Keith, l made that run for a little over two years hauling pet supplies from Lacombe, La, until the company decided they didn't want me anymore. Best part of the job was the LN9000 with a 6 in a row Screamin demon and 10 speed. Waited 18 months for that truck after it was ordered. I ran to Shreveport as stated, Lafayette, La, Mobile, AL, and Pensacola, FL. After they let me go they put the boss's son on the truck and he managed to total it one night. Cost the company $150,000 in fines after 100 gallons of diesel went into an irrigation canal. They wanted me to come back and drive for them but had enough of 21 hr days and found a job driving 8 hr days hauling sewing machines.
@@balsachopper7 I was a union driver for 40 years, not all with the same company. When deregulation came about, the company went out of business as did many others. I did manage to find a union job hauling groceries. When the computers and GPS came into use, I decided that was enough. I've been retired for 15 years and enjoying every minute.
