelievable stuff here. Chris is a great bass player and Randy Jones is one of the most under-rated or just ignored drummers of all time. And I think Dave plays better on this then I've ever heard him before. Jerry Bergonzi is so masterful that he brings out the best in even an icon like Dave Brubeck. I've had this for 30 years or so on video tape and have almost literally worn it out.
