Hi and thanks, One AdVANture At A Time for sharing. This landscape is incredible...5:51...although, this gives me shaky legs...6:11 Wow...so peaceful just sitting here and listening to and watching the cascading....9:35, 9:58 OMG, this is an oasis or what? The sounds of the waterfall is robust and they are like a hidden treasure. Wow... another waterfall??? Indeed this is tall...and a little elegant And another...waterfall....and another....18:45...My legs are very very wobbly...18:55 I can almost feel a mist from the waterfall...21:22 What's an adventure!!! Did you have any concern hike separately? How was cell phone signal in the woods? Well done. Thank you for taking us on this adventure through your lens. 🙋‍♀🙋‍♀🛶🛶

Congratulations on conquering your fears and enjoying Eagle Creek. It’s been on my list for a while. In 2017 I was camping near Watson Lake hiking the PCT. There was already a fire that had closed the upper part of the Eagle Creek Trail. I was able to watch it to the Southwest of the valley from my campsite on the NorthEast side. Both beautiful and worrisome. A helicopter was dipping water from Watson lake to fight the fire. The next day I made my way up to Cascade Locks and was enjoying a well deserved night at a motel. We heard that a fire had started on the lower part of the EC trail caused by kids playing with fireworks. It closed the lower part of the trail and trapped about 200 day hikers for the night between the two fires. I was awoken by a State Trooper at 0230 and told to prepare to leave town right away because the fire by lower Eagle Creek was heading into town having come over the North ridge side of the valley. So, now I still need to hike the Eagle Creek trail now that it is open again. What excitement when the tree fell. Glad all survived. I had an 18” redwood tree limb fall on the trail I was on in the Forest of Nisene Marks in Aptos, Ca. It was right over my head when I heard the crack and backed up far enough to avoid being crushed. The outdoors can get exciting but is always worth visiting.

12 miles is a big day. We just did 11 miles in Colorado and it was tough! What a beautiful, stunning hike you guys did here. We loved the way you filmed/edited it too with your separate adventures. Good job facing your fears Dave! So glad Carrie and Roodle missed that tree. Scary! You guys are the best.

sorry I missed the premiere this morning, was out and forgot the time but I see you had some problems so maybe the next time, Dave did a lot better than what I could of done would never of even attempted to travel where the first set of cable were, I was even worried when Carrie and Roodle had to past that spot, well done by all, that waterfalls was amazing sight to see and agree that trail is no place for dogs

Some of us have a fear of heights, but respect it for good reason. I might challenge my fear of heights (living on the 9th floor with a balcony, and sitting on the balcony, is challenging it), but I would not do well to challenge my poor equilibrium! I would not be wise to take that trail! But if you can, it is good to desensitize yourself to the thing you fear. I admire the effort, but not for me.

I live in Portland and have hiked that trail many times. In fact I have backpacked to High Bridge, that first bridge across Eagle creek where you filmed down at the creek. There used to be a very narrow side trail down to a tiny beach under the bridge. Big enough for one, maybe two small tents. That was a tremendous fire that kid started with his fireworks. It started up that creek and spread to a large portion of the Columbia Gorge. The same very hot and dry conditions that we have been experiencing this summer. I really enjoyed this video and the memories it brought back.

That sand bar sounds like an amazing place to camp! I can only imagine how lush and green it was before the fire. What an amazing place, I wonder how many people from Portland have no idea this is here.

Thank you for having your dog on a halter and leash. I have seen a dog hanging by a neck collar on a trail with the owner trying to pull it up. Thank god the dog survived. But he had a dislocated neck and was choking. For everyone please always remember to use a hiking halter.

People can be pretty stupid.. Even doing this trail on a leach is pretty risky and I think the risk isn't worth the reward. It be better to just leave the dog at the van.

Two things. If it is public knowledge that at least one dog per year dies on this trail why would the state even allow it? Second. Why would you even remotely risk Roodle's life by taking him where you took him? As much as my husband and I love watching Roodle, we have to unsubscribe. You risked his life for a video on your RU-vid channel.
@oneadVANtureatatime
@oneadVANtureatatime 2 года назад
+Sherry Collins that is precisely why we DID NOT TAKE HIM TO TUNNEL FALLS. We were not aware that the trail was narrow in that one spot at the two mile marker. We would NEVER risk his life for a RU-vid video!!! If I at any point felt he was in danger I would have turned around. You would be hard pressed to find two people who love their dog more than we love Roodle Doodle.

@@oneadVANtureatatime There are numerous comments here from other people expressing their concern for Roodle. At the end of the video both of you even say that you wouldn't advise taking dogs on this trail. My husband and I are hikers and we would have NEVER put our dog in this situation. We would have turned back.

Oregon is the only state that has (or should I say "had") "Speed" (as opposed to Speed Limit) signs, I believe they're phasing them out in favor of the more standard Speed Limit signs I believe was due to a federal law, so Oregon "Speed" signs are becoming a rarity.
