@@mepatriotyoumarxist1263 I agree, but I must mention that this fat-faced, black-eyed, droopy Dave who is very unfunny, is also not the Dave we love. The real Dave can talk for 3 hours and I'll laugh and listen without every getting bored, the new one is pretty boring and actually harsh and mean as with Candace Owens. There is no way original Dave Chapelle would have talked about kicking her in her lady parts, he was funny but never sexist/hateful/violent etc. I don't know if this new guy is a clone or just brainwashed old-Dave, but something is off. 2010 he still seems OK, but of late....c'mon man. No way. Makes me wonder if his cousin and Katt Williams and all the conspiracy theories might actually be true, because the differences are just too drastic.
"The other car didn't even know we was racing!"......🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Such a masterful storyteller! Its the subtle nuances of Dave's descriptive ability that THROWS the joke over the top. Love this Kat, man! Every Bruh got an Uncle that tell vivid stories like this over a cold beer and smokes!
Right? I always laugh at his “generic white guy” voice. (Side note: I’m part of the pasty white brethren) If we can’t laugh at ourselves, and acknowledge that there are certain traits germane to every culture or race, then we all just suck.
Ever since I first saw this back in 2001, it's the one and only Stand-Up Comedy Special that I have to watch at least 5 times a year (minimum). As of this comment (10/19/2021) this is probably at least the 40th time I've seen it and it never -ever, gets old. He set the bar so high that the Gold Standard no longer stands alone because now...there's the Chapple Standard. God Bless you Dave! Thanks for cracking me up for 20 years!
He's my number 1 favourite comedian, i laugh at all comedians when im happy but when im depressed its hard to make me laugh, no comedian other than, dave makes me laugh, no matter what mood i'm in.
I could watch this every year, over and over again, and it still wouldn't get old... from high school years til now, I'm still laughing. Cheers! And Happy New Years!
Seems like by all the recent comments this has started to trend more recently. Even though it was posted 9 years ago, it is more relevant today than it was even then. A touch of a true great/legend comic. In my opinion Dave Chappelle is one of the best or even the best to ever do it.
@@davendotseth5234 lol you guys are funny.... ten years ago, in 2010, dave chappelle had already been "MIA" for about five years. His 'Chapelle Show' sketch comedy show aired around 2004. The intro song was released in 1999. I would assume this was released around the time of the y2k scare, aka jan 1 2000.
with all that said, dave chapelle is a living legend. Him dipping in and out of the spotlight is necessary for this, so people don't get sick of him, or he gets tired and starts repeating played out crap. appreciate him, and if you ever have a chance to attend some impromptu chappelle standup, it'd be an experience of a lifetime
Dave is a true artist!!! The way he tells his jokes with a story is a true art... Dave is to comedy what, Tyson, Jones, and Mayweather combined are to boxing.... thanks Dave for what you do, you have no idea how much joy you bring...thank you..
An intelligent comedian that not only leaves one in stitches with his comedy but puts one a little bit more in tune with what really happens out there.
Dave is still hilarious but i'd be lying if his voice didnt make him way more funny back then. There's less distinction between the voices he does now that his voice is so deep.
That that yell he does while he is talking smooth that makes it funny. Like if he says something like "bam" , "gotcha b" or stuff like "where is Ja?" in a sentence. He doesn't seem to do that as much. He was way funnier as skinny Chapelle to me
There's a reason he's the goat. He's just speaking from experience, seasoning with comedy. He's as authentic as a person can be and that why it resonates. And for the record there is nothing that you can't make a joke out of. If you're soft that's a you problem. 🤷♂️
he's so good... they chastised him, was the first comedian to step over that line and he got so much negativity for it. Hell that this man so far is the funniest ... screw them haters drag them down people, just can't be happy someones movin up
For me, Rodney Dangerfield will always be the best. Fast hitting one liners have u in stitches constantly the entire set. And it never looked like an act, he was so natural about it.
Genius is understatement when it comes to Dave. To provide laughter in a mix crewed while talking about topics during that era n continues to do so. So who changed? him or us, as citizens. "What's wrong with you Dave? I didn't know I couldn't do that"
