Crazy to see how nervous Dave gets during these interviews, but can sing and belt his heart out in front of thousands and never miss a beat. Congrats on the nomination, well deserved. I always wonder if these guys realize the impact their songs have on ordinary everyday ppl like me.....

dave matthews met my kids during his band rehearsal in philly, when he was just becoming well-known, and he was so sweet and interested in them. he ended up dedicating a song to my 8 yr. old daughter during the concert.

i can sympathize with you on that. It's not Dave Matthews Band's fault though. Sure Todd should have already been in the HOF. DMB belongs there too.. Looking at the 2020 nominees I see artists who don't belong there because they were not Rock and Roll artists (Whitney Houston - I love her but she was not a rocker, Notorious BIG??)

DMB has sold over 100 million concert tickets and 91 million CDs and DVDs as of 2018. Dave and his band may not be in your wheelhouse but they deserve to be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

Also, if you've never heard them play their rendition of All Around The Watchtower or Two Step live it would be hard to deny that they do play a lot of Rock n Roll. The radio version of Crash Into Me barely scratches the surface of their repitoire (if that's your reasoning behind comparing them to Kenny G.) They also write and play all of their own music aside from the few covers they do play. I feel like your statement is a bit generalized.

Is a nominee for the Rock/Roll HOF different than, say, a nominee for an Oscar, Golden Globe, Grammy, etc...? Like, does he still have to WIN to get into the HOF? Or is a nominee in this situation synonymous with 'winning' in a sense?
