Dave performs this song beautifully. This is one of the best songs I feel that he has ever written. I saw him sing this song at the Fillmore East when The Kinks were on their " Lola" Tour. Great Show!
God, what a beautiful voice this man had back in the day. It was perfectly imperfect. Sometimes you hear someone sing and it’s so perfect that it loses emotion. Not Dave. His voice had character coming out of its ears. It was very human.
My uncles took me to see Dave as a young 16 y/o Kinks fan in 97 or 98 about this time. It was awesome and I remember almost losing my voice because I was screaming every line. It is a great memory for me. So glad I got to see him live at least once.
This is one of the best songs I've ever heard, in my whole life. And the line "if I live too long I'm afraid I'll die" is so truth to me, as far as I'm starting to live almost too long, that it makes me cry, because I realize I'm starting to die
Keep it up Dave we love hearing the songs. I hope you do it as long as it makes you happy. I am hoping you and Ray will get together soon and just jam and see if it makes sense to do an album of new Kinks songs and a tour to celebrate 32 years of my favorite band! I think the Kinks still have something to say so... :)
