Really proud of David. He’s always been impressive, but now he really is maturing and has become so disciplined. I could see him beating anybody around his weight class, on any given night. I pray that Canelo gives him the shot, but I don’t think it will ever happen. He’s such an impressive and talented fighter. I can’t wait to see more from him.

This was my second full fight of David Benevidez. Wow! I saw some things that made me think differently about him. What impressed me more than anything was how he would change the angle and trajectory of his punches. To be so long, there wasn't an angle he could not fit his shots in. Even at close range, be managed to turn shots over and with power. There were no spots Andrade could actually feel safe. No matter where he placed himself, Benavidez was able to put his shots where they were needed. Also, his IQ is outstanding! I saw him sell a shot to the body, and when Andrade bought it, committed to blocking it, David let go of a wicked hook. It was beautiful. This man is much more than I actually realized. It will take someone special to beat him.

There's quite literally no other boxer in 168 more deserving for a title match than Benavidez. He's the future of the 168 division. It all depends on how long Canelo avoids the matchup.

That look like a boy fighting a man, Benavides walked right through him. As soon as Benavides turned it up., You can literally see how the momentum of the fight shifted. I mean all Canelo was able to do to Bivol was punch him in the arms, he could not hurt him. Think logically, how do you think the fight with Benavides would go?

The ONLY reason Caleb plant was able to go the distance was because the refs allowed him to do 100+ clinches throughout the fight and didn’t deduct any pts or force him to fight ……charlo will wash plant just like Benavidez did but back to the topic S/O David I knew he would get Andrade out of there but not as early as he did and S/O charlo for coming back mentally and physically strong

First thing, Caleb Plant fought David a lot better and went the distance plus he also fought Canelo. Andrade gave it his best but David is obviously better. Andrade’s corner wanted to pull the plug and he also wanted to alot more when he felt the power. It is what it is, he gets respect from fight fans for at least mixing it up and not prancing around like several other boring “fighters” out there that refuse to take real risks. Canelo should stay clear of David
