David does redeem himself at the end of the original game but up until then he was a true Step Douche. He has no right trying to lecture Chloe, make her empty her pockets, search her room, etc. The guy is not her dad. The way he reacts if you reject his offer in Episode 3 shows his true colors. Not to mention saying "You've had enough of vacation from having a father figure". She didn't ask for that "vacation". Poor girl would give anything to have William back. He lectures her about Joyce hurting but disregards Chloe's pain. Still cannot understand how Joyce could just let him treat her own daughter like that. It's no wonder Chloe came out the way she did. Joyce truly did pick him over her. Chloe says that she needs her yet Joyce just brushes it off. Still for the life of me cannot understand how anyone can argue that David is a better person than Chloe. Chloe is a hurting and still developing kid. David is a grown ass man who ought to know better.
I don’t think saving Max automatically redeems him cause doing one good deed doesn’t make up for 3 years of abusing Chloe and harassing high school girls but I do agree with most of what you’re saying.
I didn't argue with mom in the kitchen a minute before but the tone he took with me made me say "Oh fuck no!". So I searched up a guide just to make sure that I put him in his place.
The last one was so true, bill of rights actually did say soldiers can't live in peoples houses without conscent The one time history class was usefull
nah i was nice to david, im definitely trying to be nicer to david in this prequel. he just wants to protect his family, and let's not forget, he was the one who saved Max. without him, Max would be long gone.
Chloe's just a triggered bitch that can't move on. Trust me, if my Father died, then i'd be upset. However, if my Mother married a Guy that was nice, yet sometimes hard-skinned, then i'd be happy. Cause, he's nice, and protective. :D
thunder wolf Chloe has a lot of things going wrong in her life and you have to try and see it from her perspective. Not only is her dad dead, Max, her best friend, has completely cut her off when she needs her most, people at school don't like her, and some guy tries to bud his way into her life like he's her father. From what I've seen David doesn't seem sensitive to the fact she lost her father to a very tragic incident. Chloe is alone and is 16 ffs. She lost her dad when she was 13/14. I would be triggered to if my childhood was ruined like that.
thunder wolf honestly I think none of you know what it's like to lose your father and then have some man come in to your life and try to control you. Also Maybe work on your empathy ??? , you just called a girl who's dad died a "triggered bitch that can't move on" wtf does that say about you?
She's 16. She lost her fucking dad at 13, her best friend doesn't give a fuck about her. Some random guy wants to think he's her new dad, almost even forcing her to let go of her real dad, she has no friends, why would she try to get friends? After what her lifelong friend did to her? Immature? It's not exactly easy to mature under those circumstances.
I can't be nice to David, i just can't. Let's not forget that David HIT Chloe in the first episode of LiS, and also that he has fucking cameras all around Joyce's house without telling her or Chloe. AND ALSO that he was "The asshole who incriminate a highschool student of being suspicious because it's been bullied" and make that another reason for Kate's suicide. So no, David maybe has good intentions, but he's a shitty person, no matter what.
> He escalated a verbal confrontation to violence, when, as a step father who is only recently a part of the family, he had no such right. Not even from the point of discipline "I wish you'd leave Joyce. Like, now!" and "Fuck you, pig!" - those were the trigger-quotes. David apologized for the former, because there was a family topic brought up, and he didn't for the latter, because not only Chloe's grass (in Joyce's house, keep in mind) was being discussed, but she ignored his so obvious warning "You haven't seen rage, you little...". Chloe is too used to get away with her words unpunished. > Imagine your father dying and some military asshat tells you how to live your life “you’ve had a vacation from having a father figure for too long” poor poor David. Yes, he was fucking right about that one: there was NO father figure to control Chloe's rebellion, for too long. PTSD doesn't help him do that, but he finds Jefferson's dark room all by himself - all while trying to find out the reason of his stepdaughter's friend missing.
First of all, she was saying that while abusing her own "weak gender" status for her own purposes, which is already disgusting. The camera part, yes, it's overboard. But we go to the next thing: Kate was drugged, and she was taken away, so she was a key for Rachel's missing case. Yes, he came off harsh, but he admitted that mistake, unlike Chloe, who is too arrogant to do the same. She's hurt yes, but 3 years later, and you still don't even try to make peace with him? Well, if so, that's on your own conscience. Plus, David is Joyce's husband - of course he won't like when his step-daughter smokes weed right in her house. Or smoking weed overall. Even if David worded his thoughts wrong, you can't just go and skip the context of his statement. Her condition was already wrong and she has to have a father figure to balance this out, but, as i said, he's traumatized himself, and he has his own problems he tries to take care about. If you want to complain about how much of a dick he is, then ask why Joyce didn't leave him years later?
I never really understood people who defend David. He's abusive, manipulative, and disgusting. I despised him since the first time he hit Chloe. The "you're breaking your mother's heart" trick is manipulation to guilt her into being complacent with his abuse. If a man ever snapped his fingers and pointed at the ground to get me to come I'd slap the shit out of him. Drag him, Chloe.
Chloe never gave him a chance. she is the reason why he have to treat her that way. if she was nice to him then he would treat her same as Joyce. but David is stupid and forceful. And If I was David I would've left Joyce. I wouldn't have tolerated Chloe.
@@mainulakash3787 Let's be fair here, though. She was going through a lot in her life as of late. So, it's not like she would just "accept" him there, or anything.
@@erithrone Oh please, Max would definitely survive, bc she's clever and has powers. If she couldn't reverse time, David would be dead by the very first moment that he entered the dark room.
People keep saying that david is a good man but he’s not in life is strange he keeps pictures of Kate and bully’s her and has cameras in the house with out Chloe’s moms permission so its like 50/50 I guess
I didn't do this one, I ignored and endured because I actually respect David since the original Life is Strange game where it becomes clear he genuinly cares for Chloe.
That might have been true but the reason David is like that is because he had a hard life during the army as a soldier so I kind of understand why he comes off as rude at first. He doesn't even show his love for Chloe in this game so I didn't really like him in this game as much as Life is Strange 1. He has no right forcing Chloe to do things for him and bossing her around.
@@Mysticgames136 David has no respect for Chloe’s boundaries or anyone’s boundaries. I hate that people are defending his actions by making it seem like Chloe deserves to be pushed around by him just because she didn’t respect a man that had no respect for her.
hurrdurr25 I think that is kinda cool and creative. Cause basically Chloe don't have any power to use like Max, so that is the only way she can do to convince or force other people to do what she want. Well, you got your own opinions.
@@manusiaberuntung891 in military they use the International Radiotelephony Spelling Alphabet, it's used in communication. For example Chloe said Foxtrot Uniform, F U as in "Fuck You" to david.
