Gary Clark Jr. is a flat-out stud... And Tim Reynolds not only taking a back seat but nearly hiding in the background to keep the focus on Gary shows their class and professionalism... Love that stuff.
Ive to many shows and heard watchtower many times, but this performance of it is better than all the others combined...perfection! GCjr, the crowd energy, the midset appearance...just brilliant
Gary Clark jr. Jimi's soul lives in you, and absolute AMAZING guitarist. Actually in the conversation for best ever. Once in a century talent. Wow, words cant describe.....
Indeed. I HAD seen, live, the Dead do Watchtower...with Carlos Santana as a guest. i Saw Neil Young do it with Booker T and the MG's.. Might be THE best rock song of all.. but you need to REALLY nail it. This did nail it.
Crazy to look back at this comment section 10 years later. It appears most viewing this didn’t quite understand they were witnessing a star in the making. Most of the posts giving Gary his flowers are from the last 3-5 years. At least people caught on
This is great! It's just such a young audience. I'm just wondering how many people in that audience know that this is an old Bob Dylan tune from the 60s. My hope is that this generation know the history of rock music. By the way, in my opinion, almost anybody who does a cover of any Bob Dylan tune almost always does it better. But I still have to give kudos to Bob for composing his lyrics and music. He is an icon, even today, as his music is still performed today! It's all good!
The beautiful of Gary's solo in this is his timing if the drummer is looking at you like this is because you're going with and against the beat in the best possible way.
Can somebody please explain what I've just witnessed at 7.30mins Gary Clark Jr just tore that guitar a new assho.........😂😂 The camera literally couldn't keep up with the speed of his hands Wow, im literally speechless.....
Gary Clark Jr. is playing the same events as #DMB in Australia this coming week so there's a good chance he'll guest. Gary Clark jr + DMB at Deer Creek in 2012 - (Starting the player by his solo - roll it back if you'd like): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UwrTxN4Lfo0.htmlm38s
Gary you are the shifizz, to all you shredders here's a guitar lesson for you all. D MB you guys are always a pleasure to watch, Carter, you are amazing drummer👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What a performance !!!! The hand-doctor will have Gary in a wrist brace if he plays that hard too often; permissable only when I'm in the audience. Lol. Love you, Gary.
Awesome job brother. You did a great job with the video and sound. Keep up the great work and I'll keeping posting videos for you to use, when I get them.
DMB always puts on sick shows at Deer Creek. Phish did too but they’re kinda past it now unfortunately. Deer Creek Red Rocks Alpine Valley and the Gorge in Washington are the best outdoor venues in the country.
I don't know why everyone is saying he is trying to sound like Hendrix or play like Hendrix. Nobody will be like Hendrix. As for his playing it's without a doubt based off the Carlos Santana and dmb all along the watchtower. Any dmb fan could tell that right away. Gary sounds like he's going for the Santana style way more than a Hendrix thing.
