I'm a 55 year old die hard Queen fan who just recently became enlightened as to how good and diversified Dave Mathews Band music is and all I can say is this is gooooood gooood good stuff. Love the violin and horns.
I’ve tried over and over to like Queen. I Can’t argue with the talent I simply can’t get a good heart felt feeling from anything Queen did. Freddy was obviously one of the greats, sadly I can’t relate to it.
I just love how every time they play a song, it is brand-new and unique. It's never exactly the same thing, it's always changing. Great musicians, indeed!
Exactly why it is such an enlightening treat to see them live. Their music, especially live events are always something you have never before experienced! They are an astounding band. Totally under rated...but those of us who know...we know we have something very unique and intimate in the dmb. Almost like our little secret that everyone COULD also experience, but their little minds just can't grasp something this big and this important in the world of music. They are always on top. You can tell that they love what they are doing because it shows night after night with every performance. Truly a phenomenal band full of hard working, talented musicians. I do disagree with the way they handled the situation with Boyd. They were too quick in making that decision and I believe it was the wrong decision to make. I would bet my last dime that they regret it as well, IMHO.
Dammit Boyd...that was just beautifully done, my friend! You kind of leave me speechless when watching you play. Nothing compares to seeing you play...especially when I have front row tickets directly in front of you! Such an amazingly talented artist and one of the hardest working musicians that I have ever experienced. You always aim to please. Just blows my mind.
I've always liked DMB but I've never been to a concert, I have friends who were die-hards about the live shows back when we were younger and now I see why. Jesus that extended jam with the violin player was so electric I felt it deep in my soul through seven years and my computer monitor. If any of the other songs in the set were even half as dynamic and moving I can see why my friends have been to hundreds of shows...
It's such a show worth seeing. They won't be around forever... Dave's already getting Grey in his beard. I hate to say that... but you never know when the last chance will be. "Can't believe that we would lie in our Graves, wondering what might've been."
you know Boyd is getting into it when he starts walking around the stage and dancing. absolutely a band worth seeing live. seen them twice at DTE and both years the show absolutely rocked
This is their best song ever no doubt. The version in Away from the World DVD is probably their best live take ever (save the ending part which is best in Live In Chicago). Love this song.
Gotta love how he opens up by seducing the audience with a basic pickup line lol. Gotta love these guys. They just exude pure joy every time they play.
Noblesville Indiana anyone?? It's been about 5 years since I've been to Dave's show, so this year I'm going down to Noblesville. Seen them many times but it's been too long
Cant wait to see them in concert again this July! ^^ Its truly quite the experience.. Seeing DMB is more than going to a concert.. It's artwork. A unique and individual masterpiece every show, every song. And i was actually at this show ^^ He's not coming back to Darien Lake this year though which is sad :/ Toronto here i come!
At about 11:00 minutes, have y’all considered going into “You Look Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton?? Perfect timing. Another absolutely amazing compilation of sound and talent. Thank you.
Sometimes i here negative stuff about Tim.....I guess the first time i saw DMB was with Tim so i cant imagine it anyway else. I couldn't keep my eye's off him the whole night!
GreatGreatGreat .. went to the DMB concert in Lisbon on Sunday ... Fantastic! 4:30 hours of great music quality! Thank you ... thank you !!!! DMB As Dave said: Obrigado (Thank You, in portuguese) Very Much!
Fonz's rhythm is for real on this. I love the play between he and BT. Horns, Fonz and BT all seem to be looking at Carter around 7:15 for the change, BT actually comes down a note at 7:21, Carter says fuck that, let's keep this beast going! Love this version!!
At 5:55 changing the video speed to x0.75 is.. worth a listen lol incredible also worth noting at this speed is how tight and perfect each note the band plays
The Menacing Tinsley! Gotta love the man's passion every time he takes off. Would love to see True Reflections live. Carter is the only one that can keep up with him. I think it scares Dave. LMAO!
Yessir! I'm on 8 nights. At 22 years of age, the ability to fund cross country trips to see him live is difficult to come by. So worth it though. I try to tell my friends they have to see the best performers of our time, but they can't see it. The Gorge and Red Rocks are my two big ones I want to see within the next 2 years
My favourite DMB song I would have say. Favourite version of Lie in our Graves would have to be Live Trax 11. Boyd and Butch together, just so sweet! Just google Live Trax 11 and go to the musictoday website to listen.
This looks like The Woodlands to me based on the tent-like venue. Was the NY venue a similar layout to this?. BTW just saw y'all live last night and can't get enough. Love it!
