The picture of Emmet Till in his casket is such a powerful image. Powerful, in so far as you KNOW that he is a 14 year old kid, and ADULTS did that to him. It always shocks me how so often the perpetrators of discrimination describe their victims as 'less than' or 'like animals', believing that this somehow gives them permission to commit such crimes of humanity, like they're protecting the rest of the population from 'the wild ones'. But in reality, anyone who is so brutish to their fellow man is really the animal themselves....

I bet you 99% of black people know who he is talking about as soon as Chappelle says “a 14-year old black boy from Chicago went to visit family down in Mississippi....” EDIT: holy shit, ok. I’m getting a lot of “well I knew this story and I’m not a black person in America” replies. I really don’t care. This wasn’t something to exclude non-black people. This was just to point out that it would be really hard to find a black person that doesn’t know this story. @Lake Dodge I don't think you missed the point, but @David Alexander makes a great point. Usually when African Americans are killed and they want to change the narrative they bring up your history as if that's the reason for your unjustified murder. i.e Philando Castile, Ahmaud Arbery, Geroge Floyd. Their records had nothing to do with what happened to them, yet they were still published in several articles.

Sorry, if I disappointed you seeing that you took the time to come and point that out. @hardwire, I also like to point out that those that don't change the narrative, will find a one-off as if it justifies injustices or cruel acts that happened. Finally @hardwire I would like to add what was the purpose of you posting this comment to me? In your mind, does it justify what has happened to Emmett Till, Philando Castile, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, or Jacob Blake?
