I’ve been a fan of DMB my entire life, I’ve listened to a million of his songs, and I can say whole heartedly that this is my favorite rendition of this song I have ever heard.
@@LPLiveArchive Nah--I mean yes this is where they pulled the intro from, but that's not the important difference. The lyrics in the first two verses are tighter here, and this version closes with an outro (or really a final verse) that adds clarity, ties the rest of the song together, and also makes it decidedly sadder. That final verse was included throughout 2013 with different lines tweaked here and there, but the gist was consistent. It was dropped for 2014. Also, FWIW, the album vocals are from the 2006 Batson sessions, so what you hear above in the first two verses is essentially a revised/evolved version of the lyrics. Dave started to try to retroactively match the album lyrics live (and often fumbled them) with the release of Come Tomorrow in 2018. Super weird timeline hah.

Is he saying, "I ball so hard" or "I fall so hard"? Just curious. Also curious about which album this is on. I know it's not on a studio album, or at least I'm pretty sure it's not. I really really like it. It must be one of those bootleg jams or something.
